    Peace
I think we can ask the other question, and that is
    what is our purpose?
Well, the answer is actually to believe in The God and serve Him,
that is our only purpose ...
well so He says in The AQ...
"... surely I have not created the Jinn and Mankind but to worship/serve Me..."

Yes but why? what does God get out of us "worshipping/serving" Him? Why if we do not are we punished for this?

Serving = obeying the laws of God.

          sis ay, peace

err... apparently it has to do with the Trust our seed the Human Race accepted before being manifested in physical form... meaning we were asked first, so we ultimately bear the responsibility for who we are, i.e. our purpose on Earth, and the consequencs of not fulfilling it...
Allah knows what this Trust exactly means (AQ) but nobody accepted it but US.
