From what Ive heard and personally agree with, the messenger is all the messengers, since they all preached the same message, which is the most important thing of them all. I think the ones with knowledge is similar, in that they have accepted the message and live their lives based on that. Also, learning the scripture. Again thats my interpretation and from what I have heard on this board.
Abraham was the Imam for his people.
The message was the same 100,000 years ago to the present. La elaha illa allah, there is no god beside/except Allah.

The Prophet's sole mission was to deliver Quran, the whole Quran, and nothing but Quran (320; 548-50, 92, 99; 619; 1340; 1635, 82; 2454; 2918; 4248; 6412).
Moreover, the Prophet was enjoined in the strongest words from issuing any religious teachings besides the Quran (6938-47). He was even enjoined from explaining the Quran (7515-19) - God is the only teacher of the Quran (551-2) and the Quran is the best Hadith (3923 & 456).
3945 And when God Alone is mentioned, the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter are filled with aversion; and when others are mentioned beside Him, they rejoice!

That is what He enjoined you that you may comprehend."732 Say "Who has forbidden the nice things that God has brought forth for His servants and the good provisions?" Say "They are meant for those who believe during this worldly life, and they will be exclusive for them on the Day of Resurrection." It is such that We explain the revelations for those who know.
733 Say "My Lord has forbidden all lewd action, what is obvious from them and what is subtle, and sin, and aggression without cause, and that you set up partners with God that which He has never authorized, and that you say about God what you do not know."
1635 And those who set up partners said "If God had wished it, we would not have served anything besides Him; neither us nor our fathers; nor would we have forbidden anything without Him." Those before them did the exact same thing; so are the messengers required to do anything but deliver with clarity?

but it does say to obey the messenger, now how do i do that since he's dead and i don't wanna follow hadith because personaly i find most of them retarded, so in what way do i follow him?and who are the ones with knowledge? imams? parents? teachers in school? because everybody has some knowledge but sometimes they say things that are not in the quran,

If you want to understand about a disease, for example, you do not search for a righteous person, but you ask a doctor. If you want to know how much your house is worth, ask a surveyor. In the court, judges should seek testimony or proofs from the experts.

"the ones with knowledge" no human has all the knowledge and a person with very intelligent interpretations on some things can be very wrong on other. So imo it comes down to "listen to all the information and chose the best" (for your present state of development).

386 And the leaders among them went out "Walk away, and remain patient to your gods. This thing can be turned back."4047 And when they argue in Hell, the weak will say to those who were arrogant "We used to be your followers, can you take from us any portion of the Fire?"
4323 And similarly, We did not send a warner to a town, except its carefree ones said "We found our fathers following a certain way, and we are being guided in their footsteps."

You are right, and I've been there.
Leave the possibility of both open (I also do this) , don't be strict in what you believe...What really matters is doing good, and avoid evil, all these other things are trivial. Above all else, it has to make sense in every way. Just constantly study and stay open-minded. Truth matters above all else.

The Quran is very clearZFirst mistake, the above role was not the prophet's role, but in fact, the "messenger's" role. Secondly, as explained earlier, the recitation of the quranic verses alone , imparts knowldege of scripture and wisdom, and by default, the verses are able to purify the souls.
