Polygamy - Time to settle the issue
-
Peace Maha,
How does a mother part with her child like that? If I were widowed or divorced, am I supposed to just part with my child? Wouldn't it be better to keep the family unit together? We're not talking about orphans without the mother AND father in the picture. We're talking about orphans without FATHERS. If you've read my other posts, then you'll understand the negative impacts on entire communities that suffer as result of absentee fathers.
By the way, I found your post sarcastic. I suppose you've never been an orphan before, that you can make so light of it?
As if adoption was a cure all for such a situation.
yes its like being an orphan in the world without a mother. )
You have the concept of adoption to deal with that.
-
Peace Maha,
Prostitution? Wow.
Perhaps, in the end, it's all about how you feel. Some generous women would gladly put aside their feelings in this one case, in order to provide a COMPLETE family to the orphans. A complete family entails a mother and father who are married, and the orphans are legitimate children to their caretaker (the father). Not only that, but they are also heirs to the inheritance. Some would be okay with that, believe it or not. It wouldn't be prostitution. It's called because selflessly charitable. Amazing how charitable some people are, no?
Others may not be, and that's where the category of MMA comes in. No need to feel guilty about it though. God warns against the possible injustices, and nobody is compelled to take part in polygamy.
why would someone need to marry and have sex with a woman in return for looking after her children? Thats sounds like prostitution to me!
Moreover, If I was a woman with children why shall I need someone to look after my children? I can look after my children my self!Solution If a woman is not capable of looking after her children, then Make the mothers family get up from their as* and help her with the children or/and Open a kindergarten near her.

See, this is where the disagreement lies though. Huruf does not believe that 4.3 has anything to do with polygamy. As a result, fearing injustice wouldn't matter in her interpretation.
Exactly, unless Huruf clears up her stance, but she won't, and that's fine, we still have dawngorgeous, Maha, and Noon Walqalami participating, and around like 1000 views to this thread, so I'm sure there are people thinking about this, and I invite all those interested to share something/some interpretation/some deduction/some discovery in the Quran to not hesitate at all. The next objectives I want to achieve in this thread are
Get a reply from dawngorgeous for the points I raised in reply #118
Clear up my stance on polyandry
Try to further clear up 43 by any further required discussions and move on to 2432 -
I agree with Released's posts above

Peace Fallen Angel,
I shall respond to you as soon as I am near a Koran. That could be sooner rather than later. Bear with me.

Dear -- please refer to me as brother.
Qur'an azwjan in context of people refers to spouse (i.e. person one marries or pairs with).
2230 so if he divorces her so not lawful to him from after until tankiha/she marries zawjan/spouse other than him so if he divorces her so not blame on them that they return back if they think that they keep limits The God and those are limits The God He makes clear for people who know
The issue is settled; Qur'an is absolutely clear multiple wives are allowed.
Prohibition is non-existent. All are free to marry or not marry and divorce.Lastly, not all women with children are glamorous lookers; even if one marries models that too quickly fades and little difference sexually being with one woman or multiple women which is greater burden on the man.
Peace
Peace brother . I will come back to the zawj issue later. Firstly tell me since you believe multiple wives are allowed .. Does the Quran according to your understanding allows multiple husbands as well?
Peace

Peace Fallen Angel,
I believe the chapter is 58 and the verses are 4 and 5.
Also, I would add to this argument the verse about seeing each other before you are married for the first time. Once again, I am afraid I do not have the chapter and verse to hand. In this verse, God talks about the couple not being intimate and maintaining their chastity. If chastity means being chaste, then the expectation is that both man and woman are not indulging in sex. If the husband is already married and this is his second, third or fourth wife, then chastity cannot be maintained.
You speak of the love etc., a husband might expect from his wives. What of the love a woman might expect from her husband. How on earth can he show this to four women. God tells us it is impossible to be fair to more than one woman. Which means that something is not adding up in the Koran??!!
Dawn.

Peace . You are talking about absentee fathers, but a man who PRACTISE polygamy is actually a absent father, since he would have to divide his time. How funny is it to see your father only once in a while ?
Secondly, that you are willing to sleep with a married man for the sake of your children is a totally different issue . Personally if I was divorced or widowed my children would for sure not be orphans as I would be there for them .
A widow woman can always marry a widow man . Do you think it's only women who became widows ? What about the widow males ? Now would you suggest polyandry for the widow males as well? You are talking about widow females as they are handicap incapable of taking care of their own children. And thus need a married stranger to look after the children every second/third day. That's an insult on motherhood!
If a widow woman wants to marry for herself she can marry a single man or a widow man or a divorcee. Why would she degrade herself by running after married men ?
And you are talking about a family unit . A widow woman running after married men for the sake of "family unit" cannot be morally justified and she would be disrespectful towards her children and the wives of the married men if she did that. Nor can a married stepfather who the children would see every second day replace a biological father.

You are out of touch with reality. A Stepfather is not the legitimate caretaker of the children neither can he take the place of the biological father. In the case of a mother and stepfather it's the Mother who is the caretaker and It's her responsibility to ensure that the stepfather isn't abusing the children . As we know from surveys, most incidence of incest and child abuse is commited by a stepfather.
Secondly if a widow really wants a man in the house for the children she would logically go after a single man who could be there for the children all the time. Not a married man who would be absent at least half of his time since he would have many other wives and children as well.

Peace Maha )
Peace . You are talking about absentee fathers, but a man who PRACTISE polygamy is actually a absent father, since he would have to divide his time. How funny is it to see your father only once in a while ?
How is he an absent father when the entire family lives together under one roof? Are all fathers of large families absent fathers? There is nothing in the Quran that points in the direction of families having to live separately or apart from one another.
Now would you suggest polyandry for the widow males as well?If you had actually read the contents of this thread properly, you would have actually seen my arguments against polyandry and why it is not sanctioned within the Quran. In many third world countries ravaged by war, it is mainly women that are destitute and become vulnerable within the society. Their children of course suffer alongside them. The men rarely become widowers in large numbers from wars (I'd like to see an example of this from somewhere in our history on Planet Earth), and they are not taken advantage of as easily. Unless, of course we're talking about some mythological creatures from the Amazon.
It's definitely acceptable to sleep with a married man if you are married to him. I see polygamy under the circumstances I have highlighted as perfectly permissible. She isn't just some woman who is sleeping with them. She is his wife. Her children are now his step children, and will stand in line for the inheritance as well. Perfectly permissible and no need to slander the poor woman. Whether I'd do it or not? It depends on my circumstances and the actual environment. Again, there is nothing in the Quran that compels me or my husband to take on this challenge. God warns against polygamy even within these specific situations, as He is well aware of the many domestic problems that could follow. However, the allowance is made for the most charitable in the society. If they can make it work, then why deny knock it? Why deny a group of orphans the chance of a real family life? I'm not going to be the one to do it.
You are talking about widow females as they are handicap incapable of taking care of their owto bolder. And thus need a married stranger to look after the children every second/third day. That's an insult on motherhood!
An insult to motherhood? Yes, I'm sure the poor, destitute woman is going to be concerned with that so called insult, at the time that they are in dire need of proper family structure. Obviously, you really can't relate to the issue at all. God forbid you live in some land ravaged by war and anarchy.
If a widow woman wants to marry for herself she can marry a single man or a widow man or a divorcee. Why would she degrade herself by running after married men ?
Because the single, capable men are not available in large numbers. This is the entire point of the discussion. The war or whatever the phenomenon was ,has obviously devastated the population, to the point of where such men cannot be found easily. She's not running after him, you make this woman to sound like a whore. She's not some home wrecker as you are trying to paint the picture. It's her God given right in 4.3 to seek out a man who is willing to assimilate her kids into his family. The majority of men wouldn't take such a huge financial and emotionally taxing situation on. The men and women who agree to this arrangement are of the most charitable, no matter how much your words seek to slander them.
And you are talking about a family unit . A widow woman running after married men for the sake of "family unit" cannot be morally justified and she would be disrespectful towards her children and the wives of the married men if she did that. Nor can a married stepfather who the children would see every second day replace a biological father.
Chapter 4 justifies it. I have yet to see a justifiable explanation for 4.3 from any of the posters in regard to these three things context, grammar, and whether or not the "solution" even makes sense or not. People just want to disregard 4.3 has a bunch of allegorical, fancy schmancy set of words, though it is has clear as day.
So far, the argument is as follows
- Polygamy is an insult to motherhood even though it's meant to help the orphans and their mothers
- The women are just running after these married men for no rhyme or reason, even though the parameters are clearly given in verse 4.3
- Step fathers cannot be good replacements for biological fathers. Of course, this is the one that makes the least sense to me. I've seen plenty of people raised by step fathers and they've blossomed into fine, productive citizens with a healthy appetite for life.

Peace again,
You are out of touch with reality.
Says who? You? He is perfectly legitimate and adoption is 100% permissible in light of the Quran. I live in the United States, and I've seen tons and tons of step fathers step up to the plate just fine. If rape and child abuse were such an issue, than this practice would have been outlawed a really long time ago. Obviously, such cases are not the NORM according to research. In most cases, the family adjusts to one another, and having a father figure is a very positive influence on the children. They don't have to forget their biological father, but they can respect and love this stepfather who has decided to love and protect them in this messed up world of ours. Not all men are perverts.
Oh, and out of touch with reality? My parents are from a third world country where such practices would probably take millions of children off the streets, and provide these women with some normalcy in their lives. If you're from a decent Western country or wealthy Arab country, there is no way you are going to be able to relate with realities of this world.
Secondly if a widow really wants a man in the house for the children she would logically go after a single man who could be there for the children all the time. Not a married man who would be absent at least half of his time since he would have many other wives and children as well.
The single, capable men are obviously not available. This is the whole point of the discussion. 4.3 exists because these men are not in abundance due to a drastic phenomenon that literally wiped them off the face of the earth (probably war)

So you mean up to 4 wives + 1 husband and a bunch of children living under same roof? Like the mormons?
If you had actually read the contents of this thread properly, you would have actually seen my arguments against polyandry and why it is not sanctioned within the Quran
.I couldnt find them, would you please repeat them? And I dont see any prohibtion of polyandry in the quran, so could you please show me whats the problem with polyandry quranically?
In many third world countries ravaged by war, it is mainly women that are destitute and become vulnerable within the society.
Wrong. Men are as vulnerable as women during war. Male prostitution normally occur during war time when large section of men become unemployed.
The men rarely become widowers in large numbers from wars (I'd like to see an example of this from somewhere in our history on Planet Earth)
You gotta be kidding me. Dont you even know that something is called male widows during war???
I dont even need to give you ''proofs''. Just use your brain cells a little bit and imagine this You are in Lebanon 2006 during war with israel. Israel drops a bomb in Beirut which hit a building where 22 women along with their children are killed. Most men were outside working that day, and they all became male widows.
Now does that sound so unrealistic to you that I have to post the link from the news channel before you open your eyes up to the concept of male widows?
It's definitely acceptable to sleep with a married man if you are married to him. I see polygamy under the circumstances I have highlighted as perfectly permissible. She isn't just some woman who is sleeping with them. She is his wife. Her children are now his step children, and will stand in line for the inheritance as well. All the above mentioned crap could fit perfectly into polyandry as well, which you hypocritically are against.

Give me some quranic references from your above quote. Secondly a person who has a mother is not an orphan. An orphan is someone without both parents.
You are denying children without a mother a family life as well by being against polyandry arent you?
An insult to motherhood? Yes, I'm sure the poor, destitute woman is going to be concerned with that so called insult, at the time that they are in dire need of proper family structure. Obviously, you really can't relate to the issue at all. God forbid you live in some land ravaged by war and anarchy.
I come from a third world country. You have still not giving me any proof for how a married stranger stepfather makes up a family structure. Single mothers arent a family according to you?
Because the single, capable men are not available in large numbers. This is the entire point of the discussion.
rotfl rotfl rotfl rotfl So according to you single men dont exsist rotfl
Now I better understand how you could come up with such stupid ideas, with all due respect. You are unknown to the fact that males also become divorcees, widows and simply arent married yet rotfl rotfl

No the war hasnt done that.

I have just read surah 4.3 , could you please tell me where it says that?
How many times have I told you that her kids is not his family. He is not the biological father hence dont have a fathers right upon them.
The majority of men wouldn't take such a huge financial and emotionally taxing situation on. The men and women who agree to this arrangement are of the most charitable, no matter how much your words seek to slander them
Majority of widows dont run after married men, and the majority of men try to be faithfull to their wives. Thats why you dont see married men going after widows for 'the sake of the children'.
What is charitable in getting married to a man who is already taken? In contradiction I find that extreme selfish. What do you think of a married woman taking a male widow ?
Chapter 4 justifies it. I have yet to see a justifiable explanation for 4.3 from any of the posters in regard to these three things context, grammar, and whether or not the "solution" even makes sense or not. No it doesnt. I understand chapter 4 compleately different from what you do. I dont see any mention of polygyny in chapter 4,3 at all.
I dont see any direct prohibition of neither polyandry or polygyny but nowhere do I see any encouragment of them either.
. Polygamy is an insult to motherhood even though it's meant to help the orphans and their mothers
2. The women are just running after these married men for no rhyme or reason, even though the parameters are clearly given in verse 4.3
3. Step fathers cannot be good replacements for biological fathers. Of course, this is the one that makes the least sense to me. I've seen plenty of people raised by step fathers and they've blossomed into fine, productive citizens with a healthy appetite for life.Wrong. The points are following
- Polygyny is an outdated idea. Women today work, have their family and welfare systems to fall back on, childcare etc. has been improving, and widows always have the option to marry a single man.
- Women running after married men are troublemakers, with no respect for themselves or others
- Stepfather cannot replace a biological father simply because he isn't the biological father. Just like a boyfriend cannot be a husband if you arent married to him, no matter how much you regard him as your 'husband' or just like a friend cannot be a sister if she isnt your sister.

I've have also seen tons of step fathers being abusive to their girlfriend or wives children.
Now lets look at the statistics
- sexual abuse by stepfathers is 5 times higher than among natural fathers, the most common age for onset of abuse is age 10
Source http//www.childabuse.com/fs19.htm
Childhood Sexual Abuse A Reference Handbook says on page 1 says that most sexual abuse of female children was commited by stepfathers.
In most cases, the family adjusts to one another, and having a father figure is a very positive influence on the children.
You missed the point. A stepfather is NOT the father of the children. They already lost their father figure. And who says that the children wants that step father by the way?
Oh I forgot, according to you single men dont exsist. Its only females who are single. So poor us women, we have no other choice then begging a married man to take us '(
And I forgot as well, having a mother figure is not important for the children according to you as well, thats why you are again polyandry right? ;D
You are so hypocrite as someone could be.
Oh, and out of touch with reality? My parents are from a third world country where such practices would probably take millions of children off the streets,
wrong. It wont. I am also from a third world country where polygyny is legal but we still have millions of children off the streets. Most of them actually have a father, but still lives on the streets.
You are so funny. You are promoting polygyny as the magic pill of world problems and polyandry as the evil behind problems rotfl

Peace brother . I will come back to the zawj issue later. Firstly tell me since you believe multiple wives are allowed .. Does the Quran according to your understanding allows multiple husbands as well?
Peace sister. Yes clear multiple wives are allowed in numerous verses and no the divorce and adultery laws would not allow a woman to marry simultaneously to multiple husbands nor would they allow more than one man to be married to the same woman at same time -- impossible she has to be divorced first.

Wrong. Men are as vulnerable as women during war. Male prostitution normally occur during war time when large section of men become unemployed.
Young men, usually boys. Not grown men, and who are they taken advantage by, the Amazon women?.
You gotta be kidding me. Dont you even know that something is called male widows during war???
Sure, a few here and there. It's men that make up the bulk of every international army in the world. They have the highest death toll from past wars. Look up death tolls according to sex, and you'll find the information you need.
I could have as many brain cells as you but still have this figured out, and by the way... you are referring to carpet bombing. Oh, so the men were working on which planet at the time these bombs fell? Or were they working in China at the time that the bomb was hit in Lebanon? Carpet bombing kills both the men and women population respectively. Now, Sudan and Afghanistan are suffering from a low in male population, which is usually the norm, as women are not as easily recruited in armies. Neither are the children.

Yes, one such site. Give me some current events from news websites please. I want things current since you don't want to go back in history, nor do you want to address the plight of third world countries that I ravaged by political corruption and poverty (the countries I am familiar with, that you have no idea about).
All the above mentioned crap could fit perfectly into polyandry as well, which you hypocritically are against.
It's not crap. This is God's law. You can call it crap til the cows come home, and it will still stand as God's wonderful law.
Give me some quranic references from your above quote. Secondly a person who has a mother is not an orphan. An orphan is someone without both parents.
Which quote? You have randomly talked about an above quote yet failed to produce it. Since it's a recent post, I am sure you will be able to find it quite easily.
You are denying children without a mother a family life as well by being against polyandry arent you?
I don't even understand your question.
I come from a third world country. You have still not giving me any proof for how a married stranger stepfather makes up a family structure. Single mothers arent a family according to you?
rotfl rotfl rotfl rotfl So according to you single men dont exsist rotfl
Laugh all you want dear, in the United States, step fathers are an asset. A father is an asset. Any kind of man willing to step to the plate, is an asset and a wonderful human being. To take care of a family that is not your own? What a responsibility. God bless those men. If you read my earlier posts, you would know of the children I am referring to. They are lost children. Fathers are the protectors and maintainers of a family. Every child deserves that.
Now I better understand how you could come up with such stupid ideas, with all due respect. You are unknown to the fact that males also become divorcees, widows and simply arent married yet rotfl rotfl
Nothing short of respect, but every single post of yours including the sarcasm, the laughing like a fool, and the outright denial of a step father's positive impact has been stupid. So, no problem there. Keep laughing hun. It will help you.
No the war hasnt done that.
Oh, okay. Well, I have you a list of websites that prove that it does.
I have just read surah 4.3 , could you please tell me where it says that?
43 And if you fear that you cannot be just to the orphans, then you may marry those who are agreeable to you of the women two, and three, and four. But if you fear you will not be fair, then only one, or to whom you are committed to by oath. This is best that you do not face financial hardship.
So, here is the verse, in case you have not seen it before. Or perhaps, the Quran you has that paged ripped out..or whatever the reason may be.
How many times have I told you that her kids is not his family. He is not the biological father hence dont have a fathers right upon them.
So, you are redefining families for God now? Where is your basis from the Quran? You don't have it, because you can't speak for God, good thing. Otherwise, we may be stuck with more children without fathers in the world, if it were up to you. My uncle is a step father to a young boy, who is thinks of him as his father. He obeys him and they do many extra curricular activities together. God bless that family. God bless my uncle. Thank God you didn't rule in that town and throw out that great opportunity for them.
Majority of widows dont run after married men, and the majority of men try to be faithfull to their wives. Thats why you dont see married men going after widows for 'the sake of the children'.
God says it's okay. Widows will do what is best for their kids. God allows it as the verse says. Noon waalqalami makes it clear as well, since you don't want to bother reading the contents of this thread.
What is charitable in getting married to a man who is already taken? In contradiction I find that extreme selfish. What do you think of a married woman taking a male widow ?
How can a married woman take anyone except MMA? It's not permissible, but then you'd have to actually read the contents of this thread, to understand that. Honestly, I know you have not done that, and God knows it too.
No it doesnt. I understand chapter 4 compleately different from what you do. I dont see any mention of polygyny in chapter 4,3 at all.
Really? So, what is 4.3 talking about? Why don't you provide us with your analysis? We would love to see it. Of course, you probably do not have one, yet are denying what is evident.
I dont see any direct prohibition of neither polyandry or polygyny but nowhere do I see any encouragment of them either.
Of course, you don't see it. How can you see it when you don't want to?
Wrong. The points are following
- Polygyny is an outdated idea. Women today work, have their family and welfare systems to fall back on, childcare etc. has been improving, and widows always have the option to marry a single man. God's laws are not outdated. Every country does not have a welfare system, perhaps you are one of the blessed ones, living in a welfare state.
- Women running after married men are troublemakers, with no respect for themselves or others Nope, they are following God's laws
- Stepfather cannot replace a biological father simply because he isn't the biological father. Just like a boyfriend cannot be a husband if you arent married to him, no matter how much you regard him as your 'husband' or just like a friend cannot be a sister if she isnt your sister.
Boyfriends are not permissible unless its a celibate relationship. Step fathers are 100% halal.
I think you need to prove how step fatherhood is forbidden in the Quran, since that's one of your flawed arguments.

Childhood Sexual Abuse A Reference Handbook says on page 1 says that most sexual abuse of female children was commited by stepfathers.
Yet, still step fatherhood is allowed. So, now what?
You missed the point. A stepfather is NOT the father of the children. They already lost their father figure. And who says that the children wants that step father by the way?
A lot of kids. Prove to me that children do not want a step father. You are living in a war torn country, there are attacks against your home, your mother is harassed on a daily basis, and you are worried about having a step father? Please. I'm out of touch with reality? Please.
Oh I forgot, according to you single men dont exsist. Its only females who are single. So poor us women, we have no other choice then begging a married man to take us '(
Yes, according to the above websites, there are shortages of single, capable men in these countries. Also, immigration policies make it difficult for outsiders to marry these women. These women comes with a lot of social baggage, many are not even wanting to marry them.
And I forgot as well, having a mother figure is not important for the children according to you as well, thats why you are again polyandry right? ;D
I'm not, God is though Makes sense to me though. Men and the maintainers and protectors of the family, so they are essential. Mothers are just as essential. However, we're talking about fatherless orphans here. Try to stay on task, thanks.
You are so hypocrite as someone could be.
Well, thank you for your opinion.
wrong. It wont. I am also from a third world country where polygyny is legal but we still have millions of children off the streets. Most of them actually have a father, but still lives on the streets.
We're talking about capable men marrying these women. Imagine a wealthy man in your country, married 3 of these women. He moves in all of the children into his home (or one of his homes), and becomes a father to these children. He provides shelter, good, clothing, education, etc. Nothing wrong in it if his first wife is okay with it.
You are so funny. You are promoting polygyny as the magic pill of world problems and polyandry as the evil behind problems rotfl
No, God is against polyandry. Polygyny is a magic pill for those who approach it willingly. It's God's law..not mine. You can take it up with him on the Day of Judgement.
I was just in the way of giving you some references to some statistics which would prove you outright wrong, but in order to let you recognize the stupidity of what you just said above Give me some proves on men being wiped off the face of the earth due to war.
I've given you quite a few websites. Some of those women in those articles, they may get married to married men who are willing to take care of them and children young ones. Most won't, because most initial wives will not allow for it. That's life. Though, the few that can be helped, they will be helped God willing.
I am waiting for that proof.
You will never see the proof, since you do not want to accept what God allows.
Peace
If I were you, I would try to understand the grammar among other things, since it's all about "how you feel". The world does not revolve around you, so please get off your high horse. Sometimes, the truth hurts, when you're so dead against it.

Peace sister. Yes clear multiple wives are allowed in numerous verses and no the divorce and adultery laws would not allow a woman to marry simultaneously to multiple husbands nor would they allow more than one man to be married to the same woman at same time -- impossible she has to be divorced first.

Thank you for bringing to light again the issue that women cannot marry in the same fashion as men. There is the issue of the internment period as well, and the verse you have just quoted. The rest of it is within this thread. Maha will have to read if she is genuinely interested. Though, she'll probably just laugh as usual.

I respect your deep knowledge of the quran, and indeed you have helped me a lot to understand several quranic issues especially regarding inheritance. But The above verse you just mentioned, can you please highligh for me where the prohibition of polyandry is, since I cannot see it ?

Release
I found some earlier posts of your regarding polyandry. Here they are
How do we call them by their father's name, if we do not know exactly is the father? Back in the day, we did not have the science and technology to do paternity tests. However, now we do. Still, in some areas of the world, it is difficult to attain paternity testing.
Quran is for all time hence it cannot prohibit polyandry on baes of paternity. We do have paternity testing, and yes its available even in Pakistan where I am orginally from. Moreover if a woman has a husband who cannot have kids, and if she takes one more husband and becomes pregnant it would be very obvious who the father is, no?
If a child was left at an orphanage, and we do not know who his or her father is, then this unintentional and there is no sin on us. However, if we deliberately make it so, that we do not know who the father is, then there is sin on us. We could have avoided the situation by simply not allowing for polyandry. It appears that the God requires us to preserve the lineage of an individual.
Already refuted above. Moreover who says that the lineage comes from the man alone? A child has half of his DNA from his mother as well, so his/her lineage comes from the mother as well..
Also, God tell us that men are the maintainers of women. It's not the other way around. Though, if we empower women, they usually are able to take care of themselves just fine. There isn't a single verse that tells us that women will maintain, protect, and care for men in her custody.
Its like saying that there isnt a single verse that tells us that women should drive a car. Well do you see any prohibition in the quran of women maintain, protect and care for men in custody? If you dont see any prohibition then it must be allowed. You are imposing your sexist ideas on the quran, stop that. We arent living in the stone ages anymore. Women are today police officers, in the military and many other places where they have power over other men. It may sound bad to you, but thats the reality.
I know that in remote parts of India and Nepal, polyandry still continues to this day. However, these people are not very concerned with lineage and requiring that the women maintain the men.
And why is that a problem for you?
Today, the practice is dying out even within their communities due to advancements in technology, and younger people moving into the cities
.Polygyny is also dying out the more modern a society gets, especially considering the past, just look at the West where its almost prohibited, its only small communities/sects who still practise that illegally. The more freedom women have, the less polygyny you see.
Was that really your best arguments against polyandry ;D
