What happens when religion doesn't match with real life? What happens when original scripture and the way we understand it don't match with real life? Do we solve it by setting up exceptions with the help of extra books, or do we conclude our understanding and interpretation of the original instructions is flawed, or what?
Definitely, the perception and assumption itself is flawed..
Change the perception and assumption, and see whether the new perception and assumption match with fact..
If Not, repeat the above step.. this is called "scientific method"..Having said that, fasting is a good exercise..
An exercise to improve one self-control...It supposed to be have no connection with reward of 72 virgins (girls or boys) in paradise..

The stars and planets are ornament sticked / glued on the firmament on the 'nearest heaven'..
