Hi everyone, This has been bothering me a while. As I see it there are various interpretations and understanding of the quran. From translations to the true locations and everything in between there seems to be different opinion. Even for those who seek the truth the confusion is only growing. If quran was made easy to understand why is this so? What is the essence of the message? Why is that instead of uniting quran creates more division ? What truly was the purpose of such a venture?

Blame the official clerics who thought they were the ones who had the right to interpret Quran. And of course, the corruptions from bukhari and friends. They mixed their own rituals and opinions with Quran verses. Hence the confusion we are going through.

I don't think Quran is creating division. Its just critical thinking that we are using. Allah gives us the right to do so.

      peace

One must learn that all Allah expects with Quran is for people to have affinity and be thoroughly light and good spiritual souls, and then a thousand pages of elaboration on guidelines on how to accomplish such through certain character traits. The rest is conjecture when it comes to religious (Pagan) practices.

        Have faith

The Quran is perfectly understandable. This is an objective property/quality of the Quran. It contains verses coming from an intelligence (God) that is infinitely superior to man. It contains no contradiction, no error nor falsehood.

Does this mean every man/woman can understand the Qurans true message? No. We are perfectly capable of misunderstanding anything even the simplest of texts or even sentences. This is a property/quality of human reasoning and language. Not of Quran.

The disputes about its meaning are a product of human shortcomings and limitations. They are fabrications of our limited minds.

If you are looking for truth, it's always there to be found in Quran. Don't listen to others, we don't know what their agendas or misunderstandings are.

I would even dare to say the Quran is this intelligent in design, the perfect clear verses can be interpreted as proof of the contrary of its true meaning if your heart is not opened by Gods will. This is not by mistake. It's designed to catalyze the believer from the disbeliever even during the process of reading it.

A certain levels we have our own level and we cannot get things that pertain to higher levels of spiritual enlightment and wisdom, so there each perosn is limited by his or her own development limitations.

HOWEVER, where it comes to clear questions, clear injontions, the Qur'an is anything but unclear. It is crystal clear. No ambiguity. I doubt there is anything lcearer than the Qur'an. Where people have been unable to absorb the clarity of Qur'an they have come up with their own muddledness, but it is their interpretations which many times runs to phantasy and ridicule, but that is not because the Qur'an would be unclear bit it just does not match people axigences or expectations. Proof 4.34. The meetin og croos purposes where the Qur'an clarity is confronted with peoples expectations of self delusion.

            Salaam

Quran is easy for each one if he individually turns to God for guidance through Quran. Whatever he understands from within himself is from His self and clear in vision. Quran is intuitive and purely subjective to one's own self; and it does not fit to common understanding. When Quran is brought on to a common platform it is only to exchange one's guided experience through his own comprehension. Thus except the applied Quran, the translations and interpretations are out of context and idle talks.

Turn away from 'self-styled muslim' identity, turn away from the mosques and the clergies and become a human being, then there is Allah to teach each of us individually, the easiest guidance through Quran. If we do not call ourselves as muslims, Allah will make us live and die as Muslims.

The core guidelines, e.g. be honest/charitable etc are simple to understand by anyone and are rarely, if ever, debated. Apply the core stuff, then continue to study etc, and apply as you learn.

No point in trying to run if one cant walk. Development is a gradual process.

                Please bear in mind 37

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

                  bravo

                  Salam Wakas.

I support this understanding. It also appeared to me that the generic topics that concern everyone (e.g. honesty, charity, mercy, respect for others etc.) are covered with verses which are easy to understand and use simple metaphors (if any). On the otherhand matters relating to finer theological argument (matters relating to afterlife, nature of God and the soul, prophecies etc.) or matters that the leaders of the community are primary owners (e.g. war related topics, intestate inheritence, punishment for crimes etc.) have been covered with more sophesticated metaphors, and indirect arguments. As long as the intension is honest (to seek guidance) - the Qur'an is easy to understand according to every reader's individual appetite.

May Allah guide us all to the straight route.

                  Regards,
                  Arman

                    Harmony be with you,

                    The Quran is perfectly understandable.

                    Is it?

95 So when the restricted months have passed, then you may kill the polytheists wherever you find them, and take them, and surround them, and stand against them at every point. If they repent, and they hold the contact prayer, and they contribute towards purification, then you shall leave them alone. God is Forgiving, Merciful.

912 And if they break their oaths after making their pledge, and they challenge the authority of your system; then you may kill the leaders of rejection. Their oaths are nothing to them, perhaps they will then cease.

The traditional and commonly accepted translations also advocate beating of wives, polygamy, misogyny, cutting of hands etc etc.

                    So is it "perfectly understandable"?

This is an objective property/quality of the Quran. It contains verses coming from an intelligence (God) that is infinitely superior to man. It contains no contradiction, no error nor falsehood.

That is not entirely true. The one who assimilates that of God this person is as superior as it. Qur'an contains no error or falsehood because it is written by a person who was of affinity with God and assimilated in the realm. That does not mean that another text written does have to contain errors, falsehood or contradiction.

And another text can convey the same knowledge as Qur'an does, in another literary sense. It is the literary sense Qur'an says it is inimitable. A prophet who came, a man like Jesus, could convey information just the same as Qur'an conveys, and the man said "My words are not my own but of the one who sent me".

Does this mean every man/woman can understand the Qurans true message? No. We are perfectly capable of misunderstanding anything even the simplest of texts or even sentences. This is a property/quality of human reasoning and language. Not of Quran.

                    Seconded.

The disputes about its meaning are a product of human shortcomings and limitations. They are fabrications of our limited minds.

Yes. Basically it is the (derived) conjecture that humans are disputing about.

If you are looking for truth, it's always there to be found in Quran. Don't listen to others, we don't know what their agendas or misunderstandings are.

This is not always applicable. To be able to comprehend Qur'an we need to be able to read it. If we listen to translations or interpret it using man-made interpretation of words then we do listen to others even if some may argue this means not listening to others. The truth is in Qur'an, but you need to be able to interpret it first.

I would even dare to say the Quran is this intelligent in design, the perfect clear verses can be interpreted as proof of the contrary of its true meaning if your heart is not opened by Gods will. This is not by mistake. It's designed to catalyze the believer from the disbeliever even during the process of reading it.

Well most people have even derived a completely different faith system from the text so I tend to second that.

                    Have faith

Brother, you know the people who created these interpretations. I feel it was intentional. brickwall And yes, how many Sunnis and Shias truly read Quran without commentary from hadith books?

Only Quran only Muslims want to understand Quran without being plugged to matrix.

It depends on the one reading the Quran that will determine if it is easy or not!

It is perfectly understandable. You don't have to take my word for it. This is what Quran says about itself. I don't see what point you are trying to make by citing distorted meanings. Those aren't Quranic citations. They are corrupted translations ripped out of context. It's perfectly fine to admit we don't always understand Quran but Quran is perfectly understandable. Do you see how those two things next to eachother are not contradicting?

That is not entirely true. The one who assimilates that of God this person is as superior as it. Qur'an contains no error or falsehood because it is written by a person who was of affinity with God and assimilated in the realm. That does not mean that another text written does have to contain errors, falsehood or contradiction.

Well in my opinion any human book contains error, falsehood or contradiction. Feel free to think differently. But I think you are overestimating human capabilities to deal with objective truths. We discriminate subjectively by nature - it's how perception works.

And another text can convey the same knowledge as Qur'an does, in another literary sense. It is the literary sense Qur'an says it is inimitable. A prophet who came, a man like Jesus, could convey information just the same as Qur'an conveys, and the man said "My words are not my own but of the one who sent me".

It can't. If you think it can please bring your proof. It's a void statement Jesus would have been able to do the same if God chose to do so. Fact is God didn't chose to do so and all we have is this Quran. So what non-existing book are you talking about that can match Quran?

                            It depends..
It's easy to understand by it's intended audiences..

It will be hard for a chinese (for example) to read the Quran, first it's not in their tongue or script, second they don't recognize the characters being mentioned in the book (Which are mostly Jewish), third they're not aware of any cultural context or nuances on the story being told in the book.

The next question will be Does a chinese really need to understand or even be aware of a book named Quran?
                            The answer is NO

So what's really the "Essence of the Message"?
I left you to ponder on that question...

That question is very easy to answer. It is a reminder. We humans tend to return to our bad habits and forget about God.

Not all.. only some... that's why there's an 'intended audiences' of the book..

As when the reminder is being ignored there will be consequences...

Electrical company will sent out a reminder to pay the bills only to those who do not pay the bills..
For good subscribers who always pay the bill in time, they shall not received any reminder.
The reminder is being written as such that it will be easily understood..... by those who forgot to pay their bills.
If the reminder is being ignored, then they will stop receiving the electricity as a consequences..
And such consequences is also being written out within the reminder.... using words that can be easily understood.... by it's intended audience..

In my opinion the perfect human being doesn't exist. We all have our sins and shortcomings. Therefor the audience includes each and everyone of us. What an electrical company expects of you is you to pay in time. God expects a lot more from us. I don't know anyone, including myself that never sinned in his or her life against one of those standards set out by Gods decree.

Well. In ways I tend to agree with you, but only if you read it the way it was intended to be read. Then it is easily understandable.

You are right. I was citing distorted meanings, but it is also testament to how easy it is for certain people to not understand it. The original Arabic is perfectly understandable, unless you follow pretenders who turned interpretation chaotic. If 99.9% of translations are inaccurate and gravely misrepresenting the message, then I do not call it perfectly understandable, if you get my point. The Qur'anic Arabic needs cleansing, if you comprehend what I mean, like washing the surface of a dirty stone tablet with an inscription on it, which is is barely readable.

Well in my opinion any human book contains error, falsehood or contradiction. Feel free to think differently. But I think you are overestimating human capabilities to deal with objective truths. We discriminate subjectively by nature - it's how perception works.

It is all depending on the author, his/her spiritual ascension and how honest this person is, and how careful this person is. A reviewed text does not need to contain error or contradiction, nor falsehood. And it was a person who wrote Qur'an once upon a time and not God, a prophet who prophesied and not God, even if this person stood in contact with his Sustainer.

But this is not really the point, it is the literary style which is supposed to be inimitable. The inimitable statement is quite implicit, you need to know why states that.

It can't. If you think it can please bring your proof. It's a void statement Jesus would have been able to do the same if God chose to do so. Fact is God didn't chose to do so and all we have is this Quran. So what non-existing book are you talking about that can match Quran?

You do not understand the concept of God. Jesus said that he was in the Father and the Father was in him. A person who is assimilated and enlightened by God is expressing knowledge as if it could have been the same level of wisdom as God. Jesus expressions in the Biblical Gospels can match the wisdom of Qur'an, simply because the wisdom comes from the same well.

An error that you recite is that you choose to pick 'ketaab' as a physical book and hence cause Qur'an to be thereby, but that word refers to knowledge.

And Qur'an is not all that we have; we have abstract knowledge and a possibility to get assimilated into the spiritual realm. Qur'an is a guiding source, but it is not the only way as long as you emulate the same kind of spiritual insight, and a person who has gained the knowledge and wisdom of the Lord can show that on an equal level. A person who knows the 'Commandments', or as I call them 'Guidelines', of nearly 4000 years ago have with a spiritual ascension the same possibility as the man who has Qur'an, because they point in the same direction both of them.

And if the man with Qur'an trusts people, who have claimed to have insight in the interpretation of Qur'an, it cannot help him at all. Most people know about the list of guidelines, and Jesus elaborated upon them and as one of authority, and showed the spiritual nature of those lines. There is immense wisdom to be held without ever in your life opening Qur'an.

So what non-existing book are you talking about that can match Quran?

I talk about that book which may be in your head.

In my opinion the perfect human being doesn't exist. We all have our sins and shortcomings. Therefor the audience includes each and everyone of us. It all depends on how much you indulge in the flesh/your beast. You could theoretically be a very good person if you became fully assimilated in the spiritual realm. But verily, God, the foundation, is the only perfect entity.

Usually the struggle is to keep sinning at minimum. One of the more difficult guidelines is the one about lying, because it can be tempting to lie instead of having a complicated discussion. It is possible to avoid getting in the situation in the first place though that creates the situation where you feel inclined towards lying.

                                        Have faith

Beside the point Quran is still perfectly understandable. You are only proving people are capable of misunderstanding.

It is all depending on the author, his/her spiritual ascension and how honest this person is, and how careful this person is. Who wrote Quran is irrelevant. The author is God. There is not one line in Quran that comes from the prophet Muhammads mind.

But this is not really the point, it is the literary style which is supposed to be inimitable. The inimitable statement is quite implicit, you need to know why states that.

You are completely misunderstanding the challenge. It is not talking about literary quality at all.

You do not understand the concept of God. Jesus said that he was in the Father and the Father was in him. How much you feel I understand God or not is irrelevant for me but I do find the statement rather offensive. Fact remains Jesus did not produce a scripture that is still intact today like Quran is. So what you are saying is nothing but speculation and hypothesis.

An error that you recite is that you choose to pick 'ketaab' as a physical book and hence cause Qur'an to be thereby, but that word refers to knowledge.

Please dont put words into my mouth. I know better how I define 'ketaab' and its not only a physical book. But 'ketaab' still corresponds with the Quran in book format we have today. Maybe you are misunderstanding, it's irrelevant if you consider it being a physical book or not. They are identical.

And Qur'an is not all that we have; we have abstract knowledge and a possibility to get assimilated into the spiritual realm. Sure Quran is not the only source. But it's the best reminder we have available to us.

It all depends on how much you indulge in the flesh/your beast. You could theoretically be a very good person if you became fully assimilated in the spiritual realm. But verily, God, the foundation, is the only perfect entity.

Well that's all nice and well but fact is, ever since Quran was revealed not one such person has risen up and produced a similar Quran.
