        Salam

        Facts

"... And those who guard their private parts. Except from their wives or those their right hands possess..." (7029-31)

        Analysis

        And those
who guard <- What is "guard"? Scope?
their private parts <- What is "private parts"? Scope?
Except <- The implication of the word "except"? An exclusion to all other than marriages?
        from
their wives <- Is it referring to "marriage"? What is "wives"?

        Question

Whether Allah has permitted "marriage" (or those their right hands possess) and PROHIBIT EVERYTHING ELSE?

(ie. same-sex marriage, homosexuality, masturbation, child marriage, animal sex, polygamy, incest etc)

        Peace

Got to the point where we want to conclude something about "homosexuality" by seeing whether it is normal or abnormal or whether animals do it or not do it I think it is completely pointless. Murder is normal, Humanity has been murdering since a long time ago, robbing also, and doing self damning things too. I wouldn't go by anything being normal in order to draw a moral conclusion of it. Mistreating women has also been very, very normal, nothing wrong with it and very much practiced. The question is not that.

Besides evrything about sex and how we feel about it is in the mind. In the associations we make. I am sure, for men who dislike women, there is some association which makes it peinful for them to even evisage their closeness. I can see that anybody can feel agttratected to the same sex, because if we consider mere physical pleasure or excitation, sex is ragther universal, and people enjoy also with toys and with themselves, so in the case where one dislikes de other sex, there is no doubt that there is a mental -or emotional reflected on the mental- association who makes us avoid or even hate such contacts. Of course there is also the hormonal part, but which is first? Do not mental images also switch on or off the hormones? If we are enticed and suddenly and suddely somebody causes us strong pain, like burns us or kicks us, I think the hormones switch right off.

To say that because it is a mental or emotional association what causes being repelled by the opposite sex, that reppelling can be overcome by merely thinking of it, would be overoptimistic. Painful disorders may not be innate but they are real.

So the question regarding "homosexuality" as many disorders is not whether it is "normal" or not, but what we want out of our lives and what we in fact can get out of our lives. And that has nothing to do with defining this as natural or normal or unnatural or abnormal, but with our own decision. Men and women are lovely, most of us could be attracted to any for the matter of enjoyment, not to allow ourselves to be drawn into that is not a matter of feeling or not feeling attraction but a matter of what we want out of our lives, what kind of person we want to be.

Many time it entails not sex at all with any person, for the simple reason that what we want out of life is not the mere physical pleasurable exercise, but what the Qur'an enjoins, a deep spiritual, profound, sacred relationship, but there may be a scarcity of people with whom that would be possible or there may be none at all. Because also, there comes also into the mix the individual make up and feelings and every person has its own character and likes or dislikes.

So in the end, that also is a struggle a jihad in our lives, to live up to the principles we hold, and it is up to the individual to the make his or her way through them in the conditions he or she finds himherself.

But ultimately we are not passive sufferers of a "natural" or "unnatural" condition, we make choices in life, and rather than choices we should reflect and think and take decisions. It is our responsibility.

          Salaam

What I'm amazed at is how some people are very quick to judge homosexuals as non-muslims. I'm amazed at how people's own entrained culture and emotional standpoint can so easily make us judge others as non-muslim. What is homosexualiity? Isn't it basically an attraction towards the same sex? How can this alone and in itself be the reason why we would be non-muslim? If this is the case, and if just this one variable alone is enough to tilt us over to the non-muslim side, then there must be millions of other things that would render us non-muslim. One such thing would be the habit of judging others.

I find it hard to believe that sexual mindset would spoil it for a person who otherwise believes in God, does good etc. Is this one unforgivable sin, while other sins are forgivable? I find it hard to understand why some people are so confident in judging others. Does homosexuality always imply the condition of non-muslim? We are all full of sin/rejection/rebellion/blindness/arrogance/ignorance... is homosexuality exceptionally bad among human inclinations and expressions?

Where does it say i'tiqad or creed involves human action?

              Definition of Creed or I'tiqad

              creed noun \krd
a statement of the basic beliefs of a religion

an idea or set of beliefs that guides the actions of a person or group

1 a brief authoritative formula of religious belief
2 a set of fundamental beliefs; also a guiding principle

              creed (krd)
              n.

              1. A formal statement of religious belief; a confession of faith.
              2. A system of belief, principles, or opinions laws banning discrimination on the basis of race or creed; an architectural creed that demanded simple lines.

How hard for you to show one ayat to prove a Muslim can I'TIQAD NOT TO "surrenders and submits to the laws of God", and still be a Muslim?

Call anyone you like, just show me one ayat from the Qur'an.

              Salam

People must be able to distinguish between "behaviour" (amal) and "I'tiqad"(creed or decisive belief)

being a gay and with an i'tiqad (creed) to reform and obey Allah is a muslim (refer here)
but being a gay with an i'tiqad (creed) to remain as a gay and disobey Allah is a non-muslim (refer here)

              similarly

being a prostitute with with an i'tiqad (creed) to reform and obey Allah is a muslim
but being a prostitute with an i'tiqad (creed) to remain as a prostitute and disobey Allah is a non-muslim

              similarly

being a sunni with with an i'tiqad (creed) to reform and obey Allah is a muslim
but being a sunni with an i'tiqad (creed) to remain as a sunni and disobey Allah is a non-muslim (REFER HERE)

              It always require both

              iman and amal
faith (creed or decisive belief) and action (behaviour)

to make someone muslim or non-muslim.

That's why the words "believed and done righteous deeds" is always put together in the Qur'an (REFER HERE).

Further, there is no such thing as "Disobedience Muslim" or "Half/Hybrid Muslim" in the Qur'an.

Such has been the course of Allah that has indeed run before
and you shall not find a change in Allah's course
              (4823)

              And We said O Adam!
Dwell you and your wife in the garden
and eat from it a plenteous (food) wherever you wish
and DO NOT approach this tree <- an example of the "DO NOT" prohibition (unintentionally).
for then you will be of the unjust
But the Shaitan made them both fall from it <- Consequences
and caused them to depart from that (state) in which they were
and We said Get forth, some of you being the enemies of others
and there is for you in the earth an abode and a provision for a time
              (235-36)

Adam would be a non-muslim if it is intentionally and without the influence of Shaytan. (REFER HERE)

              Peace

p/s I'm sure those who read the Qur'an will not be surprised if the majority will be in the hellfire, abide eternally. It has been decided. (REFER HERE)

I don't really expect this would come from those who read the Qur'an.

Seems like most people are attached to their "wishful thinking" and hate the words of Allah. Proven!

Guess I'll be banned soon or later, just like the Sunni and Shia Forum. yay

And when Allah is mentioned alone
the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter shrink with aversion
but when those other than Him are mentioned
                      immediately they rejoice

If you sign twenty thousand contracts you will not make anybody to be born. But a one night stand can... But we do not want that to be marriage. Too bad for us, we are not conscious of the wombs, not conscious of the gifts.

Interesting, never thought of it like that. Thank you huruf for your thoughtful posts.

muslims, many probably think you're debating with yourself on most of the threads, they just never say it out loud. Take a look at your exchange with MoF...my own personal experience is similar. That you choose to bring up banning on a random comment reveals more of your state of mind rather than anything else. Please read the Forum Rules if banning is on your mind.

                                Salaam,

I asked for an ayat that tells homosexual people are non-Muslims and I received no response and instead accusations of being opinionated instead of factual because I said that personal behavior is far more important than anything else in Islam. And I asked if this could be denied. It is my understanding of Islam that most of it has to do with one's own behavior than anything else. Be mindful of God and purify oneself.

Will you disagree that behavior is more important than religious perfection? Simple arrogance is among the worst traits God knows if you read the Quran the way I do and better very kind and helpful than arrogant and religious strict and proper. Mr. Good Heart vs. Mr. Perfect - What to prioritize if one would have to choose?

                                God bless you

"Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus ?God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.? But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ?God, be merciful to me, a sinner!? I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted. "
                                  Luke 18

                                    Salaam,

The mistake people make, including on here, is that they over-interpret the scripture/Message and forget the fundamental criteria in it without perceiving it themselves in search for exact details for everything. Quran is a guidebook and not a detailed walk-through on how to live your life. It gives "hints" on how to best live ones life and teaches this edge knowledge and as long as one keeps these hints in the mind while making on-the-fly decisions in life they will be Muslims. God is not a tyrant god that wants military discipline and perfectionism everywhere but is very understanding and loving as long as you serve Him alone and have a good heart as I mentioned in my previous post. Simply gaining absolute certainty and reassurance that God is really real and purifying oneself through good deeds using a good heart is a winning concept. It is actually the starter goal for a Muslim, so more than becoming a perfectionist in all regards, to gain absolute certainty and purify oneself through good deeds and behavior. And do not come asking for an ayat as the whole Quran shines with this testimony. Then I will just recommend you to re-read the Quran... over and over again until you see the pattern, if you are blessed to be able to comprehend and not cursed by God due to ill-behavior.

Purifying oneself you do by being mindful of God and being good. Ultimately the most important aspect of God's religion/system. It is really as simple as "Good vs. Evil". But gaining God's favor takes some steadfastness and God will probably test your faith through various hardships, or rather let Shaytaan carry out his evil. But once have gained His favor then you have a powerful ally to lean on. The purer you are the less God will expose you to problems though as God does not really need to try you more as He will trust you. And this is related to my thread "Nearness and Guidance -> Knowledge and Wisdom -> Peace and Prosperity" where this above point can be seen as "Peace and Prosperity" as you have the previous criteria and actively receives like a buff of Peace and Prosperity directly from the Lord.

Not saying people around you do not commit stupid things if they are afflicted by Shaytaan and can make you sad, but they will never make you lose as long as you are steadfast and trust that the Lord will protect you from them ruining your life. A good believing aura can spread, but it is difficult to affect a severe Shaytaanic infection. The best Peace and Prosperity will come in the afterlife where you are rid of those who follow their own vain desires.

Anyway, be good people, be good. Give a dollar or two to the beggar on the side of the street or the fraud that asks around the corner too. The money does not matter much for the short term you are here anyway. It is just a temporary gain. Live moderately and throw money all around you (to those who need) and you will follow the example of Messenger Jesus. The stingy will never reach Heaven unless a camel passes through the eye of a needle, as allegedly said by Jesus, and it is probably true that this expression was ever used.

Ignite the Messenger spirit now I say, to follow a good example set by God. God is the One, our Sovereign and King. Love your neighbor as yourself, and even the gay next-doors.

                                    God bless you

Thanks brothers and sisters, together we will make the Earth a better place until the Day. Jafar, your story with the tax collector and the Pharisee is absolutely fabulous. There you have one of the more perfect examples really. I am in no doubt that Jesus actually said that as he spoke the words of God.

Anyway, since when did God forbid as from having opinions as long as we follow His main criteria? When? When? It smells conjecture and military style god.

                                      God bless you

What I'm amazed at is how some people are very quick to judge homosexuals as non-muslims. I'm amazed at how people's own entrained culture and emotional standpoint can so easily make us judge others as non-muslim. What is homosexualiity? Isn't it basically an attraction towards the same sex? How can this alone and in itself be the reason why we would be non-muslim? If this is the case, and if just this one variable alone is enough to tilt us over to the non-muslim side, then there must be millions of other things that would render us non-muslim. One such thing would be the habit of judging others.

                                        Very well-said brother...

"Try to uplift suffering. If you can't at least don't cause one!".
