  • Finding piece of mind..
    A air

air-I really don't know where my life is heading, I'm just "going with the flow," waiting for something to happen that will put me back on track. What that thing is, I don't know. I'm just waiting...

It might (also) have to do with other things. Just a suggestion.

    I hope I haven't offended u.

    ma'a salaam.

    God bless all.

    al'hamd li Allaah Rabb al'aalameen

Actually yes, there are other things. Four of my very close friends have died these past 2 years, and this has caused me to think about death a lot. I am just so afraid to die with doubt in my heart.

Anyway I'm sure we have all felt this lost at some point in our lives. Takes time to figure things out.

Someone wise once said "the problem with going with the flow is you wind up getting sucked down the drain".

Life is a challenge my friend, embrace it!

    Ya, that's pretty much true.

Decided to post my thoughts here, because if I expressed them anywhere else (family, relatives, friends), I would be faced with fierce opposition.

    Thanks.

  • Sunni scholar unable to answer a question on live TV infront of millions.
    A air

Everyone I know in the middle east watches this channel..
I hope they didn't see this because their faith is linked to hadith and the current understanding of Islam.
When it comes to this hadith/tadition confusion we face today, IGNORANCE IS BLISS.
Your average Muslim, prays, fasts, and lives a life with faith, without getting into these issues. Allah is the All Merciful, these people who live such a life have pure intentions. It's the scholars that mess everything up...

So..ya.. When you have people who don't know the core issues, it's better they stay in their pure intentions.

This live broadcast did a lot of damage, increasing the amount of apostates...

If you check the arabic forums, they are all confused about this issue.

    Salam.

    Peace to all,

yeh me to air, cause the rest of us are just stupid and unedjimucated peons, we shouldnt even have the right to think and speak for ourselves.

    Kurt

I did not mean it that way bro
I meantioned these people's names because they have written articles that I have read and found to be interesting and enlightening. In other words, they are the only ones I know. I am new here and I don't know everyone

My bad, sorry guys. Shoulda phrased it better. It sounded like I was saying that these people are smart and everyone else is dumb. I by no means meant that angel

Layth and Wakas you guys have come to the same conclusion, which makes sense in my opinion.
But do we really know who these people in the third group are? I think if we are able to figure this out, we can clarufy intercession ever FURTHER.

But at the same time, the exact nature of the Day of Judgement is beyond human comprehesion therefore we may never fully know all teh factors involved.

What do you guys think of the shia's interpretation? It sure makes more sense than sunni's.
I guess the shia are atleast closer to the correct interpretation than the sunnis.

Here this shia site shows how salafis make the big mistake of making literal interpretations of the Noble Qur'an. It shows how intercession should not be approached from the literal sense.

Tell me what you guys think of the video. You think he's got the correct (or somewhat accurate) interpretation?

I think if we implement the various shades of definition (that Arnold Yasin provided above) of the word Shafa'a with the interpretation of the shia's perspective (as mentioned above), we can reach a better understanding of the concept of intercession.

Tell me what you guys think,

  • What is this forum basically based on?

Your statement is ambigious since I am not sure wether you meant the word "followers" refer to my name besides Rashad's. If it is indeed what you meant, then you should know that I have no followers, which includes my close family mambers. Furthermore, I do not wish anyone follow me.

    Salam Edip,

My post actually reads the way you interpreted it, and I did not mean it that way. It was a quick post, I didn't really read at again to check for mistakes. The "followers" was meant for Rashad. I just saw your name mentioned on a Submitters website, where your the author of a new translation of the Holy Qur'an. I do not really know you that much, but I just assumed that you were a big part of the Submitters movement. I did not mean any offense with my post whatsoever. It was just due to my ignorance on the topic that I mentioned your name.

Although I do not agree with all of the Submitters beliefs, I do agree with their interpretation of Hadith and things of that sort.
Therefore I did not mean to insult any group whatsoever, it was just my mistake of not seperating your name from Rashad's name.

I hope you understand where I am coming from angel

  • Finding piece of mind..
    A air

    Hey guys,

I was once a committed muslim who prayed 5 times a day and had a simple outlook in life. I never looked deeply into my religion and only kept to the basics. I was able to focus on all kinds of matters in my life, like uni work and all while keeping my religion with me.

But now after reading all kinds of articles online and watching countless random videos on islam on youtube, I am the most confused human being on the planet. Sometimes I wish I never had internet to begin with because all it has caused me is confusion.

All I wanted in life was to get my degree, get married, raise a healthy family, and simply live to be an old pious Muslim. But now, this "simple" plan has become such a challenge, because I do not even know the base my religion stands on. I'm left daydreaming on a daily basis, and wasting a lot of time I should be using to study.

I really don't know where my life is heading, I'm just "going with the flow," waiting for something to happen that will put me back on track. What that thing is, I don't know. I'm just waiting...

Just thought I should throw that out there..

  • Miracle: Clouds forming the word "Allah"
    A air

What do you guys think of this?

Here is a picture of when the Apollo 11 was leaving the Earth's atmosphere. Notice how "Allah" is written in the clouds with accurate calligraphy.

    http//www.islamcan.com/miracles/images/apollo.jpg

After I saw this picture, I wanted to verify it, so I got the Discovery documentary "In The Shadow of The Moon" DVD which was shown in theatres in 2007 which documents the whole trip of Appolo 11, from preparation, launch to how they came back. In the movie they use RAW UNTOUCHED footage of the scene in the picture. IT IS THE EXACT SAME THING.

Here is the trailer of the documentary, which contains the scene in the picture, so you yourself can verify it . It is shown at 204 of the trailer.

    General Issues / Questions

  • Right of intercession granted for the third group?
    A air

Intercession has caused much confusion because those who try to understand it don't know the exact nature of it. They do not know all the factors involved. When they see that some verses in the Qur'an say that there will be no intercession at all, and then other verses that say that there will not be any intercession except as Allah Wills, they get a bit confused.

I think the reason for this confusion is that they automatically assume that there will be 2 groups on the day of judgement, the left that the right.
But in 567 it clearly mentions how there will be three groups, the ELITE, the RIGHT, and the LEFT. The Surah goes on to explain the nature of each group. It mentions how members of the ELITE will consist of many of those of old, and few of those of later time. And that the RIGHT, will consist of many of both the old and of later time.

So do the verses (103, 20109, 1987, 3423, 4386, 5326, etc.) that explicitly mention how intercession can occur WITH ALLAH's PERMISSION on the day of Judgement be directed to this third group?

There are many intelligent people on this forum who have more knowledge of the Qur'an than I do. Could you guys do research on the issue of intercession on the basis that there will be THREE groups on that day and not just simply two?

    Thanks alot.
    Salam.

  • What does "Shafa'a" REALLY mean?
    A air

What is "Shafa'a"? What does it REALLY mean?

Can we truly rely on the definition we curently believe in? If so, then how do we explain the contradictions that arise in the Noble Qur'an concerning intercesion when we implement the definition we currently use?

When we use our current definition (shafa'a=intercession)
    Will there be intercession?
    No .
    Yes .

Does it have a deeper meaning? Does have different shades of meaning? Or does it have a different meaning altogether?

Can we all come to the table and truly put this word under the microscope and find out what it really stands for? And eventually, with Allah's permission, we can truly return this term back to it's original nature.

    Questions/Comments on the Quran

  • Were we meant to differ and split into sects?
    A air

    Salam Alaykum ,

When we look at those who lived before us, way back, even before the time of Jesus (AS) and and even before Moses (AS), do we not see those past people as humans like us? Like if all those scriptures and messages were corrupted, the corruption obviously didn't end with Jesus (AS) and the Gospel. Iblis has done it over and over again, destroyed one faith after another. He doesn't give up until his victims turn into polytheists. In the Noble Qur'an, we know that if Allah willed for all the People of the Book to be guided then none of them would of been misguided.
This corruption has been going on from day one. And if it happened to all those people in the past, wouldn't it also happen to us? The arabs weren't some chosen race , and muslims are not some special group, compared to those who lived before us. Each messenger has had enemies among Jinn and Man.

One civilisation after the other, Iblis has taken hold. He has turned nearly all of them into polytheists, but to this day, after 1400 years, Islam maintains it's monotheistic principle. We are to go through similar trials of corruption just like those before us. Since Allah Almighty promised to protect the Noble Qur'an , don't you think that that corruption would occur in the hadith? I'm sure most of the people on this forum agree with me anyway.

But here is my question. Do you think that this cycle of corruption and differing is simply the nature of things since the beginning of man? And that through all this confusion, Allah guides whom He pleases? In other words, only Allah Almighty has the power to filter what a person hears, and He is the only one that can guide a person through of all this confusion.

    Salam Alaykum,

I want to know what this forum is mainly about. Is it filled with "submitters" or is it a mix of sunnis, shias (those who don't really follow hadith, but MAINLY Qur'an) and other kinds of Muslims? Is it filled with edip yuksel and rashid khalifa followers?

Does it have different points of views or just one?
I hope my question is clear.
