    AOA guys ...

This thought has been puzzling me since a long time and prolly many of you think the same thing ..

Do you think that Islam is the only true religion of the world and all the other religions are false or man-made (eg. Hinduism, Buddhism etc)apart from Christianity and Judaism?

I have realised that Allah helps everyone in this world regardless of his/her religion so does it matter what religion you are? Some religions are strict while others are not so does it matter to Allah what religion you follow unless its some sort of Satan worship or smth (hahaha) .....

Like last wk Allah granted this wish of mine and that strengthened my faith in Him... Would he have granted my wish if I followed another religion ?

      Peace,

      Yes HE WOULD.

One needs only to submit his heart and that religion is called ISLAM even though the traditional name of his religion might be WHATEVER.

      PEACE,

But does that mean that you dont have to follow what the Quran says ? I mean a buddhist will have his wish granted by not following what Allah says in the Quran so how does that work ?

          Peace,

When one is guided by HIM, then one would search in all HIS books to get closer to HIM.
All HIS BOOKS will be read and HIS greatest BOOK is the BOOK OF CREATION.

BOOK OF CREATION = QURAN ????

I am quite a firm believer but sometimes I believe that Islam is too strict and by not listennig to some rules, I feel guilty and think of myself as a bad person ....

              Peace

I think one should not view al-qur'?n in terms of (what is normally understood as) religion.
The qur'?n has to offer very strong conceptual teachings that can only be either right or wrong.
There can be no "relative truth" here, as fans of a plurality of "true religions" may think.

Judgement by Allah is based on how much people act according to these conceptual teachings and see them as true.
And this is something even possible for people who never ever heard about the qur'?n or about names like Muhammad or whatever.
The teachings that are mentioned in al-qur'?n are possible to know and follow under circumstances that don?t know the qur'?n as an entity in pages.

Let?s take some of these teachings

              1. Murder is wrong.
This can only be either right or wrong. There?s no relativity to this (Iam here excluding selfdefence etc. from my definition of murder, as does the qur'?n).
In that case Allah?s judgement will be according to if a person sees this as true and acts that way.
It does not matter what his label or culture is.

              2. Adultery is wrong.
Same applies as with number 1. Doesn?t matter if you call yourself a Buddhist or Hindu or whatever. What matters is, do you see this as true and act accordingly or do you reject this concept.

              3. There is only one eternal truth (al-Haqq), one absolute (Allah) with no associates.
This is either right or wrong.
There is, again, no relativity in viewpoint here.
Buddhists may naturally call this truth not by arabic names and their conception of it may be less clear than it is given in the qur'?n.
But they can still uphold this truth and not compromise their devotion to it by other things.

Al-isl?m in al-qur'?n is not a term for a certain group or culture, not a religion.
It is a set of convictions and connected actions.
A set that you may find with people in all cultures, with all labels, with all languages.
And it is the only set that is true!

              regards,

              Leyla

                  The gist is

It is not so much a matter of if you call yourself a Hindu, or a Buddhist, or a Sunni or whatever.
                  The matter of judgement is
What are your convictions and to which actions do they lead you ?

Either you have good convictions (im?n) and act in a constructive (salih) way, or you reject (kafara) this.
Both may come in measures, though.

I would like to guide your attention to qur'?n chapter 11 verses 116-117.
There you will learn that Allah never punishes a community when its members belong to those who fully act in a constructive way (muSlih?n). No word about religion here! Actions!
Constructive actions flow from good convictions. bad actions flow from rejection (kufr) of good convictions.
                  That simple!

                    P.S.

But does that mean that you dont have to follow what the Quran says ?

When you got to know to the qur'?n and it shows its truth to you in your own frame of experience (chapter 41 vers 53, chapter 51 verses 20-21),
then you are compelled to follow it.
Rejecting it despite clear signs and proof would be a severe rejection (kufr) and you would be judged accordingly.

However, you can not refer this judgement to someone who never ever really had a chance to get to know to the qur'?n, by whatever circumstances.

You are only judged with regards to your own experiences and how you deal with them and so is everybody else.

I agree 99%!! The 1% disagreement is the using of "He" to describe THAT which manifests both male and female.

Regarding the question someone asked about "what is the Book of Creation?", that would be Al Kitaab, the one book that all of mankind can read at anytime, just as the same sun shines on all of us from the beginning of the earth.

                              Peace Lote Tree

I can only repeat what idolfree asked you
Where is war proscribed in the qur'?n?

                              As a general commandment? Nowhere.

All the context in the qur'?n regarding fighting are clear that it is always in defence of the oppressed, setting up justice or for similar causes.
There are situations when it is just simply unethical to proscribe "turning the other cheek".

i believe islam is not merer uttereance more of a state of something. The hearts matter more. God knows what's in all our hearts. Therefore, those who call themselves 'muslims' doesn't automatically make them muslims and vise versa, nor do they get a free-ticket into paradise.

All the Quran is full of the message what to follow and what is right religion.

I think you never read these verses

                                  003.019
003.019 The Religion before Allah is Islam (submission to His Will) Nor did the People of the Book dissent therefrom except through envy of each other, after knowledge had come to them. But if any deny the Signs of Allah, Allah is swift in calling to account.

                                  Al-Qur'an, 003.019 (Aal-E-Imran )

                                  003.067
003.067 Abraham was not a Jew nor yet a Christian; but he was true in Faith, and bowed his will to Allah's (Which is Islam), and he joined not gods with Allah.

                                  Al-Qur'an, 003.067 (Aal-E-Imran )

002.132 And this was the legacy that Abraham left to his sons, and so did Jacob; "Oh my sons! Allah hath chosen the Faith for you; then die not except in the Faith of Islam."

                                  Al-Qur'an, 002.132 (Al-Baqara )

                                  003.083
003.083 Do they seek for other than the Religion of Allah?-while all creatures in the heavens and on earth have, willing or unwilling, bowed to His Will (Accepted Islam), and to Him shall they all be brought back.

                                  Al-Qur'an, 003.083 (Aal-E-Imran )

                                  003.085
003.085 If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah), never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter He will be in the ranks of those who have lost (All spiritual good).

                                  Al-Qur'an, 003.085 (Aal-E-Imran )

VE, there is absolutely no need to call someone's question stupid. You have to learn to control yourself.

If you want, I can pull out Qur'anic verses saying as much, since I'm sure you'll just dismiss me and call me stupid as well.

I call them stupid..because when they need to reject ahadith, or do whatever they wish, Then they have hundreds of arguments to pass. But in case of these simple things, they are not clear.

                                      Anyway I edit my comment.

I can only repeat what idolfree asked you
Where is war proscribed in the qur'?n?
                                        As a general commandment? Nowhere.

"Fighting is prescribed upon you, and you dislike it. But it may happen that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and it may happen that you love a thing which is bad for you. And Allah knows and you know not." (2216)

2216 Transliteration Kutiba AAalaykumu alqitalu wahuwa kurhun lakum waAAasa an takrahoo shay-an wahuwa khayrun lakum waAAasa an tuhibboo shay-an wahuwa sharrun lakum waAllahu yaAAlamu waantum la taAAlamoona

                                        Literal
It is written/ordered on you the fighting/killing, and it is hated to you and maybe/perhaps you hate a thing and it is best/good to you, and maybe/perhaps you like/love a thing and it is bad/evil to you, and God knows, and you do not know.

Free-Minds - Warfare has been decreed for you while you hate it; and perhaps you may hate something while it is good for you, and perhaps you may love something while it is bad for you; God knows while you do not know.

I do believe that Islam is the only true religion in the world and that we should not be ignorant of it but lets take this situation for eg. Why will a hindu person go to hell or be punished when he/she believes in his/her religion so firmly? In the end, its not ones fault that he is of a particular religion etc etc ...
