sister are you trying to over excite the males here by dancing?
Oh no, sister, I showed a male dancing -- only for educational purposes and in order to make a point. http//img689.imageshack.us/img689/1633/engellieb.gif
My apologies, I should have added a warning that the video contains many haram things, such as music, dancing, showing awrah etc., so that those among us who are weak can avoid looking at it and falling into sin.

Look, Tarkan is a shameless guy, he even publicly makes fun of the fact that he causes great fitnah. http//www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/sprachlos/speechless-smiley-018.gif Watch this at your own risk!

If its the weakest stimuli then either women need their tongues ripped out or men need to be deaf, that should sort the problem
Stimuli is only that which is meant to allure. Speech and tone can conveys hidden signals intentionally or unintentionally. This is why injunction was issued to be careful in the selection of words and the tone of speech, since people with disease in their hearts, can perceive a different signal, if the tone and words are uttered off the cuff, without first having evaluated the pros and cons.

yes i agree with what you have said but its the people with disease in their hearts that need to be the target of change and not women shut up and locked away just because they have a voice.

ohh , defending him , great >>> keep going. by the way what do you by shameless (half naked in Tv with girls and kissings !!!!!!!!).
You know that the prophet Youssef peace be upon him covered his face when a woman wanted to talk to him. Imagine the beauty of Youssef ( Tarkan is ugly comparing to this prophet ) and by the way Youssef take two kinds of beauty
1-the beauty outside .
2-the beauty inside . -

We all have to stand strong and not let the history (in all cultures) of silencing women repeat itself. Singing and music are too joyful to be silenced. They are gifts from God.
I simply refute that a person has to dress or act or be silent in certain ways in order to help others control their sexual urges. If you cannot control yourself then remove and cover yourself up - don't ask me to.
Every time we try to enforce and legislate morality it goes wrong.
Sadly true. Every time we try to enforce and legislate morality, women end up being held responsible and being restriced. Strict gender segregation and dress codes do not benefit society, as is often claimed, they lead to serious violations of women's rights and to over-sexualized societies.
This whole discussion about women's voices is a good example of where this sort of thinking leads. It's scary because it is based on the assumption that human beings are animals who will have sex anywhere, at any time, with anyone, if they see (or hear!) something of the opposite gender they might find attractive.
So first, women are being told to cover their hair, since that is supposedly something that attracts men the most. Then they are being told to cover their bodies in a way that the shape of the figure can not be detected. Then they are being told they should cover their face, with preferably only one eye showing. Then comes the advice to better stay in the house and pray in the darkest corner of it. And if she needs to go out, she should crouch along the walls, not wear any perfume, not speak in public and make herself invisible as much as possible.
Which is exactly what some scholars are propagating. And the Salafis, of course.
hypno nopeBut fact is -- men will always find something they find attractive in a woman, regardless of the degree of covering. And vice versa!
And those "in whose heart is a disease" can be excited by anything. There are foot fetischists -- does that mean I have to wear socks and shoes even when it's 40?C? There are paedophiles -- should we hide our children and not let them go anywhere, not even to closest family, because of that? There are men who get turned on by completely veiled women -- what about them? And so on ...
A man who gets sexually excited by a woman reciting the word of God (or praying alongside him) needs psychological help imho. Telling females they should not let their voices be heard can't be a solution.
nope
Fact is, women and men can interact very well with each other, it does not automatically create "fitnah", as the scholars like to claim. It's about education, manners, heart, and brain. But if we teach people from childhood on that even looking at the other gender, let alone interacting with it freely, will inevitably lead to disaster, that people can not control themselves, they will never learn how to interact in an appropriate manner. Every situation will be loaded with tension and anxiety.A typical example of that sort of thinking is this argument
hummmmm, you said many women you mean girls because women are something else which is probably an adult ones who might be married and if they are married and have fantasy about this guy, know that they cheats their husbands.
No person in their right mind goes out and cheats on their spouse because they see a singer they find sexy. With all respect, that is simply ridiculous.
I watched the Tarkan video half an hour ago. Do you think I am going to go out on the street now and drag some guy upstairs in order to have wild sex with him or what? Because that is essentially what you are saying.

saying that he is sexy makes you under that you have felt some fantasy . and makes you under cheating .

you watched Tarkan's video and you did find him sexy, so this lead us to the section of having some sexual attraction over him, if you're married, you have cheated your husband, if you're not, you did have a fantasy which can be measured as a guilt and God knows .

Where does it say in Quran 'thou shalt not be attracted to the opposite sex on video or you have cheated'
where does it say anywhere that finding someone attractive or sexy leads to having fantasy about them??
You are not married are you deformer

Are you serious? Saying someone is sexy means you are automatically having fantasies about having sex with that person and thus you are cheating?
Sorry, I consider this bizarre nonsense. It's a weird train of thought with no scriptural or logical evidence.
Btw., I can very well say or see that a person is sexy / attractive etc. without feeling attracted to him or her. Yes, it applies to women too. So whenever I tell a friend she looks good, or sexy, I am having a fantasy about her and am cheating on my husband? Get real!
http//img337.imageshack.us/img337/3135/iconconfused.gifAnyway ... you have just confirmed something imporant -- that you believe a woman can get turned on to the point of cheating by a man's voice and / or looks. Even when she only sees him on a screen.
So that brings us to the logic of what was being discussed here in the first place. Why should a woman's voice be considered awrah, but not a man's? Why should women hide their bodies and hair and voices, but not the men? And, if women are so dangerous, why shouldn't we tell the men to stay at their homes and away from the masajid etc.? Remember the command for men to lower the gaze comes before the command for women. Maybe there is some insignificance in that? Might be a thought worth pondering ...

I hope it's not another fatwa by Faraz Rabbani. yuck peace
In the issue of an age, one's duty is to turn to the recognized authorities of that age. In the issues -- the key issues -- the new matters, the challenges facing Muslims in any particular time, our duty is not just to dig up the answer ourselves, or to try to figure things out, or just going back to the texts alone. But rather ... we have to turn to the recognized authorities of our age.
