There's a member here called Mr.Humble who thinks the purpose of Free-minds is to misguide people. That it's a conspiracy against God. He is under the impression that Layth and other responsible for the site are purposely posting lies on the website so as to lead others astray. I would like him to explain and allow the other side the chance to explain, as well, because assuming others' intentions is a very wrong thing to do.

As "Lobster" has brought this subject to our attention we must give our full priority to verify the truth of what Mr. Humble says in a very "humble" manner - which we believe is the manner of Islam. I think it would be great if "Lobster would answer him first,so that we can follow.

Free your minds.Keep up the good work and shun evil from its roots.

wanna know why some people believe that free-minds is a jewish conspiracy?

well the first modern person to suggest that the ahadith are unreliable was a hungarian jew.

          Read his profile
          http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ignaz_Goldziher

          his books look interesting.

should be read by progressive muslims

does anyone know where i could get some english translations of his books?

Peace Nadeem, long time no see.
I'm not speaking for Mr. Humble. We had a conversation relating to free-minds last week and he said that the people who run free-minds are intentionally posting lies to deceive people. I thought that was ridiculous. I posted this here so that the administrators and the writers of the articles can tell their side of the story and so mr.humble can explain why he thinks that.

The most I spent on a book was ?170/$340, which was Lane's Lexicon. When I got it I sent it away to be cut/separated and scanned, and never used it again.

                                Best money I ever spent.

According to this cartoon I recall watching when I was a kid (I might've been , books were so very expensive in Europe a few centuries ago that this guy sold his castle to buy one. I don't know if that's true or if my memory - which praise God is normally phenomenal - of what I saw about 13 years ago I think is a bit distorted.

If you happen to cross paths with Rifat again, ask him to state his case and post his evidence. Otherwise, there's not much to it, right?

unfortunately it's very hard to have a conversation with Rifat because he insists on saying "praise be to Allah" every two minutes (fan of the literal interpretation, i'm assuming). and he keeps calling me arrogant and what not, so...

I'm not sure if it was right of me to post this but I thought it was absolutely ridiculous how he was accusing free-minds of decieving people and I thought i'd bring it out in the open so it can be discussed and the accused can defend themselves.

I'm surprised you actually posted this as I thought you were a fan of evidence based discussion.

Once Mr Humble brings forth some actual evidence, then we can discuss. I pointed this out to him here, he never responded.
