    Peace,

Regarding the issue of humans made of clay, I would like to highlight that it is Literally True.

In fact, our bodies are made of the same molecules and atoms as those in the clay, but these atoms are only organized differently. Our bodies contains carbon, iron, magnesium, sodium, potassium, H2O ... even some uranium.

Also, it is the case for all living creatures, all are made of clay, with different DNA generating different creatures, by the god's will.

Another point is that rouh is different from nafs. Rouh is specific to humans, while nafs is used for both humans and animals in alquran.

    Peace Someone,

We are earth creatures, the food we eat and the drinks we drink are made from what is on earth and when we die we will be earth again.
The earth is just a giant ultra intelligent factory (the biggest on earth ) that produces all kind of things including living creatures by recycling.
She (it's a lady ) even has a self recovery system.

"While He created you in stages?"
"Did you not see how God created seven heavens in layers?"
And made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a radiant lamp.
"God made you grow from the earth as plants."
"Then He returns you to it, and He brings you out totally?"

        Salaam/Peace be upon you, Someone,

I can clearly see that "rooh" is specific to Humans (=38/72, ......),
and "nafs" is to Humans (=42/11, ......),

but I still couldn't see where "nafs" is also to animals (=?)

Can you, please, give me one --or more-- example, in this regard?
I need to know it. I am doing a research about it.

        Thank you very much.
        Remain in peace/salaam.

          Peace,

The word Ruh in my understanding is 'breath of life' hence other root meanings include wind etc. I think that it is not something unique to human beings, although i could be wrong, as God says, we have little knowledge of the Ruh

Ruh is frequently used in the previous scriptures, for example in genesis, 'the Ruh of God passed over the waters' (Gen 1.2) and 'and they came to Noah, two by two of all flesh in which Ruh lives in him' (Gen. 715)

          ruh in hebrew

          "
There are two roots of the form (rwh), one having to do with breath and the other one with being wide, and note that the same duality exists in the word (nepesh), which denotes a living being.
.............. (note p in hebrew is f in arabic, hence 'napesh' is 'nafs'
The root (rwh I) is not or sporadically used as verb in the Bible (see Isaiah 278 for a possible substantive use of the verb), but its main derivative, the noun (ruah) occurs 379 times.

The feminine and sometimes masculine noun (ruah) in its most abstract definition reflects a global force that moves or motivates multiple recipients. It's the most common word for wind (Exodus 1013, Proverbs 2523, Jeremiah 4936), but its usages go far beyond that.

          .......
Not surprisingly, our word most often describes a living being as recipient of whatever forces move the world in general. It covers animals (Genesis 715, Psalm 10429) and humans (Genesis 418, Isaiah 425). It may reflect something as mundane as inhaling breath through the nose, which results in smelling the world (Genesis 2727, Song of Solomon 78, Jeremiah 224), but it also describes a kind of cerebral inhaling via which ideas enter one's ruah (Ezekiel 115). Mostly it reflects either a people's collective experience of something (Joshua 211, Lamentations 420), or an individual's experience of what everybody else is also feeling (Job 171).

          "

also researching nafs in the previous scriptures could shed some light, as the two concepts seem closely related, for example
          napesh (nafs) in hebrew
          "
The close connection between our noun and the act of breathing is also evident in the Bible. Job 4121, YHWH speaks of Leviathan, and says, "His breath (, nepesh) kindles coals and a flame goes out of his mouth". In Genesis 27, YHWH> creates Adam by forming him from earth and breathing (, napah) the breath (, neshama) of life into his nostrils (, 'ap), so that he became a (nepesh haya); a living soul.

people confuse with life-force/rooh/spirit/soule ... infact whatever name you give it dosent matter...

the difference between a human and animal is a real self of a person...

the name you can give is character/self/conscience/sense of right and wrong...

that make you differ from animal and human... animals dnt have it...

life force and body are two things one is garment of your character another is a force that drives that garment ... but again real self is a character ... which is responsible for things related to life force or garment..

              Salaam/Peace be upon you, Timotheus,

May AL-LAH bless you, Greatly, for all the valuable information and the links you have provided above.

But first of all, I need to know exclusively and only in QURAN TESTAMENT alone,

has "nafs" ever been used for any living-being other than Humans,
or is it always used specifically and only for Humans throughout QURAN TESTAMENT?

After learning this clearly, in QURAN TESTAMENT, first of all, we may also certainly go to TORAH and GOSPEL, thereafter, inshaAL-LAH. (=5/44-48)

So if you know or may learn anything about this, your Contribution is much appreciated here, brother.

              Remain in peace/salaam.

soul is not ruh, ruh is breath, breath is not ours.. we breath it in and out, God breathed it into us originaly, (The Ruh)
soul or self is nafs, this seems evident in the quran, it is also related to our wills, desire etc, this is us
if it is right and wrong, or our conscience, i would say that is Gods inspiration, based on 917-8 , prehaps also fitrah, cant recall the verses at this time..

of course this is only my understanding.. i do my best to base it on Gods revelations alone

                peace.

I would recommend simply doing a root search of the quran InshaAllah, searching nun-fa-siin, using either an application like zekr, or the corpus.quran.com

here is a link here to the occurances of n-f-s in al-quran
                  http//corpus.quran.com/qurandictionary.jsp?q=nfs

The Torah is also legitimate, as God informs us in the quran. I find it, and the books of prophets, and the gospel accounts invaluable for learning, and i have learnt much from them, by the will of God.

                  Peace.

thats y God send this criterion to judge between truth and falsehood...

dnt you also want evidence for this... in the shape of quranic verses?

Yes i did read your post properly. real self real soul is ambigious, i would much rather speak in regards to concrete concepts in the quran.

animals do have wills and desires, my cat comes and meows at me, as i said earlier (if i recall correctly), the Torah clearly shows that animals have nafs. a soul or self, desire etc. i believe this is us. if i did not mention it, please refer to the links i posted, and look up the occurances if you wish, InshaAllah

I however never said they are responsible for their actions.

what animals dont have is 'the trust' (3372), in my understanding.

brother, i would much rather speak in concrete terms, such as those in the quran etc. not western abstract terms, which are by nature ambiguous, like 'real self' 'life force' unless you can clearly define concretely what you are talking about.

God is the one who gives life and causes death.
He breathed into us from His Ruh

again i may be wrong. i do not know for certain. neither do you. as God said, we have little knowledge of Ruh.

and yes, by all means produce your proof if you are truthfull.

                        Peace.

animals do have wills and desires, my cat comes and meows at me, as i said earlier (if i recall correctly), the Torah clearly shows that animals have nafs. a soul or self, desire etc. i believe this is us. if i did not mention it, please refer to the links i posted, and look up the occurances if you wish, InshaAllah

I however never said they are responsible for their actions.

what animals dont have is 'the trust' (3372), in my understanding.

383 Is it other than the system of God that they desire, when those in the heavens and the earth have submitted to Him voluntarily or by force? And to Him they will be returned.
384 Say "We believe in God and what was sent down to us and what was sent down to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Patriarchs, and what was given to Moses and Jesus and the prophets from their Lord. We do not make a distinction between any of them, and to Him we submit."

2218 Did you not see that to God yields what is in the heavens and what is on the earth, and the sun and the moon and the stars and the mountains and the trees and what moves, and many of the people, and many who have deserved the retribution. And whoever God disgraces, then none can honor him. God does what He pleases.

Cats, and other animals are submitting creatures, as i said, they do not have the trust, which i understand as responsibility for our actions, and to be caretakers on earth.

                            peace.

the name you can give is character/self/conscience/sense of right and wrong...

that make you differ from animal and human... animals dnt have it...

thats what i said actually but you are coming from the far side of moon , but i try to explain concepts in easy mode

if u want to add another word trust in it i dnt have any issue as my concept of briefing was same ...

how you will define trust is it not a power of decision , or freewill ... animals are creatures for specific purpose to serve humanity.. like so many other creatures .. plants are also living thing, they do have life force. they do scream ...

but human being is the owner of his character /personality that distinguish him from other creatures

other creatures dnt own anything ..
we own something hence we are responsible fo r that thing , due to that thing we will get punished or rewards.. whatever name yoou give its does not matter, its deeds that matter,

                                    Salaam/Peace be upon you, Someone,

I can clearly see that "rooh" is specific to Humans (=38/72, ......),
and "nafs" is to Humans (=42/11, ......),

but I still couldn't see where "nafs" is also to animals (=?)

Can you, please, give me one --or more-- example, in this regard?
I need to know it. I am doing a research about it.

                                    Thank you very much.
                                    Remain in peace/salaam.

                                    Peace LastDay3,

                                    Sorry for my late reply.

I think that I have seen nafs used for animals but I don't remember the verse. There are around 268 occurrences of the word nafs in alquran, I will try to go through them to find the related verse, unless I am wrong hypno

                                      Salaam/Peace be upon you, Someone,

You MUST absolutely focus on it and remember that Verse, dear brother, if you are not mistaken about it tempt yeah tempt
Because I believe, this is a very Important inquiry that may change our whole perspective in some most fundamental Issues in this regard.

So please, do not be in haste (=20/114)
Take your time and go through those 268 occurrences, (when/if you have enough time), one by one, and ponder on each of them --(at least a minute or so),
and then if you see anything that may clearly indicate that "nafs" is also used to refer to any living-being other than Humans, in QURAN TESTAMENT,
let us absolutely know it here.

Whether you find such an indication, or not find any such indication anywhere in QURAN TESTAMENT,
may AL-LAH bless you, Greatly, in either case, for your righteous effort. (=35/29-30)

May AL-LAH teach us and guide us to HIS Perfect Path. (=20/114)

                                      Remain in peace/salaam.
