Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu

The wisdom behind Allah Taala prohibiting homosexuality seems to be for the same reason He has prohibited the consumption of pork.

"For ye practise your lusts on men in preference to women ye are indeed a people transgressing beyond bounds." (781)

In this way we can see how Allah Taala has termed the homosexuals as musrifoon, people who trangress beyond the bounds and limits for humanity. In all aspects of life, there are limits which we cannot cross; ours is a religion of moderation. In terms of diet, there are good things which Allah Taala has allowed us, but there are limits, for example we cannot eat khinzeer or drink any alcohol. Similarly, in terms of whom we can marry, there are natural limits which Allah Taala has set, so that we can only marry with women, and not men.

Regarding the punishment for homosexual behaviour, it is not set in stone as the case with other major sins such as murder and theft. The people of Sadum were the first society to practice this vile transgression. Allah Taala sent them the Prophet Lut (alaihi salaam) to warn them against their evil deeds, but they rejected him, so Allah Taala destroyed them by turning their city upside down and raining upon them brimstone, which caused their destruction

And we rained down on them a shower (of brimstone) Then see what was the end of those who indulged in sin and crime! (784)

Therefore I think the punishment for them should be stoning to death.

      Salam,

Obedience to Allah is not questioning his instructions or deciding that because you can not see the harm in one of his instructions that you can dismiss it and form your own path.

Following the straight path and being a submitter is submitting to Allah even if you don't always understand.

I know you are referring to what Angel wrote, but I agreed with her in that point. Now tell mewhat are the instructions of God regarding what some feels towards another as long as they do not act accordingly? Would you say the same thing if this man was attracted to a woman ?

??? If God was able to punish only those that should be punished, do you think we humans could do the same ? Just think of the many people innocented after their execution...

And even if you wish to take the book literally - where does it tell you to stone homosexuals ?

        Peace lk

I think only God has the right to do so. If God feels it necessary he can easily bring down rocks from the sky on his own.
I don't believe the Quran has any mention of God telling people they should throw stones at another person until death.

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wa salaam) said ?Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Loot, execute the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.? (At-Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah, Abu Dawud)

Now I know most of you dont believe in his sayings, but since I do, this is why I believe the punishment for it is stoning. The hadith gives no specific punishment, but my personal opinion is stoning because that is what Allah did to them. But if people want to use other means of execution that is fine with me.

we dont use those texts as law, after all, outside of "religion" this is not moral, it is only going to make gays revolt against you and they will kill straight people, also,if you live in the west why arent you killing them? u are disobeying the prophet?
homosexuality will be eliminated by removing the mindless elite in power who with their media feed the homo stuff to your kids, not by killing them.

                Peace yusha,

i especially like the last sentence, and what a sentence. ;D But stoning or any other kind of execution is not fine with me and many other participants of this forum. May be you should try to find out more on this forum about why many don't believe in hadith without any offense to the prophet Muhammed. Also, according to your hadith, what's going to happen to the "one to whom it is done" if he's being raped ? Well i can imagine, it's kind of his problem. Like the poor raped woman that gets stoned for adultery because her four rapists testify against her. hmm

you can't pro-create with two males or two females, its lust for the sake of lust with no end result

not to be so insensitive but how's that so much different than beastiality?

In beastiality it is a human being taking advantage over an animal against it's will, in short it's animal rape! In homosexual lust it is 2 consenting adults, that is a huge difference! But lust aside,

Brother Yusha, none of your quotes specifies homosexual love, the feeling homosexuals have for each other. What it does state is the act and lust involved. Even your hadith fails to mention this.

My question to you is, should 2 people in love with each other still be stoned to death, even if they control their nafs and have not committed any acts of lust?

In the past I have compared homosexuality to incest, and that was just out of order -X -[. (I apologise to all you gay people out there peace

I believe 415/16 is referring to prostitution.

So these were a people who were not always homosexual, but rather they were a people who enjoyed raping strange men from out of town.

27/55 you practice sex with the men, lustfully, instead of the women. Indeed, you are ignorant people.

Nurd how did you come to the conclusion that they ?raped men??

                          Peace be upon you.

WHY THE HELL CANT U BIGOTS ACCEPT THAT YOU CAN BE GAY AND A GOOD MUSLIM!!? >

                              1. If you use the argument that anal sex shouldnt be used, then i could live with that. There are other things that you can do, the sole purpose of sex isnt just procreation, or else you would have to tell all couples who cant have children to stop having sex. Sex is also used for bonding and pleasure.

                              2. Lust is lust, there is rarely any emotional feeling like love ever involved. Being Gay/Bi means you are able to LOVE and be in a RELATIONSHIP with someone of the same gender. SO DONT EVER COMPARE ME TO SOMEONE WHO IS A PEDOPHILE WHO BEASTIALITY! That is very demeaning and can not be proven, it just shows your hatred and close minded ness

                              3. I am a Bi muslim, meaning that I can love anyone for WHO they are, not just because of their looks. I do prefer men, and feel that my soul mate is one. What I do in private will be none of your business, as should be with everyone's sex life.

                              4. Stop blaming gays for making society go down the whole. It is honestly the lack of morals and faith in America. It is because TEENS are now having sex, because fathers arent staying home with the pregnant mothers, because we have no idea what TRUE LOVE is. What happens to family units (aka mother and father) is not to be blamed on the gays.

                              5. The problem with the gay society, can be blamed on people like yourselves. The ones who keep on rejecting them and making them feel as though not even God cares for or loves them! Even if you think it is wrong, you should never hurt them or make them feel like crap. Most gay teens who grew up religious (Abrahamic traditions, meaning anti-gay) usually commit suicide because they dont know how to "fix their problem". The non religious stay away because they are rejected, but because they turn from God, they turn to drugs, alcohol, and promiscuity to get rid of the pain of emptiness which only God can fix

                              6. Lust in general (when not directed at the mate) is bad. However, i do plan on loving whoever God has picked out for me, be it male or female.

                              7. Johnny K, stop this whole BS about trying to protect the women from STD's and that gay men are evil and are out to kill everyone. The Black commuinty and Africans have the highest victims of Aids, and they are straight. So sexuality doesnt mean that u are at higher risk of disease, your lifestyle (aka promiscuity, drugs, partying) raises or lowers ur chances.

I did NOT choose to be Bi and find men attractive, hell I was raised BAPTIST with a Black father and white mother who are theologians. I almost killed myself because i thought God could never love me for what I was. I tried to change, but I couldn't. So its either I live a lie or i be who I am, so i chose to be me and I am happy. Finding the real Islam has brought so much peace to me. I am still a virgin, I keep away from the party scene, i look for good personalities in people, and I try hard to be a good muslim. SO DONT YOU F***IN DARE TRY TO JUDGE ME ON MY SEXUALITY, OF WHICH YOU DONT KNOW!

ok now that I have cooled off and now back in my sane mind lol, let me make this a lil bit more clearer.

I did not choose to have these FEELINGS (aka love, wanting to be with them in relationship, things that people do when in love). If I was given a chance to be "normal" I wouldnt do it, because its not who I am, its like asking someone to give up their favorite sport or something they love. But trust me, NO ONE, would want to choose to be this way. With always trying to find someone who has good morales, great personality, and basically good match, and most important swings ur way (last part is kinda hard lol)
I try to be a good muslim, i try to follow God and his commands, but i mess up, who hasnt? As far as I know, the ONLY unforgivable sin is shirk. I believe that there is NO God but Allah, and He ALONE is worthy of worship and praise. I try to follow the Quranic laws and keep on the Straight path (which doesnt mention anything about homosexuality).

So besides you guys trying to point out what YOU think is wrong and blaming everything on us for whats wrong with society why not follow this verse
"That is because God was not to change anything He bestowed to a people, unless they change what is in themselves. God is Hearer, Knowledgeable." (The Message 853)

Which I interpret as, deal with your own problems and leave other people alone. God will lead them, and I am believer. If I am wrong, then I pray God forgive me. But I doubt God would want me to live a life of painful loneliness and not knowing what its like to have True Love.

                                    1. And when Our messengers came to Lot, he was grieved on their account and he felt discomfort for them and said ?This is a distressful day.?
                                    2. And his people came rushing towards him, and before it they were committing sin, he said ?My people, these are my daughters, they are purer for you, so be aware of God and do not disgrace me regarding my guests. Is there no sane man among you??
                                    3. They said ?You know we have no interest in your daughters, and you are aware of what we want!?
                                    4. He said ?If only I had strength against you, or I could find for myself some powerful support.?
                                    5. They said ?O Lot, we are your Lord?s messengers; they will not be able to harm you, so travel with your family during the cover of the night and let not any of you look back except for your wife, she will be afflicted with what they will be afflicted. Their appointed time will be the morning. Is the morning not near??

You'll see that they came to Lots house in the shape of men.. The people of the city of Lot came to get the men, Lot offered up his daughters who were pure. They had no interest in his daughters Lot was aware of what they really wanted.

Now this to me signifies that they were planning to use the men against their will in the way they would have used Lots pure daughters.

                                      Peace Geoffthethird,

First, let me just mention that you might want to cool off first and be in your 'sane mind' before you post, it will be better for you. I can totally understand your anger, but you have to remember we also have some rules on the forum. If you feel someone has insulted you personally, please feel free to report it to the mods or my self.

A few things I thought I'd comment on what you said, even though I know where these type threads always end up... nowhere.

I am a Bi muslim, meaning that I can love anyone for WHO they are, not just because of their looks. I do prefer men, and feel that my soul mate is one.
One thing I didn't understand, or found contradictory, from your two posts was first you mentioned you prefer men to women, and then you mentioned that you're still a virgin. ???

What I do in private will be none of your business, as should be with everyone's sex life.
Yet you seem to be advertising it to the world right here. ??? That's another thing I never quite understood, of anyone, not just you... the need to say it and to everyone. I don't talk to my friends about my sex life... maybe that's just me.

The problem with the gay society, can be blamed on people like yourselves. The ones who keep on rejecting them and making them feel as though not even God cares for or loves them!
Does it really matter though. I mean, I don't think people should gay-bash or be hateful of anyone... but really, if you believe in GOD, does it matter? Messengers of God were not only mocked and ridiculed, some people violated them and others they killed. Again, that doesn't make the hater right, but if anything, it should increase your faith in God.

I try to be a good muslim, i try to follow God and his commands, but i mess up, who hasnt? As far as I know, the ONLY unforgivable sin is shirk.
I wholeheartedly agree with the first part. We are human, we mess up, but we can only get up and try again and try our best. But saying that only forgivable sin is shirk is like giving yourself a go ahead on everything else that's not permitted. I'm not just talking about homosexuality, I'm just pointing out it's flawed reasoning.

SO DONT EVER COMPARE ME TO SOMEONE WHO IS A PEDOPHILE WHO BEASTIALITY! That is very demeaning and can not be proven, it just shows your hatred and close minded ness.
If you don't mind, may I recommend a movie called 'The Woodsman' with Kevin Bacon, very well made and some powerful points in there on pedophilia. Check it out, when you get the chance and tell me what you think of it.

If I was given a chance to be "normal" I wouldnt do it, because its not who I am, its like asking someone to give up their favorite sport or something they love.
Are you seriously going to go with that example?

Anyways, I apologize if I have offended you, but I just wanted to find out more on how you think on these issues.

                                      Peace be with you.

                                        As-Salaam Alaykum,
I would like to apologize for my outbursts and hostile attitude. I sometimes get very aggrivated when people generalize homosexuals and drop up conclusions and facts from these generalizations.

But to answer Angel's question, i interpret 2755
2755 "You are approaching the men out of lust instead of the women! No, you are an ignorant people!"
I see it as that these men were straight, but they only slept with men out of lust, instead of a desire for love and being in a relationship. Like someone mentioned earlier, there is no mention of gay love in the Quran.

                                        Now for Zenji's questions

                                        1. I prefer men in the state that i find them more attractive and would rather be in a relationship with them, but i am a virgin. I wont have sex until im married or in committed relationship with God as our base and guide

                                        2. You misunderstand me, i am telling you how i feel so that people can understand my pov and where I am coming from. However, since I have never had sex, all I can tell u is my feelings and emotions, which shouldnty be banned from public. I am talking about knowing where the line is and not to cross it

                                        3. The thing is that they knew God was behind them and they were persecuted for religious reasons. However, homosexuals are attacked on who they are, and are constantly told by almost every major sect that God considers them an abomination. Plus why would anyone turn to something that keeps on hurting them (aka faith/religion). Alhamduillah, I was lucky to be guided by Allah, but alot more homosexuals arent able to here that the religion of Islam accepts them

                                        4. I would never say its ok to break other sins, i am just saying that Homosexuality is not the greatest sin and should not be treated as if it is, meaning to stop targeting a whole group of people

                                        5. Ok yeah that was a bad example lol. But still its hard to explain how I feel to someone who doesn have anything similar to it

come on, did you think of the implications of this statement before you hit that post button?

to me what this statement is saying is something akin to "if you're still a virgin you can't really be sure"

which leads to "go out and try it to make sure"

which would lead to not being a virgin anymore.

it's geoff's sexuality, i'm pretty sure he knows what he's attracted to

the story of lot is about gang rape and severing lineage, etc.

not your average run of the mill homosexuals... that's right i typed homosexuals, not just male hs... i can type the entire word! woot!

                                          i must be straight

the world has alot bigger problems... like people going around blowing themselves up... or invading smaller countries and stealing their oil

and until we stop paying taxes to our governments which go around the world enacting regime change we don't really have anything to say about who geoff wants to kiss
