No one is invisible. No one is physically made of smokeless fire. NO one is made of gas.
At least I have never seen such a person.

And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn,
so they increased them in burden.

And when We directed to you a few of the jinn,
listening to the Qur'an. And when they attended it, they said, "Listen quietly."
And when it was concluded, they went back to their people as warners.

We said, "Go down therefrom, all of you. When guidance comes to you
from Me, those who follow My guidance will have no fear, nor will they grieve.

    peace

I agree with Imrankhwaja. Thanks for sharing your thought. In general, people think that and both are same things. The creature which was made from fire was and not . In the whole Quran you can not find a single verse where God said he created from fire. Therefore, has broader meaning, it can be imaginary deities which Polytheist worshiped (6100), it also includes angels (3715, People not living in the cities (721), our evil impulses(1850) etc.

in 15.26 we are told that the jaann were created before the bashar from fire
and in the next ayas we are told that iblees refused to postrate and gave as a reason that he would not postrate before a bashar created from mud

in 38.76 we are told that iblees is created from fire and refused to postrate

and in 18.50 we are told that iblees was rom the jinn

            Salaam

if i am not wrong i used to think that the first word is the Pluralform of the second word .

plural form is more appropriate to use for aljaan as it covers all possible kinds/forms/types of THOSE from ALjaan.

i know its kinda hard topic when we are talking about THINGS/ BEINGS what we cannot see from naked eye.

GOD bless u all brothers and sisters.

I apologize for not being clear, but let's analyze this ayat.

3876 is not the statement of God. He quoted Ibless statement. Same way in 128 is not the statement of God. Like i said in my previous comment, in the whole Quran God never said he created Al-Jinn from fire.

They are men. There is no doubt about it. All the books sent down for human beings. Quran is (2185) but like i said in my previous comment Al-Jinn has broader meaning as per holy Quran.

No, I He did not say that He creted al jinn from anything else. True it is not God who has said it, but He does not seem to disagree with that and I do not see any hint anywhere that it is not so.

All god says is that He makes Iblees get out of his previous condition.
Both jinn and jaann come from the root that means to be hidden or covered. It does not have to be a kind of beings but rather any being that is hidden or does not appear to be seen.

                            Salaam

This story is repeated many times in the Quran. Did you think God misguide Iblees? He claimed God misguided him (716) and God never denied it, why? because God and his messengers never indulge in baseless arguments, for example Chapter 2 verse 258 where Ibrahim did the same.

                                Hope i explained something.

Yes you explained something but I doubt that you proved that Ibliis was not made from fire. And so what is it exactly you want to prove becuse I do not get it.

So how does God show to us that Ibliis is not made from fire? Does God say somewhere else that he is made from something else?
He was one of the mala'ika was he not? And what ar mala'ka made of?
Of course God does not have to tell us from what iblees was made, but the fact is that we cannot know by ourselves whether it is true or not that he was made from fire.

Is it that jinn and jaann re two different things? What is the difference?

Jaann is an active participle, jinn a noun. But neither have to be a single kind of being, just any being with a particular characteristic.

So exactly what are you saying with respecto to each of those terms?

                                  Salaam

                                    @huruf,

Thanks for your patience. If i feel i can't explained it anymore, i will stop and will leave it for some other time. Language is the biggest barrier for me to convey my understanding.

                                    1. As per my understanding, Adam and Ibless story is a metaphor and not a real story (I could be wrong and you can disagree with me). It is a story of humanity. Why? because Adam was not the first creation but many Adam's was created in the beginning (711). I have other verses. I will furnished on your request.

                                    2. In the Universe everything is obeying to God (1649) except one being which is human NAFS which has two parts, explained later in my comment. All bowed down (3873) except . It was that who refused God's order and we knew that the order was only for therefore the being who refused was also .

                                    3. Now, someone can ask that then why it was called in 1850?. As per Quran were also called Al-Jin (3715 and we knew that no other creature was asked to bow down to Adam exceptI which further consolidate the fact that the being who refused the order was . In human there are two forces acting, one are angelic forces called (752) and evil impulses called .

                                    4. Now again someone can ask then why it claimed that it was made from fire?. The answer is arrogance. In story it was the symbol of arrogance. He thinks, he is superior to Adam.

                                    5. Polytheist worshiped imaginary deities, forces of nature (6100) called , strangers or people living outside cities or caves or astrologers also (4629 and 721) called

In short, my point is God never said Al-Jin was created from fire and the creature who was created before human beings was Al-Jaan. Al-Jin has broader meaning which includes angels, cave dwellers, strangers, forces of nature, imaginary deities etcs.

                                    I hope it make sense.

                                    Salam

                                      Peace imrankhawaja, NK

I apologize for not being clear, but let's analyze this ayat.

And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn,
so they increased them in burden.

Are the Jinn men or are they something else? Help!

                                      peace

                                      Peace brother hawk.
by analysing the ayat u cant get any final results due to the verses given below.

728 "And we touched the heavens, but found it full of powerful guards and projectiles."

( lamas = physical touch ? ) brother hawk think about this point.

729 "And we used to sit in it in places of listening, but anyone who sits now finds a projectile seeking him."

( where are they sitting i never see any nation is seeking by a projectile ?)

                                      and in the same chapter

7216 And had they walked on a straight path, We would have provided them with abundant water.

                                      why WATER mention here ?

we can see ourselves things not making sense in most of the parts if interpretation is corrupted and meanings too then we are in a big confuse.com lol

FULLY human or FULLY jinny both are confusing actually i myself trying to find out the mystery behind invisible beings.
