        1. What was the name of the last prophet Muhammad or Muhammed?

All the derivatives of the root word H8M40D4 (read HaMaDa) occurs 68 times in the Quran

Since you are infatuated with numerology and instead of conjecturing on pronunciation post all occurrences of merciful and tell why you teach/spread corruption remove verses of Qur'an?

4829 Muhammad messenger The God and the ones who with him tough on the disbelievers merciful (plural) among themselves

As usual, dogmatic people cannot discuss issues properly. I had discussed numerous times this issue and most likely you have not even read my responses to your accusation as you have not even read this article.

As it seems, you are the one who is infatuated, you are the one afflicted with numberphobia... In that long article, you quoted a sentence containing a few numbers, without even understanding its meaning and its context, and reacted to it like those who are prophetically described in 7449-51,

Sorry... I have no time to deal with bigots.

          Peace,
          Edip

Writing Arabic in English which does not pronounce the sounds of Arabic is something I consider ridiculous.

Write the Words in Arabic, and it will help avoid all stupid and unsubstantiated generalised assertions. Diacritic marks representing vowels are the built in aspect of Arabic language. It would be stupid of a so called scholar if he thinks that the vowels were added into the language after three hundred years of their pronouncement.

It is stupid to forget that the Arabic is a language of Syllables and not merely consonants. A consonantal text without showing vowels does not mean that vowels were added later on. Urdu text of old also does not contain diacritic marks. The Books meant for Urdu speaking need not be put diacritic marks. But for others to learn Urdu they will be provided with diacritic marks to facilitate fluent reading.

Please put the Arabic words with vowels, and thereat see if it makes sense what has been thought or otherwise.

              Root

Words from this Root in the Grand Qur'aan
              a) Total occurrences 68
              b) No of constructions 17

The basic perception infolded in the Root is to willingly and sincerely acknowledge and appreciate the grandeur and greatness, positive and proportionate qualities, traits and acts of a person and thereby express admiration. is used only for a person of will and intellect and not for matter and other living creatures while the English word "praise" refers to expression of admiration for somebody or something.

&#1583 ) is, on one hand, the prerogative and exclusive right of a person intrinsically possessor of grandeur, greatness, power, dominion, sovereignty etc and, on the other hand, it is an obligation upon others to recognize, acknowledge and express their admiration reflecting willful and affectionate acceptance of their relative inferiority and humility.

              .......................

Notwithstanding that Easa son of Maryam had made known the name of the only one Messenger who was to come after him as http//haqeeqat.org.pk/English%20Tafsir%20e%20Haqeeqat/00.%20Tabweeb/00005.%20Hamad%20Ha%20Meem%20Dal/17.gif , when he was corporeally sent to the world he was named
              http//haqeeqat.org.pk/English%20Tafsir%20e%20Haqeeqat/00.Arabic%20Text/048.%20Al%20Fatha/48.29.gif
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, the Exalted.

http//haqeeqat.org.pk/English%20Tafsir%20e%20Haqeeqat/00.%20Tabweeb/00005.%20Hamad%20Ha%20Meem%20Dal/16.gif means a person who is honored, respected, appreciated and praised uninterruptedly.
              http//haqeeqat.org.pk/English%20Tafsir%20e%20Haqeeqat/00.Arabic%20Text/017.%20Al%20Israa/17.79.gif http//haqeeqat.org.pk/English%20Tafsir%20e%20Haqeeqat/00.Arabic%20Text/017.%20Al%20Israa/17.79a.gif
And in the wee hours of the night, for reason, you the Messenger remain awake with the Qur'aan, this is an additional time-bound assignment for you alone. May be, it is near that your Sustainer Lord may revive/return you to the original Place/Abode of Glory and Praise.

See all the occurrences of this Root in original Arabic text and let Yuksel make an attempt to re-structure them with his own vowel sign

                Mazhar,

Your response demonstrates that you have not even read the article. You just read the title and then attacked the keyboard, spewing responses filled with numerous "stupid" words. You may continue fooling yourself with such emotional reaction. I do not really expect a Muhammad-worshiper will be able to read, let alone understand my argument. So, keep praising your idol and you will be shocked in the Day of Judgment, the day of Taghabun.

                Peace,
                Edip

It is odd that "all praise belongs to God", and that Muhammad should mean "the praised one".
That Muhammed (Muhammid?) can mean frequent praiser, is a nuance of understanding I appreciate.
I just skimmed the article though, maybe I have better time to read it more thoroughly later.

                  Peace.

I read it all more carefully than the care you migh thave exercised in writing it.

This is the reason that I am asking you to write the words with the vowels as you think or wish to be written. Thereat, you will realize what I have said. Why you escape such simple requests?

                      Dear Mazhar,

During the first century after the revelation of the Quran, the diacritical marks were not yet invented. So, today's orthodox reading (pronounciation) is the product of a later codification and it reflects some sectarian biases and distortions.

In English, I prefer writing it as Muhammed, not Muhammad.

                      Peace,
                      Edip

Before sharing this article I consulted to three colleagues of mine and all told me that they had similar question but somehow they did not pursue studying it.

I am glad that you have too noticed the problem. In the article, I listed all the verse numbers where the derivatives of the word HMD are used. They are instructive. Only God deserves such an admiration, honor, submission, that is expressed in Arabic word, HMD. I have now came to understanding that HMD is one of the verbs approved only to denote our relation to God. It is similar to the verb A'BaDa or SaBaHa. We can SERVE (ABaDa, nABuDu) without condition, God alone; not anyone else, including His messengers. We can SaBaHa God alone, none else. Thus, no creature should be named mA'BuD (the one who is served without condition) or maSBuH (the one who is glorified and praised) or muSaBbaH (the one whou is glorified and praised frequently)...

                          Peace,

Are you incapable of dicsussing an issue without jumping from one to another? (This is my retaliation to your loaded question! For the other two logical fallacies you commit, see below)

Your quesiton above contains three logical fallacies that I teach my students not to commit. It is called redherring, it is called ad hominem, and it is called complex (or loaded) question. Interestingly, you have managed to cramp all these three logical fallacies in a short question! bravo

Besides, your question unveils your unquestioned assumptions about messengership, and about my position on the issue.

                            Peace,

                              Dear Edip,

You cannot escape inherent contradictions of your thoughts, despite efforts. Your messenger said in writing that he believes in the name Muhammad while you disagree and say it is Muhammed. You, indirectly, have included him and thus condemned with those who distorted Qur'aan.

It is realy frustrating to discuss issues with people who have little interest in critical thinking.

Until reacently, I too had no problem with the pronounciation of "MuhammAd." We are responsible for our intentions and for what we know and for what we are given. If Rashad was alive today and he was reminded of this contradiction, I am almost sure that he would correct his error as he did numerous times when he was alive. I worked together with him for one year in Masjid Tucson, every day of the week and I know him much better than you do. Besides, his own revisions of his previous translations are evidence for this fact.

Only bigots and idolworshipers do not learn new things and they do not correct their errors!

maHMuD (the praised position) occurs once as the description of the POSITION promised for the prophet 1779. Edip

                                  http//haqeeqat.org.pk/English%20Tafsir%20e%20Haqeeqat/00.Arabic%20Text/017.%20Al%20Israa/17.79a.gif
It occurs as revival of the "praised position". Can someone hold a praised position without he being considered worthy of praise?

The use of word "position" also denotes location especially in relation to others. Thereby, you admit, say inadvertantly, that he holds a position of praise.

Weldone. You have rather now nakedly exposed the inherent contradictions. If this has been your and that of Rashad Khalifa's practice then how you could call the writing of earlier people as "distortions" who also read the word as Muhammad and NOT Muhammed?

Since you are infatuated with numerology and instead of conjecturing on pronunciation post all occurrences of merciful and tell why you teach/spread corruption remove verses of Qur'an?

4829 Muhammad messenger The God and the ones who with him tough on the disbelievers merciful (plural) among themselves

Why is it that Rashad Khalifa and the code 19 has suddenly become the topic now on this thread. Are people so arrogant and boldface that they can't keep those issues to themselves and critically analyzed what a fellow Brother is proposing. This is not a code 19 or Rashad thread topic people!!!! Stick to the topic! If you want to discuss the code 19 or Rashad Khalifa i suggest you use another thread instead of sidestepping this topic. Act like you have some measure of sobriety and not like wild little children.

                                        Peace,

You seem to have not even noticed what is the point at issue. The point at issue is Edip's observation in his referred article

4.DISTORTING THE READING OF AN ADJECTIVE Those who idolized the last prophet, changed the pronunciation of his name from Muhammed into Muhammad.

He is only being reminded that his messenger Rashad Khalifa should also be "convicted" for this distortion and idolizing since he did the same thing in his writings and translations what are others alleged to have done. That is the reason Rashad Khalifa has come in.

So you do not even wish to follow your own messenger Rashad Khalifa? Have you discarded him as being a messenger?

Brother it is rather you that seem to miss the point. When you start making statements like the above you seem like a person who is obsessed with what Rashad Khalifa did. Why can't you and others stick to the topic. Bringing up meaningless topics like these are distractions. If you are in love with Rashad like so many others then there are plenty of other threads that you can debate this topic. Please keep your love interests and ideas to yourself and stick to the topic. This is about the last prophet's name and not Rashad Khalifa. Can't we all just get along group

                                          Peace,
