    Salaam 'Alaikum everyone, )
I have a question on Salat prayer.

I've read few articles as well as watched Rashad Khalifa's Salat video.

All of them says we got salat ritual from Abraham. But none of them really explained from where did we got the prayer of Abraham.
In Rashad Khalifa's prayer video, he almost prays like sunnis but just doesn't mentioned the name of Prophet Muhammad.

My question is, where is the salat of Abraham mentioned? How do we know that how Abraham prayed?

You raise some good points. Now you need to research to get a better understanding. There are tons of posts around the topic of salat on this forum.

I am no longer a Sunna-rejecter. See 4:59-65, 62:2-4, 3:31, 4:156, 7:157 Messenger teaches and is to be followed and obeyed. Examples of revelation received which is not in the Qur'an: 3:123-126, 33:37, 2:187, 66:3, 62:9.

        Thanks for your comment brother/sister.

I've read some of the posts here too. I've not found this answer anywhere. Everyone says we have to follow the religion of Abraham so we must pray like Abraham. So, where is the prayer of Abraham mentioned that people are talking about?

Because perhaps there is no answer?
Thus need to get back to the question...

Why we must pray like Abraham?
And you can also query the bigger picture.. Why we pray in the first place?

Or does GOD need our prayers?
Or why GOD wants us to engage in a repetitive ritual with certain number of units and actions?

Why God wants us to do the ritual using a defined choreography?

Even bigger question, if God wants something (among them are puny being called human) to do something, will not the thing will certainly in 100% guaranteed does it?
Given that God is all powerful and His will will certainly be done.

So does everyone mean to say we don't pray because God doesn't need our prayers? o

                    Allah says in the Qur'an,
                    ""What put you into Saqar?"
They will say, "WE WERE NOT OF THOSE WHO PRAYED,

                    What does that mean then?

And what people like "Rashad Khalifa" who prays but don't show from where did they get that prayer from?

Answer is in your question. They are blindly following their elders/system they are born in, without questioning it. 1736 commands us not to follow anything without confirmation by using God gifted faculties.

That is true and God has wished to give this puny called human, the freedom to choose. And 1736 commands us to choose wisely by using God given faculties instead of blindly following elders/system.

My understanding at the time is that, time does not matter for God. He knows what every nafs chose in their lifetime using their freedom of choice and they will face the consequences of their choices.

So the word "Musalleen" doesn't mean pray?

I saw the video from Qur'an Centric, but that didn't make sense to me. He says "Pray" in the Qur'an means to follow the commandments like "Not drinking alcohol, not cheating, lying etc.."

BUT, my question is, if that is so, then how will you explain the following verse?

"O ye who believe! when ye prepare for prayer, wash your faces, and your hands to the elbows; Rub your heads; and your feet to the ankles. "

So if that doesn't mean to pray, why do I need to wash my face, hands, heads and feet? )

                                      Surah Maidah Verse 6.

Here is how Rashad Khalifa translates-

O you who believe, when you observe the Contact Prayers (Salat), you shall (1) wash your faces, (2) wash your arms to the elbows, (3) wipe your heads, and (4) wash your feet to the ankles.
