I must say this is the impression I also get.

It is unfortunate that not once has the OP referred to any objective evidence.

Also, the alleged debunking of scientific information in Quran is primarily related to the debunking of Hadith-based Quran interpretation.

I acknowledge that that answer you quoted of mine is nto particularly "charitable". On the other hand, may be I have become hardened to this kind of thing and I guess I do not feel, wrongly or rightly, that patience with it, is not so much appreciated.

Obviously I am sure that those who answer do not not for the sake of the OP but for other people who indeed may want to learn. I am sorry if my impatience rub those the wrong way. But thanks, wakas, for your understanding.

    Salaam

Hi everyone, looking at all the replies my initial suspicion in only growing. That quran is easy to understand is a misnomer. Most of the current translations only confuses people.it is anything but clear and not at all structured. The subjects are mentioned in very haphazard manner. The idea that one needs to be grounded on history and sahih hadith to understand quran is also not correct. Since the entire history seems to be made up for whatever reasons. The science of quran has been debunked several times . The belief that quran explains or contains scientific facts is only an urban legend. The idea that somehow quran will open up magically to those who seek is also suspect. If it is true then I haven't seen or heard anyone with the true divine knowledge. Which again brings us back to crux of our discussion what exactly was the purpose of quran? Seems jafar has a point. We may not be the intended audience of the quran and that may be why we all get so worked up and muddled looking for answers. Maybe because there is none..

Many fell into the trap of worshiping a humanly written books as an idol...
Namely (for a few) Quran, Tanakh, Gospel, Hadith and any combination of it...

Quran might NOT open up magically to those who seek..
But God definitely will gives answer to those who asked the question.. and will give clue to those who ponder and will give revelation to those who seek out...
God's message will be delivered in 'very customized manner', to ensure easy understanding of those who received the message..
And it's working up until today and into the future...

The most ridiculous claim that the religious / books worshiper has made so far is that God has STOPPED the revelation...
And his/her holy human made idol/book is the LAST revelation.
      Which is totally not true...

      Salam / Peace

Hi everyone, thank you for your time and kind replies. In the event if there is a misunderstanding let me clear it. I am not a native speaker of Arabic and I try to shape my understanding on reading different works and opinions. I have been visiting this site for some years and it has helped me a lot in forming a valuable opinion. I joined this group and started posting hoping to get answers which I do not have. If i sound sceptical and critical that is intentional because it comes after a quite a journey correcting my understanding or misunderstanding. Whatever I have been fed was a lie. So I had to take this critical approach questioning everything and everyone. But rest assured my true intentions are noble and I am seeking all of your help as a student. I am also influenced by the morass muslims find now in. We muslims are digging deep into a pit where there is no coming back. Coming back to the topic about quran being easy to understand , lot of opinions were raised. From understanding or performing simple acts like charity, honesty etc. this may be part of quran but we don't need any scriptures to understand the importance of goodness or such qualities. We have an inbuilt moral compass which helps us to determine what is right and what would be good. A person can be good by his own efforts . Looking at the thousands of topic in this forum it's hard to agree that quran was easy to understand. If it was easy we wouldn't be here discussing and analyzing so much.

Hi jafar, thank you. I try to ask some critical questions because as you said I am trying to vett my understanding . Maybe I have missed something that I haven't thought of? Maybe my understanding has lot of holes? I do have some general understanding which are as follows

          1. Islam is not a religion
          2. There is no diety or anthromorphic god
          3. Humans were tasked with the responsibility of protecting earth and all it's inhabitants
          4. Quran promotes critical thinking and instructs to acquire knowledge.
          5. Quran promotes a just social order based on equality and liberty.
          6. Only a just knowledge based society can truly achieve the vision of quran.
          7. There is no shariah as currently understood. A society based on critical thinking and idea of justice is more than capable of formulating there own laws.
          8. Sunnatullah refers to natural laws and are un changeable. For example gravity, speed of light in different medium, boiling point of water etc.

These are some of my understanding. I may be wrong on some or if not all of the points. If any point is not clear I am happy to elaborate.

It would be the first book of any kind which deals with all aspets of life which did not, by itself or by the expectations or environment, give raise to a lof tof controversies and exchanges. Also, to be born in mind is that people do not put up for discussion things that offer no room for further developing a subject or delucidating it. Therefore things that offer no doubt are not talked of.

On the other hand, people are not, in a forum, put in grades. So what for some may be a question for others it is not a question at all. So, logically what we get here is a spectrum which does nto portray a religion or a book but the planetarium of those turning around that book. to say that that book should not be or does not deserve to be at the centre of suh a spectrum is to ignore what it is and what its function is.

If one wants something that for every possibility in life gives a plain red or green answer it might be a wonder of "human agreement" which I personally would immediately throw into the wastebin. There are no limits to what the Qur'an can teach because there are no limits to what a person and every person can learn or attempt to learn or discover or wonder at or turn around for ages to satisfy a craving. A manual for operating a printer might (might is the word) be clear and uniquivocous, a book which aims at opening human eyes to everything and beyond everything, to expect no divergence is to expect that by some miracle we all six thousand million or however many we may be now, would fall in love with the very self same person. It might be simple but would it be good?

No, eah person, and each mornign and setting of each person must live her or his life to the full, fail his or her failures, suffer her or his lot and experience his or her happinessess, live her own life with all its events and lacks of them. Every second of a life is a wonder, a mirale, a most priced jewel, why should we want to learn the same as others at the same time as others...

That the Qur'an is a miracle... everything is a mirale by the mere fact of being. asking for further miracles is like having water and asking for water. Or wanting to be there when you are already there.

But, I think for many epoole and for many of those who are in this forum the qur'an fulfills its promises. I encloses human pisychology that at times is uncany in the portrayal of traits in a mere couple of words or even one word.

That it has been misinterpreted, it is logical, everything in this world is misinterpreted and also rightly interpreted. People interpret, so why shoudl people be always right? No need. For those who seek, they understand what while they seek they must seek. Nobody is going to give them the ended search, in the same way that we are not given the food already eaten. We , each must eat it and idgest it, and hopefully not vomit it.

Some people are vomiting islam right now, why. Fr the reasons that people vomit, because they are unwell, because the food is adulterated, because they have eaten too muh or at the wrong time or mixed it with non edible things...

But no food is going ever to feed a person who is not the eater. So if one wants to get something out of the Qur?am one must go to it, eat it the right way in the proper amounts and at the proper times. Whih are those? God knows.

I know it has taken me all my life, but I am glad, no time I consider wasted. It gives me hapinness, satisfaction, not about my being right, but about everything being right, about the irremediability of ultimate satisfaction and glory and extasis.

            Salaam

              I recommend

So establish yourself to the obligation/system of truth/righteousness/monotheism. It is the nature that God has made the people on. There is no changing in God's creation. Such is the right obligation/system, but most people do not know

I wouldn't take a forum as evidence. Bear in mind anyone can join a public forum and post any view (within reason). If you actually look at views that are evidence-based and detailed enough to form a conclusion, the variance reduces dramatically.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

                1. islam is an attitude, a character of "peacefully accepting God's will", whatever it is, no matter how hard it is.
                2. Correct, God is here there everywhere and has no boundary of space and time
                3. God has a plan for human to become a 'caretaker' of earth, at least up until now, He might also has other plan for human in the future, He might expand the responsibility for human to become a 'caretaker' of solar systems or galaxies in the future... When human has evolved to be a wiser being to uphold such responsibility.
                4. God promotes critical thinking as it's within His plan for human evolution.. He continuously send out revelation to human being, He has unlimited media of communication.
                5. God has a plan for just social order to thrived among human society. Those who failed to do so shall become extinct eventually (Survival of the nicest). He has prepared a perfect ecosystem to ensure and enforce such 'plan'.
                6. Only a just society shall eventually survive, the other shall become extinct. Again He has a perfect ecosystem to ensure that unjust society shall eventually perish.
                7. "Sharia" is among human's false hypothesis on how the world around them works.
                8. Sunnatulah is natural law is God's law. He has a perfect ecosystem for it's enforcement. It's however changing.. yet all of the changes happened in accordance to His plan / will. (ie there will be times when gravity shall work in reverse)

I dont think its important to be native Arabic speaker to understand Quran provided you know how the language works. Majority of the members here are skilled at it. Yet keep an open mind, for all of us are humans and our view can be sometimes limited to what knowledge we have. We can make mistakes.

But I recommend you to be extra careful about what you find at anti Islam sites....esp those coming from atheists. Sad to see that although they swear by science their view on how things work is rather shallow and even inaccurate. They will make you forget whatever science you studied even in elementary school. Let me show you the results from the link you provided.

                  1. Quran Miracle Debunked 24 of 50 Creation from Smoke
Comment he received from his viewers
"The word gas does not include dust and other particles in the stars. But Smoke include them. A . Quoting from Nasa.gov ?The fact that the red and green do overlap indicates that this supernova is synthesizing dust and gas together. This is the ?smoking gun ? , indicating that supernovae were significant suppliers of fresh dust in the very early universe -- something that was hard to demonstrate prior to the Spitzer observations."

"actually, the universe was like a smoke according to science news(DOT)sciencemag(DOT)org / physics / 2010 / 11 / how-early-universe-cleared-away-fog Just replace the DOT and remove the spaces"

                  1. Quran Miracle Debunked 23 of 50 Underwater (internal) Waves and the Darkness of the Sea.
Comment he received from his viewers
"this has to be one of the dumbest videos i have ever seen in order for you to debunk the quranic claim you must
1-show the Arabic text of the verse and use the word in question
2-you must provide a historical evidence that shows Muhammad(pbuh) had access to these types of knowledge
3-also diving has to be done in 70 meters and on daylight because in night you can't see a damn thing also 70 meters are our limits to endorse water pressure the more we go down the more dangerous it become you need to have great diving equipment to go deeper than 70 meters and that was not available at the time of the prophet
4-the prophet most have known foreign languages and learned the English or what ever the language these books where written on and there IS NO EVIDENCE FOR THIS AT ALL hell he can't even type or read Arabic and there was only 17 people in his time who can read or wright

AGAIN you FAIL EPIC FAIL like all your other videos and all the islamophobs claims share point(2 and 4) you never show historical evidence that the prophet copied those people before him you are pathetic uploader just like the rest of your audience"

"so because 2 books in the universe written in english mentioned it means the prophet somehow got his hands on it?? also pearl diving was done at short distances in the sea, and it would be have to done during the day because in the night you cant see shit, but in the day light goes deep for 200 meters, humans cant go more than 70m, you didnt debunk shit"

"the man who uploaded this video is very stupid. he only posted some part of the verse and not the whole. allah in fact talked about the extreme darkness of the deep ocean that even if one stretches his hand he won't be able to see it; this darkness lies beyond 200 meters from the water surface according to science. we have only discovered this recently with the new technology as humans can not dive in beyond 40 meters."

                  1. Quran Miracle Debunked 22 of 50 The Expanding Universe.
This one needs no explanation. The cunning debunker intentionally changes the verse to make sure he can debunk it. He is replacing expanding with expanded apparently because tafsir says so rotfl

                  2. Islamic Arguments Debunked 10 of 30 'Biology in the Quran was correct and previously unknown'.
Biology knowledge from bukhari???? Nuff said! The debunker in the video also leaves out the stages of embryology available in the Quran, but have been recently discovered by science. His video, therefore, debunks nothing.

                  3. Quran Miracle Debunked 18 of 50 Black holes in the Quran
lol, the debunker thinks that our sun is alone for which in his eyes the verse 7778 is wrong when it says "So when the stars are obliterated".
                    hypno
He needs to learn about binary system of stars and the fact that there are other stars surrounding the sun. This is middle school scientific fact. He proved nothing. Just showed his lack of knowledge. Scientists believe our sun has connection to other stars, but they just dont know what it is. The only thing I can agree with him is that its speaking of a future event.

I can go on and on debunking all his stupid claims, but seriously man, it looks like only the dumbest people become atheist. They are buying into his claims without varying whether he is giving them solid scientific facts.

Thank you very very much for providing the link. It totally proved that Richard Dawkins is scam artist. He has 0 idea about science. In fact he doesnt even know the most trivial scientific facts. Otherwise, he wouldnt have said "I was therefore delighted to receive, from Islamdebunked, word about a splendid collection of short Youtube films, systematically destroying these ridiculous Islamic claims, with the added bonus of beautiful background music"

Only an illiterate can make such claim. Now I am sure his papers are written by ghostwriters.

                    Peace Shogunsami,

Is the Quran easy to understand? Is a physics book easy to understand? Is a biology book easy to understand?
It depends on the one reading the Quran that will determine if it is easy or not!

                    God bless you

Speaking a language and knowing a language are two different things. Allah the Exalted guides with Qur'aan. Therefore, one must learn the skill for real-time translation to read and comprehend Qur'aan.

                          Please explain the above.

Billions speak English. How many are the authors of books in English? There lies the difference. Only those can become an author who know the language; not because they speak that language.

Believing or not believing has nothing to do with understanding a book.

And Qur'aan is in Arabic, the language of the sons of soil of Arabian peninsula. One has to learn it for comprehending it to be aright guided.

Uh, you did not answer of course, the end.

                                    FROM THE QURANIC PATH

What one needs to comprehend is that understanding the Qur'an means to understand correctly what is being told in the verses, the concepts, lessons, signs, admonitions metaphors and imagery. All of these aspects of the Qur'an hold true regardless of the language used. When one does not understand the Qur'an, that is, makes erroneous interpretations, he is incapable of understanding these lessons, admonitions and true purposes of the verses. One may even be in possession of great Arabic skills, yet be incapable of understanding the verses due to his or her lack of comprehension of what is being told in the verses. We can compare this with the following scenario. Imagine you are explaining a concept to someone in perfect English. The person you are explaining to can also understand English perfectly. However, due to a lack of comprehension on their part, that person fails to understand what you are explaining to them despite your perfect explanations in English and their ability to understand the language. Likewise, the same can be said about the Qur'an. Even an expert Arabic speaker may well be incapable of understanding and interpreting the verses correctly as a direct result of that missing comprehension. This comprehension is given by Allah to whoever He pleases. A verse identifies this

"...But the disbelievers say, 'what does Allah mean by such a similitude?' Through it, Allah misguides many and He also guides many. But He misguides only the rebels." (Qur'an 226)

The comprehension we have mentioned is actually a gift from Allah to His sincere believers only. A believer who does not know Arabic may be endowed with this ability to understand the Qur'an. When the verses of the Qur'an are explained to him by another true believer in his language, he grasps them correctly, even though he does not know Arabic. And it is probable that a person fluent in Arabic could not understand the same verses correctly even in his own language. Skill in the Arabic language did not afford him the true interpretations of Allah?s verses, and so he remained bereft of Allah?s guidance. Another person who is a more sincere believer could understand the verses, even though he did not speak the language of the Qur'an. Allah explains this 'veiling of perception' in a verse

Quran close-up"When you recite the Qur'an, we place an invisible barrier between you and those who do not believe in the life to come. We have put covers on their hearts that prevents them from understanding it, and heaviness in their ears." (Qur'an 1745-46)

That is why a true believer can live by the Qur'an without knowing Arabic. It is true that a non-Arabic speaking believer will need to overcome the obstacle of language, but with his sincerity and motivation, he overcomes them without difficulty. Today, there are many translations of the Qur'an available in almost any language. It is possible to draw a fairly accurate understanding of the Qur'an by studying different translations.

In conclusion, people who speak Arabic do not automatically posses the comprehension to understand the meanings of the Verses of the Qur?an. The comprehension is given by Allah to whom He wills regardless of ones language. All people who consider themselves Muslim must not hide behind excuses from gaining a first-hand understanding of the Book revealed by Allah, which is a guide, mercy and cure for them if they only make the effort to understand it themselves. Allah has held everyone responsible for adhering to the Qur'an, regardless of their spoken languages.

Why is it necessary to acquire skill for real-time translation of Grand Qur'aan when more than hundred translations are readily available?

There are two reasons. Real-time translation is an intense activity of one's own brain. Reading a translation is near-passive activity, or involves less intellectual effort. Reading a translation may add to one's information-archive but may not necessarily enhance his level of understanding. Grand Qur'aan, a non-fiction book, aims at successively increasing the level of intellectual understanding of its reader to ascensions beyond the physical realms. A real-time system is one which "controls an environment by receiving data, processing them, and returning the results sufficiently quickly to affect the environment at that time." Ability of real-time translation will enable to perceive those beauties and niceties of the words and sounds of Arabic text which all translations will lack, however profound and scholarly they might be. If environmentally we have never experienced this result despite having read dozens of translations and exegeses, it is time that we should try acquiring skill for real-time translation to synchronize our selves with the Words of Allah the Exalted

Allah the Exalted has gradually ascended-revealed the infallibly authentic breaking news and information the best verbal discourse.

This discourse is conveyed to people in the state of a written book. It is the explainer with metaphors mirroring-bringing face to face the hidden physical facts It is a Miscellany-cluster of Binary-Symmetrical-analogous verbal passages.

The skins of them; that persistently fear and revere their Sustainer Lord, become bristled in fear by some segment of it Grand Qur'aan. Afterwards, their skins become softened. Moreover, their hearts become exclusively soft and revered towards the Reminder-Reiteration-Verbal Message of Allah the Exalted Grand Qur'aan.

This Book Grand Qur'aan is the Guidance of Allah the Exalted.

He the Exalted guides through this Book a person about whom He decides to be guided.

Know it Should Allah the Exalted let someone absorbed in indifference; engrossed in his self thereat; there is not at all a guide for him.

Except academic translations of legal documents and discourses, a translation of non-fiction book is the perception and understanding of a translator about the source text. It is, thereby, but subjective since his effort is restricted to his acquired level of information and understanding by that point in time about various subjects discussed in the book. Since the level of information and knowledge keeps expanding, the understanding and thereby the translation of an individual of 7-20th century was certainly based upon the perceptions and understandings of people in those times. For us in the 21st century, such translations are merely opinions, scholarship of individual translator notwithstanding.

Secondly, the need for acquiring skill for real-time translation is for reason that Grand Qur'aan is alive in time and space. It is declared as "Infallible Discourse", a miscellany of facts for all times. Therefore, barring a truly academic translation, all translations of the past will become redundant-obsolete for successive generations in timeline. However, its characteristic feature; "Infallible Discourse" and declaration about its contents as absolutely void of peeving substance suspicious, conjectural, whimsical, conflicting, ambiguous, anomalous, irrational, un-certain, illusory, unsubstantiated, incongruous, biased and opinionated matter, renders it understandable for readers of any point of timeline.

Why all translations of the past have become obsolete even if they were not academic translations? Grand Qur'aan informed in advance

                                      We will henceforth keep visually exposing Our tangible-physical realities prevalent in the Universe-horizons and in their own bodies to the eyes of those who do not accept the Qur'aan;

The purpose of this visual manifestation is that the fact of Qur'aan being Infallible Doctrine-Statement of Established Fact might become self manifest for them.

Do you think that your Sustainer Lord has not yet been considered to suffice as ultimate observer?

The fact is that He the Exalted is the One and only Who is the Observer-the Omnipresent upon each and every thing/whole time and space.

Grand Qur'aan informed that Allah the Exalted will keep bringing to human visual access the knowledge about universe and human body, whereby the fact that Grand Qur'aan is the infallible discourse of absolute reality might become self manifest to the people who keep denying it. Why a first time observation of hitherto unseen thing manifests that the Qur'aan is a statement of proven fact? This is possible only if the same thing finds verbal mirroring of it in the Qur?aan. Verbal specification and visual observation are two aspects of identification of a tangible fact of real existence, as denoted by Arabic word ayah. The visual observation of an earlier unseen fact will manifest the book written earlier in time as the Book of Facts which contains its verbal presentation. This will establish that the Book really contains verbal statements of physical/scientific facts and is not conjectural, hypothetical and presumptive in its contents.

Wisdom is that state of acquisition of knowledge when the invisible of the matter and its relationships {} become perceivable through vision and intellect. However, the remote past and remote future is beyond our vision and perception. Notwithstanding what distance we could cover in the past and the future we can never say with confidence and certainty that we have reached and seen and perceived the things at the point of beginning or ending in future. We can never encompass the matter in its entirety not only because of its extremely voluminous and diversified nature but also because we know the skies are expanding all the time. Therefore, if we can manage to reach its today's last boundary and limit it would have gone farther the moment we reach the point we thought is the ending point. It is an endless pursuit; this is the limitation of our capability of vision and intellect. We will always end up in a closed street.

Knowledge is primarily divided into two branches; knowledge of things/matter and what happened-was talked about by the people; their dialogues, habits and acts in the past. The knowledge about the matter is verifiable in time and space. Anything said by anyone or a book regarding physical matters could be subjected to verification in time and space about its truth to an exact detail. If we find the words of a book relating to physical matters written earlier in time as true and factually and materially correct in all respects then we will have to believe too, in those statements of the Book which narrate some events/dialogues between people of past/historical statements. The falsification test of any book/statement could be the physical one. The facts mentioned in the Qur'aan about the Universe and human body is in itself the falsification test of the Book.

When we apply this test upon the exegeses and translations of the past, none stands the test. Therefore, in the light of the above declarative statement in the Qur'aan; do we have any option but to treat all earlier exegeses and translations as obsolete and of no avail for the people of 21st century?

There is yet another reason why every reader should attempt acquiring the skill for real-time translation of Qur'aan. It is the Semantic density of information in Grand Qur'aan embedded in just 6236 Ayahs. It is so voluminous that we will never be able to empty its words; therefore, no translation is exhaustive. May be you retrieve such pearls of wisdom which did not come to notice of all the translators.

Quite many people have translated the text of Grand Qur'aan for various motivations, considerations and intentions, good as well as bad, in timeline. Detailed account can be seen in World Bibliography of The Translations of The Meanings of The Holy Qur'an (Istanbul, OIC Research Center, 1986), Most of these are available on line. It is worldwide known fact that the first translations to English were not undertaken by the believers in Qur'aan. During 231 year period from 1649 to 1904 only four English translations were produced, all four by scholars who had their identity as Christians.

1649 Alexander Ross The Alcoran of Mahmet Quote from Wikipedia One of Ross's most significant accomplishments, published in the same year as the beheading of the king, was his complete translation of the Qur'an into English. Although he knew no Arabic and only poorly translated L'Alcoran de Mahomet, the 1647 French translation of Du Ryer, his translation was the first in English, and his influence faintly lingers in latter-day translations down to the present.

1734 George Sale The Koran The first scholarly translation of the Qur'an based primarily on the Latin translation of Louis Maracci (169 George Sale's translation was to remain the most widely available English translation over the next 200 years, and is still in print today, with release of a 2009 edition

1861 John Medow Rodwell The Koran

1880 Henry Edward Palmer The Qur'an

The fact remains that no attempt was ever made for the academic translation of Grand Qur'aan. Moreover, it is an undeniable and unfortunate fact that just few scholars attempted translating the Grand Qur'aan in their respective target language directly from its Arabic text. Thanks to computer and internet technology, it is now easy to see the majority of translations on one page. This blessing of technology has highlighted a dismal image of saddening effect; when we see many translations on one page we find more plagiarism than original work. Majority merely "re-translated", or "reproduced" already available translations; particularly that of George Sale and John Rodwell, with slight difference of sentence structuring, and replacements by synonyms and synonymous words of the same language. The conspicuous difference will be noticed only about additions of sectarian biases. The fact of reliance upon such translations becomes glaring in later translations when we find such opinions; which otherwise seem irrational, illogical and even ridiculous on face value, were plagiarized.

Learned A.R. Kidwai in "An annotated bibliography of the English translations of the Holy Qur'aan" states

Ross, Alexander, The Alcoran of Mahomet translated out of Arabique into French, by the Sieur Du Ryer...And newly Englished, for the satisfaction of all that desire to look into the Turkish vanities (London, 1649). 8 edns. The latest edition came out in 1856. A very crude specimen of the Orientalist-missionary approach to the Qur'an. In his 'Introductory Note to the Christian Reader' Ross specifies his purpose 'I thought good to bring it to their colours, that so viewing thine enemies in their full body thou must the better prepare to encounter...his Alcoran'. In the same rabidly anti-Islamic vein is the Appendix to the work entitled as 'A needful caveat or Admonition, for them who desire to know what use may be made of or if there be danger in reading the al-Coran'. As to the quality of the translation itself, Zwemer's remark is quite illuminating 'He (Ross) was utterly unacquainted with Arabic, and not a thorough French scholar; therefore his translation is faulty in the extreme'. Zwemer, S.M., Muslim World, V, (1915), p.250.

Sale, G., The Koran Commonly called the Alkoran of Mohammed (London, 1734). At least 123 edns. The latest edition appeared in 1975. Contains an exhaustive Preliminary discourse on Sira and the Qur'an. In translating the Qur'an Sale's missionary intent is quite marked. For in the note to the reader he suggests the rules to be observed for 'the conversion of Mohammedans' (p. v); evaluates the Prophet thus 'For how criminal so ever Mohammed may have been in imposing a fake religion on mankind, the praises due to his real virtues ought not to be denied him' (p. vii), talks of different editions of the Qur'an which, for him, vary in contents (p. 45), points out the borrowings in the Qur'an, (pp. 49 and 50) and refers to the piecemeal revelation of the Qur'an as a 'contrivance' (p.50). Full of instances of omission and mistranslation. For example, Ar-Rahman nir Raheem, is simply rendered as 'Most Merciful'. The recurrent Qur'anic address, Ya aayuhan nas is translated as 'O people of Mecca'. Renders as 'Substitute' and as 'Secret History'. Parts of some verses have been altogether omitted, as for example, in Ale-Imran III98 is not translated

Rodwell, J.M., The Koran (London, 1861). 32 edns. Question the authenticity of the traditional Sura order and invents a new so called chronological Sura order. In the Introduction he refers to the prophet as the crafty author of the Qur'an; indicates the Christian, Jewish, Zoroastrian and other sources of the Qur'an; advises missionary activists how to carry out their work and hold the prophet a victim of self-deception, a cataleptic subject from his early youth...liable to morbid and fantastic hallucinations (p.14). Suffers from a number of mistakes of mistranslation and misinterpretation. For example, (al-Mudathir LXXIV39) is translated as 'they of God's right hand', (al-Kauthar CVIII2) as 'Pray therefore to the Lord and slay the victims'. Explains the use of the word abd (al-Alaq XCVI10) in the Qur'an thus 'Since it was the slaves who had embraced Islam, the Qur'an uses this expression'.

On the other extreme, one finds that scholars of remote past strangely kept fabulate whenever episode of life of the Elevated Messengers of Allah the Exalted finds mention in Qur'aan. Thereafter, the plagiarists in timeline have repeated it extensively that now it is as if engraved in memories of majority. However, the original episode in the original Arabic words of Qur'aan is ever safe for those who wish not to live in fictional realm.
It were only the Jews at the time of revelation of Qur'aan who are criminally charged for slandering, ill-reputing, and associating fabricated ridiculous stories with the Chosen and Elevated Allegiants sent as Messengers of Allah the Exalted, which are not becoming of their dignity, status, honour, and reverence. They did not hesitate doing so even for Sulie'maan alai'his'slaam who had made them sort of superpower.

In view of the foregoing it is necessary for us to acquire skill for real-time translation of Grand Qur'aan shedding preconceived notions and extreme regards for people who earlier translated it and wrote exegeses. It does not entail disrespect.
Why is it necessary to acquire skill for real-time translation of Grand Qur'aan when more than hundred translations are readily available?

                                        Peace Hawk.

                                        I agree.

                                        Qoran makes the point clear

We send down in the Qoran healing and mercy for the believers. At the same time, it only increases the wickedness of the transgressors.

Say, "O people of the scripture,(Jews, Christians, Muslims...Whatever your language may be!) you have no basis until you uphold the Torah(Jews), and the Gospel(Christians), and what is sent down to you herein from your Lord(Muslims)." For sure, these revelations from your Lord(Qoran) will cause many of them to plunge deeper into transgression and disbelief. Therefore, do not feel sorry for the disbelieving people.

If we made it a non-Arabic Qoran they would have said, "Why did it come down in that language?" Whether it is Arabic or non- Arabic, say, "For those who believe, it is a guide and healing. As for those who disbelieve, they will be deaf and blind to it, as if they are being addressed from faraway."

When you read the Qoran, we place between you and those who do not believe in the Hereafter an invisible barrier. We place shields around their minds, to prevent them from understanding it, and deafness in their ears. And when you preach your Lord, using the Qoran alone, they run away in aversion.

Who are more evil than those who are reminded of their Lord's signs/ proofs, then disregard them, without realizing what they are doing. Consequently, we place shields on their hearts to prevent them from understanding it (the Qoran), and deafness in their ears. Thus, no matter what you do to guide them, they can never ever be guided.

None can grasp it (Qoran) except the sincere.

He sent down to you this scripture(Qoran), containing straightforward verses - which constitute the essence of the scripture - as well as multiple-meaning or allegorical verses. Those who harbor doubts in their hearts will pursue the multiple-meaning verses to create confusion, and to extricate a certain meaning. None knows the true meaning thereof except God and those well founded in knowledge. They say, "We believe in this - all of it comes from our Lord." Only those who possess intelligence will take heed.

                                        GOD bless you.
                                        Peace.

                                          Peace Mazhar,

Your heart is in the right place, but you just don't get it, even your translation has obvious faults like saying
                                          .

Your translation is another translation that will be disputed like the rest.

                                          Your translation

This Qur'aan is evocative luminous enlightenments Verbal passages enabling mental imaging communicated by
your Sustainer Lord. And it is guidance regulatory information for aright conduct and an act of Mercy-Blessing
for the people who accept and believe." IMHO your translation is not better but more complicated.
A person with limited English knowledge would be better off reading other translations.

Allah guides to the truth, the sincere believer will be guided to it rather you say so or not
regardless of the language they speak.

Those who believe in GOD, and hold fast to Him, He will admit them into mercy from Him,
and grace, and will guide them to Him in a straight path.

                                          Qoran makes the point clear

If we made it a non-Arabic Qoran they would have said, "Why did it come down in that language?" Thank you brother good logic for the relevant ayats

                                          peace
