Women's Singing and Qur'an Recitation in Public

I remember taking this type of fatwa very seriously. I gave up music for just over a year, got rid of all my music and sold my mp3 player. The thing is, I sort of experienced the benefits of giving up music. It cleared my mind of all the crap that I was feeding it. No longer was Ludacris telling me he had hoes in different area codes, or Biggie revealing his dreams of 'f****** an R'n'B b****'. Basically, I was polluting my mind and the hiatus did me a world of good. I noticed a change in my own character, and found myself thinking and reflecting more. Before, if I had a quiet moment to myself I'd hum a song or rap a lyric to myself. Once I quit I freed up a lot of brain energy.
Since I woke up to the extremity of such a fatwa, I've built up my music collection again but this time being far more selective. Inspiring lyrics and genuine expression of reality or dreams is what I look for now.
This is precisely why rap is crap.
Mr.trolololo is however strangely upbeat and happy yet SO weird...the contrast is fascinating creepy.
