    peace Novice, all,

To my knowledge "fa" does not necessarily denote a "time delay".
    http//corpus.quran.com/documentation/particlefa.jsp

But I can see how one might think that depending on the context of usage. In 56 (based on the content) I do not see how it can mean do the things mentioned after salat is done. Can you find a translation for "salat" in 56 that would make sense if interpreting it like that?

    Peace Wakas

Sorry for delayed response but please appreciate this is not easy to reply.

The text of 56 does not say to do the things mentioned after salat is done rather it says when qumtum for salat then wash ........

Even corpus has translation "FA" as "then"
    http//corpus.quran.com/wordbyword.jsp?chapter=5&verse=6

FA can have other usages but in 56 words, as I understand, are saying when "qumtum" then wash ....

It is really difficult to isolate this ayat from the overall concept of salat in Quran. I have to understand salat with the overall picture. I have been struggling to find satisfaction and at present I am convinced that salat is not a ritual. Still working on my understanding and ready to accept an explanation consistent and satisfactory with the overall picture.
