To me -- Satan or shaytan is not a name period. Otherwise, how do you explain the plural, 'shayateen'?

In fact, 7/27 uses both the singular and plural form.

    Interesting, but what about these?

    1698 Fa-itha qara/ta alqur-ana faistaAAithbiAllahi mina al shaytan alrrajeemi

1698 So, when you study the Quran, you shall seek refuge with God from Satan, the banished

1699 He has no authority over those who acknowledge, and who put their trust in their Lord.
16100 His authority is over those who follow him, and those who set him up as a partner.

I am no longer a Sunna-rejecter. See 4:59-65, 62:2-4, 3:31, 4:156, 7:157 Messenger teaches and is to be followed and obeyed. Examples of revelation received which is not in the Qur'an: 3:123-126, 33:37, 2:187, 66:3, 62:9.

Check the bold bits.. the verses seem to indicate that the shaytan is one being.

I disagree, read the next verse... Can one being do this to multiple people? Or mankind as in 710-16?

yes God is one being and he can do this to all of us, it is believed that God has given extra ordinary powers to iblis just to test us. hail

                      Eh --

there's no point. You wouldn't believe me if I told you.

Well hey, since you say that every conjecture or conclusion amounts to nothing and since the conjecture is based on the Qur'an and the stories...pray tell what makes your experience any different?

Doesn't matter if anybody believes in you, just add another anecdote into the mix and it could be enlightening or fodder for future horror stories.

Exactly, it doesn't matter if anyone believes you, just give them the information and let them make up their own minds

Okay I'm not up to date on Catholics dirty business but I thought the only place where they'd be doing the violence thing is in Northern Ireland? I mean in this day and age of course, not talking about the Inquisition and all.

There's the dirty sexual business but I haven't heard of killing people outright for saying something different.
