What is Islam?
-
Beyond Religion -> Sunnatullah
DIN?this word has been used in various contexts, among them being ascendancy, sovereignty, management, conduct of affairs, ruling power, mastership, ownership, exercise of power, code of law, constitution, law of requital, an order. The Quran has described Islam as Ad-Din, which is generally translated as religion. However, in the light of the above meanings, it should be clear that this is not only incorrect, but distorts and negates the very meaning of din. Islam is not a religion (madhab), and it has never been described as one in the Quran. Islam is a way of life, a system, a code of law. In the external universe Islam signifies the Divine Order that governs life and the movement of the entire universe. The whole purpose of the Quran is to establish a universal order based on the Divinely ordained values of life. This is ad-din; <a href="http//www.tolueislam.org/Parwez/ICR/ICR.htm">Islam A Challenge to Religion</a>
Say, "O disbelievers,
I do not worship what you worship <- Prostrate to God Alone, accordingly, any god/religion.
Nor are you worshippers of what I worship <- Prostrate to Allah & Adam (Humanity), Sunnatullah.Nor will I be a worshipper of what you worship <- Religious People & God Alone Concept.
Nor will you be worshippers of what I worship <- Upright man - Unity, regardless of religion etc.For you is your deen <- Religion - Right or wrong - Fire Element.
and for me is my deen <- Deen - Unity - Sunnatullah - Justly balanced - Fire/Earth/Air/Water.

but he was (an) upright (man) <- showing a great concern for what is right, fair and truthful way
a Muslim <- defined by the above ayat - an upright man - obedience and justly balanced.
and he was not one of the polytheists <- Concern with right/wrong in religious matters - 3030-32Most surely the nearest of people to Ibrahim
are those
who followed him
and this Prophet
and those who believe
and Allah is the guardian of the believers

it will NEVER be accepted of him
and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers

Comparison
A comparative study of religion or madhhab, and din, should help us understand the vital and fundamental characteristics of each and the differences between the two
- Madhhab is merely some sort of subjective experience and is concerned only with the so-called private relationship between God and man.
Din is an objective reality and a system of collective life.
- Every follower of a madhhab is satisfied that he has established a communion with the Almighty, and the objective of each individual is his own salvation.
The aim of din on the other hand is the welfare and progress of all mankind, and the character and constitution of a society indicates whether or not it is founded upon the Divine Law.
- Madhhab does not afford us any objective. criterion by which we could determine whether or not our actions are producing the desired results.
In a social order governed by din, the development of a collective and harmonious life correctly indicates whether or not the people are pursuing the right course.
- Madhhab is hostile to scientific investigation and is an adversary of reason, so that it could flourish unhampered with the aid of a blind faith.
Din helps in the development of human reason and knowledge, allows full freedom to accept or reject on the basis of reason and arguments, and encourages investigation and discovery of all the natural phenomena to illumine the path of human life and its advancement in the light of the Permanent Values.
- Madhhab follows the susceptibilities and prejudices of men and pampers them.
Din seeks to lead men to a path of life that is in harmony with the realities of life.
- In every age, therefore, madhhab sets up new idols and mumbo-jumbos in order to keep the people's attention away from the real problems of life.
But din is rational and radical it breaks all idols, old and new, and is never variable in its principles.
- Madhhab induces a perpetual sense of fear in the minds of men and seeks to frighten them into conformity;
While din treats fear as a form of polytheism and seeks to make men courageous, daring and self-reliant.
- Madhhab prompts men to bow before every seat of authority and prestige, religious as well as temporal.
Din encourages man to walk about with his head erect, and attain self-confidence.
- Madhhab induces man to flee from struggle of life.
But din calls upon him to face the realities of life squarely, whatever the hazards.
- Madhhab treats the world of matter with contempt and calls upon man to renounce it. It promises paradise only in the Hereafter as a reward for the renunciation of the material world.
Din, on the other hand, enjoins the conquest of matter and leads man to immeasurable heights of attainment. It exhorts him to seek well-being and happiness in this world as well as felicity in the life Hereafter.
- Madhhab encourages belief in fatalism, and this tends to dissuade man from active life and self-development.
Din gives man power to challenge fate, and provides energy for a life of activity and self-development.
- Madhhab seeks to comfort the weak, the helpless and the oppressed with the belief that the affairs of this world are governed by the Will of God and that its acceptance and resignation helps to endear them to God. This sort of teaching naturally tends to morbidity, and emboldens their religious leaders who profess to interpret the Will of God, so that they indulge in their misdeeds with perfect impunity and persuade the adherents to a complete and quiet submission.
Din, on the other hand, raises the banner of revolt against all forms of tyranny and exploitation. It calls upon the weak and the oppressed to follow the Divine Laws and thereby seek to establish a social order in which all tyrants and oppressors will be forced to accept the dictates of right and justice. In this social order, there is no place for dictators, capitalists or priests. They are all enemies of din.
- Madhhab enjoins religious meditation in the name of worship and thus induces self-deception.
Din exhorts men to assert themselves and struggle perpetually for the establishment of the Divine Social Order, and its betterment when attained. Worship in din really means obedience to the Laws of God.
- Madhhab frowns and sneers at all things of art and beauty.
Din defies those who forbid the enjoyment of the good and beautiful things of life which God has created for the enjoyment of man.
- Madhhab denounces everything new and declares all innovation as sin.
Din holds that the needs and demands of human life keep changing with the change in the conditions of life; change and innovation are, therefore, demanded by life itself. Only the Divine Laws are immutable.
It should now be easy for us to see the fundamental difference between din and madhhab. Islam means saying "Yes" to life; while the response of religion is "No"!

It is, in fact, not an Ibada (iman and amal, burden of proof).

We will know what is the reality, universe and what is Allah. We are able to return our Shahada, and not as hypocrites; ie. those who will not benefit from the Shahada and no matter how many times he may have made that statement during his life.

From the above, we can see that the Qur'an teaches us how to balance and achieve justice ..
It is the "Ihdina assirata almustaqeem" (16); "..and you become three kinds.." (567)
Why it is about balance and just?
Because ...
We cannot change to what is right (just) in the fire element. -> unjust to the air, water and earth.
We cannot change to what is right (just) in the air element. -> unjust to the fire, water and earth.
We cannot change to what is right (just) in the water element. -> unjust to the fire, air and earth.
We cannot change to what is right (just) in the earth element. -> unjust to the fire, air and water.
We cannot change to what is right (just) in all these elements.
We cannot change what is wrong (unjust) in all these elements. However, we can balance the major and minor "right (just)" in all these elements.
ie. right 1 + right 2 + right 3 + right 4 and so on...For example
The degree of what is right.
25% wrong (unjust) -> means 75% right (just)
50% wrong (unjust) -> means 50% right (just)
75% wrong (unjust) -> means 25% right (just)
100% wrong (unjust) -> means 0% right (just)http//s11.postimg.org/hq4ht9ic3/humanunity.png
Can 0% or less than 50% wrong (unjust) be achieved?
Nope, because all these elements exist in all living creatures.
It is Sunnatullah, and Allah is The Just, Al-`Adl (ل.
Therefore, our real issue in life is why human are fighting each other and standing for what is right or wrong? (refer here)
Our real issue in life is why not stand up for human unity, based on what is just and balance?

..
A Muslim must now learn how to become Negotiator, Mediator and Conciliator. There is no religion and it is not about to spread Islam, since Islam is not a religion. It is about to spread peace, harmony and unity in the society. It's about benefiting humanity, kindness to His creation and giving to relatives. This is how people from different backgrounds and traditions are able to accept Islam by our Prophet Muhammad pbuh. Unconditional acceptance (respect) of world religious practices and balancing what is just to every living creatures. This is "Din of Islam".
Follow this rule....
O mankind, indeed We have created you
from male and female <- differences - What we can learn from husband & wife relationship?
and made you peoples How they can build family and unite under one roof?
and tribes How they balance their differences? Protect each other.
What about different species of animals? How they live?
that you may know one another <- unite and learn how to balance our life from othersIndeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah
is the most righteous of you <- justly balanced
Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.

Other forms of Shirk
The Flow of Ideas
Basically, Shirk relates to "ideas" that are inconsistent and against the ideas in the Qur'an. It is the "gods and ulamas inside ourselves" that count. Nothing can harm our relationship with Allah if we are not accepting these inconsistent "ideas" (<a href="http//quran.com/5/105">5105</a>.
Consequence Self Acceptance Human Ideas Self Action (Conduct)
vs. Qur'an IdeasNo Shirk <- Internal Self <- Consistent <- Prophet Sulaiman build statues
(Acceptance) Ideas for communication (<a href="http//quran.com/34/10-16">3410-16</a>Shirk <- Internal Self <- Inconsistent <- Worship Stone as God
(Acceptance) IdeasShirk <- Internal Self <- Inconsistent <- Worship Fire as God
(Acceptance) IdeasShirk <- Internal Self <- Inconsistent <- Worship Shiva as God
(Acceptance) IdeasShirk <- Internal Self <- Inconsistent <- Worship Jesus as God

(Acceptance) Ideas (<a href="http//quran.com/3/150">3150</a>(<a href="http//quran.com/3/64">364</a>(<a href="http//quran.com/17/56-57">1756-57</a>(<a href="http//quran.com/23/47">2347</a>(<a href="http//quran.com/40/29">4029</a>

http//static1.cargurus.com/gfx/cargurus/inventorylistings/circle_arrow_up_green_small.gif
HeartTherefore, the gods and ulamas are within ourselves. It is the "ideas" that are inconsistent with the Qur'anic Ideas.
Therefore our primary question in life is how far we are able to control the ideas within ourselves?
For the sake of testing ourselves and to realize the gods and ulamas inside ourselves, try to stop eating, drinking and sleeping for 3 straight days (72 hours). Are we able to achieve this target or we are still hypocrites? This is not suggested by the Qur'an, and only a simple self-test to prove the existence of gods and ulamas inside ourselves. A simple test to realize the flow of ideas within ourselves and how far we are able to control these ideas.
Do the people think
that they will be left to say,
"We believe"
and they will not be tried? But We have certainly tried those before them
and Allah will surely make evident
those who are truthful
and He will surely make evident
the liarsOr do those who do evil deeds think they can outrun Us?
Evil is what they judge
(<a href="http//quran.com/29/2-4">292-4</a>"...Allah has not made for a man two hearts in his interior..." (334)

Allah's Names by Just 99 Names ?. I think you are referring Hadith
Salam jhonsonmustafa,
Yes brother, for easy understanding and this thread is not related to Asma Ul Husna. You can open a new thread to discuss in depth about the names/attributes of Allah.
As for this thread, I'm referring to what is generally accepted by Muslim.
It is translated as The Best Identifiers ( 208 )
What is "Identifiers"?
one that identifies
Noun 1. identifier - a symbol that establishes the identity of the one bearing it
symbol - an arbitrary sign (written or printed) that has acquired
a conventional significanceTherefore, must Allah names/attributes be specific?
Not necessarily be specific names/attributes, and it is sufficient for us to understand Allah's attributes.
Further, there is nothing wrong to refer to a hadith on "the standard of justly balanced" (or refer to other religious books, and so as other books that relates to science, mathematics, philosophy, economy etc.), unless to those who belong to sects or religious dogma, whatever their names are (label/illusion).
Peace brother.
p/s If you don't mind.. I would like to ask "Whether waiting/hoping for a Messenger or savior to come and save us is a Shirk?" What is your opinion on the matter?

Salam,
For religious people.. yes, but I am not religious people, sorry.
Just and balance has no religion and it is the Deen of Islam.
Further, there is nothing wrong to refer to a hadith on "the standard of justly balanced" (or refer to other religious books, and so as other books that relates to science, mathematics, philosophy, economy etc.), unless to those who belong to sects or religious dogma, whatever their names are (label/illusion).
Ibrahim was not a Jew <- Ibrahim has no religion. So as Muhammad, not a Jew/Christian (religion).
nor a Christian http//api.ning.com/files/uGCxg7sZSOsBbNwvSUN0m6uFBP5OUvR7e-3lYPcnfzzdki1NKdfBKi*MBEzKhhqFLbCaNgzbOCTwHTwBFp0cz3nyqUP-l7F1/arrowDownSmall.png
but he was (an) upright (man) <- showing a great concern for what is right, fair and truthful way
a Muslim <- defined by the above ayat - an upright man - obedience and justly balanced.
and he was not one of the polytheists <- Concern with right/wrong in religious matters - 3030-32Most surely the nearest of people to Ibrahim
are those
who followed him
and this Prophet
and those who believe
and Allah is the guardian of the believers
(367-6I'm from Malaysia and practicing all faiths that are glorifying just and balance, whether it is from the hadith, other sects or any other religions. Islam rejects the idea of religion and the only way to reject all religions is to accept all religions. Peace!! )
peace brother.

for one of them We made two gardens of grape vines
and We surrounded them both with palms
and in the midst of them We made cornfieldsBoth these gardens yielded their fruits

and We caused a river to gush forth in their midstAnd he possessed much wealth
so he said to his companion, while he disputed with him
I have greater wealth than you, and am mightier in followers <- Shirk? This is what most people

while he was unjust to himself, He said <- On the issue of justly balanced within ourselves.
I do not think that this will ever perish <- This is also what most people would say.
And I do not think the hour will come i.e. not come within the next few hours, days, years etc.
and even if I am returned to my Lord <- Same, and most people believe they will be in Paradise.
I will most certainly find a returning place better than this Proof that he believe in Allah and the
Hour will come, but not in his lifetime.
His companion said to him while disputing with himDo you disbelieve in Him <- Shirk?
Who created you from dust
then from a small seed
then He made you a perfect man?But as for me
He, Allah, is my Lord
and I do not associate anyone with my Lord <- Who is "anyone" in this story context? Self? And wherefore did you not say when you entered your garden
It is as Allah has pleased, there is no power save in Allah?
If you consider me to be inferior to you in wealth and children
Then maybe my Lord will give me what is better than your gardenand send on it a thunderbolt from heaven
so that it shall become even ground without plant
Or its waters should sink down into the ground
so that you are unable to find it
And his wealth was destroyed
so he began to wring his hands
for what he had spent on it
while it lay, having fallen down upon its roofs, and he saidAh me! would that I had not associated anyone with my Lord
And he had no host to help him besides Allah
nor could he defend himselfHere is protection only Allah's

Therefore our primary question in life is how far we are able to control the ideas within ourselves?
Shirk in the form of a very fine, the pleasure felt while dzikr, salat or ibada etc, and which motivates us to do more ibada, salat or dzikr etc. It is so because our ibada will not be because of Allah, but because of the excitement performing ibada etc, ie. self. However, this is not necessarily damaging since we will be divided into three groups (567-10). It is just something to be taken into consideration, by those who wish to find the ultimate truth.
And the soul and Him Who made it perfect
Then He inspired it
to understand
what is right
and wrong for it
He will indeed be successful who purifies it
And he will indeed fail who corrupts it

Allah has not made for a man two hearts in his interior.

Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth
a likeness of His light is as a niche in which is a lamp
the lamp is in a glass
(and) the glass is as it were a brightly shining star
lit from a blessed olive-tree
neither eastern nor western
the oil whereof almost gives light though fire touch it not
light upon light
Allah guides to His light whom He pleases
and Allah sets forth parables for men
and Allah is Cognizant of all things

The key to understand justly balanced is always in the opposite condition (understanding of right and wrong, good or evil etc.), and mostly and mostly attainable at the highest level of condition. For example
To understand Ar-Rahman (The All-Compassionate) ...
We must fully understand the condition and "pleasure" of being treated harshly; (0).To understand Ar-Rahim (The All-Merciful) ...
We must fully understand the condition and "pleasure" of being treated cruelly; (0).To understand Al-`Adl (The Just) ...
We must fully understand the condition and "pleasure" of being treated unjustly; (0).and so on..
It was a tough one but only through this process our heart (glass) can become empty and we will rely entirely on Allah (no other option). Otherwise, we are relying on ourselves (ego) or others, not Allah.
Say He has power to send torment on you <- how Allah guide us to what is just and balance?
from above
or from under your feet
or to cover you with confusion in party strife
and make you to taste
the violence of one another
See how variously We explain the Ayat
so that they may understand.
(665)Example on the standard required to attain righteousness
By no means shall you attain to righteousness
until you spend (benevolently)
out of what you love
and whatever thing you spend
Allah surely knows it
(392)And they ask you as to what they should spend (sadaqah)
Say What you can spare
Thus does Allah make clear to you the communications
that you may ponder
(2219)The recommended method for obedience of the Qur'an is initially through mastering the ibada of fasting (days), sadaqah, reading the Qur'an or dzikr and while doing good to others.
This is the Book (the Quran)
whereof there is no doubt
a guidance to those who are Al-Muttaqun <- The first condition to understand the Qur'an.
(22) Other than Al-Muttaqun?Therefore, first objective = becoming Al-Muttaqun
Fast "..decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you
that you may become righteous.." (2183)
http//api.ning.com/files/uGCxg7sZSOsBbNwvSUN0m6uFBP5OUvR7e-3lYPcnfzzdki1NKdfBKi*MBEzKhhqFLbCaNgzbOCTwHTwBFp0cz3nyqUP-l7F1/arrowDownSmall.png
Sadaqah "..Take from their wealth a charity by which you purify them
and cause them increase.." (9103)And in no way will you (even) be a guide to the blind out of their errancy
decidedly you will not make any to hear
except for the ones who believe in Our signs
and so they are Muslims (i.e., those that surrender to Allah)

7750 Then in what statement (by Bukhari Hadith )after the Qur'an will they believe?Salam jhonsonmustafa,
I believe you are reading the ayat out of its context and its true meaning.
RED Can you please explain verse 7750?
This is the Day of Judgement
We will have assembled you and the former peoples
So if you have a plan, then plan against Me
Woe, that Day, to the deniers
Indeed, the righteous will be among shades and springs
And fruits from whatever they desire
, "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do"
Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.
Woe, that Day, to the deniers
, eat and enjoy yourselves a little
indeed, you are criminals
Woe, that Day, to the deniers
And when it is said to them, "Bow," (ir'ka) they do not bow
Woe, that Day, to the deniers
Then in what statement after the Qur'an will they believe? <- relating to those who deny the
(7738-50) Day of Judgement? Doing good?ir'ka
= Ra-Kaf-Ayn = bowed, bent, incline, humility, humble yourself, lower the head, fell upon his face, stumbled. And I don't understand why are referring to 22.
This is the Book about which there is no doubt
a guidance for those conscious of Allah
(22)Where did Allah say it is shirk to follow what is justly balance?
Where did Allah command us to reject signs not in the Qur'an?
The risk of reading ayat out of its true meaning or context..
Do you covet
that they would believe for you

and then distort the Torah after they had understood it
while they were knowing?

"Setting up partners" is not exclusive to the act of "creation". It's the setting up of partners of ANY kind including partners in source of guidance.
Hadith should be treated like any essay or article here on free-minds. Otherwise, you're risking setting up partners with God.
