My thought is the following Could be Humans are creating their own "Haven" or "Hell" based on their deeds. Every soul shall be attracted to the realms which matches with his/her personality... Just like listening to radio station, but there is NOT ONLY 2 radio stations, there are many, hundreds, thousands, millions or perhaps unlimited. And those who like Jazz shall tune out to the jazz radio station. those who like stand up comedy will tune to the comedy station and so on... A realm where there's no chance of dominating and enslaving others, no possibility of invading or making a war with others might not be too interesting for a warlord. He / she will be tuned in to the realm where there's ample opportunity to enslave people, warring with someone and do the things he / she loved the most and experiencing the things that he / she loved the most. (#hate, #fear, #pride) A realm where there are enslavement of 72 virgins might not be considered as "Heaven" for a human rights activist. He / she will consider it as "Hell", he / she will either leave the realm or try to change the realm by trying to free all enslaved virgins. If it's actually the experience of 'freeing enslaved person' is an experience which actually he / she desire the most. In the end, everybody will get what they wish for...

Style The article is well organized, to the point, very powerful and easy to read. Content It examines almost everything; function, timing, the "middle" salaat, the "friday" salaat, SJD etc. I really like how it starts by looking at functionality to define the meaning. Always cross-referencing. Note Everyone knows these expressions "allahuma salli 3ala" / "salla allah 3alayh". If you don't really know what it means or if we should say it or not, read this article. Peace, There are verses that are hard to understand but the Koran itself says it has secrets and hidden meanings. But the general message is extremely easy. I agree with this. The Qur'an mentions it's secrets, and the knowledge and understanding is grasped by those with pure minds and hearts, with God's guidance and mercy. However, the overall message in the scripture is to worship God ALONE, which is a pretty simple message, as long as the readers are willing to abandon all their various forms of idols. Islam is no personal salvation religion, but a Divine programme to guide Mankind into becoming one unity and to have harmony with Reality. But the Arabic word FalyaSsumhu isn't plural. Peace, If you live in a tropic region then I'm sure you have a season where it is hotter than other seasons. If it is the the same all year long then just pick one month out of the year to fast in. Peace, I used to disagree with the extreme heat idea. But now I do agree with it. However, there had to be some reconciliation with grammatical features. The only way it works is if shah-ru ramadaana is read s shahru-rramadaana and understood as shah-run ramadaanan, which would equal shah-run saifan, and the alladhee has to refer to the Quran, and the hi in feehi to God/ in it(referring to the month). Therefore shahruramadaana (A month of during heat (literally heat-wise) alladhee unzila feehi al-quraanu (what was revealed in it, was this reading (the Quran). So definitely I agree that we should fast for 30 days during our summer (extremely/consistently hot) seasons. And if we have to suffer through this to complete this task then we can make it up by feeding someone in need for each day of fasting we miss. As for a month being 30 days I've discussed this in other posts and shown how the Quran consistenly relates a month (shahrun) to 30 days. Shahru ramadaana is not possesive. Seconly shahrun does not mean full moon. This is not a definition of the word to be found in any dictionary. Lastly 1 full moon to another full moon is not a shahr if shahr just means full moon, which it doesn't. The only way to understand sharu ramadaan is as a pronunciation of shahrun ramadanan which would equal shah-run saifan. or A month in summer (time of constant or extreme heat).

Peace all, Allah has promised to protect THE MESSAGE, not the literal each and every letter. That is why there are 10 versions of al-qur'aan with minor differences in letters and verse counts, but no difference in the overall message. Any code can only be based on counting letters, but can NEVER ENCODE A MESSAGE, as a message is not like letters that can be counted and codified. The same message can be given by 10 different sentences with different words and letters and in different languages that will still express the same message, even if they do not retain the code properties. On the other hand a text can have contradictory, illogical message and yet can have a mathematical code based on each and every letter, and such a code will accomplish nothing. Example is a "mathematical surah like unto it" at the following link which is "protected" by code 19 http//monotheism.faithweb.com/response.html Code 19 DOES NOT protect against ADDITION or DELETION of surahs or verses from al-qur'aan that have similar code 19 properties. That is a mathematical fact. For example, what if there were 228 (19 x 12) original chapters with many additional chapters that began with initials and had the code 19 property, and 114 of them were deleted ? or what if there were 133 (19 x 7) original chapters and 19 of them were deleted ? Or what if there were only 57 (19 x 3) or 76 (19 x 4) or 95 (19 x 5) original chapters and extra chapters were added to make up the total of 114 chapters ? How come code 19 of al-qur'aan has not been published in a SINGLE scientifically reputable journal. If it really had the wonderful statistical significance based on valid and consistent methodology, it should have appeared in a reputable scientific journal by now. A MIRACLE based on mathematics and statistics not even worthy of being published in a reputable scientific journal ? Does not make any sense. In summary NO CODE (EVEN IF IT EXISTS) can be used to protect even the literal number of words/verses/chapters etc. let alone a MESSAGE.

Are the dictionaries playing with words when they tell us that "aya(t)" means "sign" NOT "verse"? Brother, try to address the issues raised by the parts I quoted from the great reading instead of focusing on style over substance. You admit that the Quran was revealed in verses (and rearranged), yet you want to call those verses as 'signs/ayat' and then make as if the whole affair is insignificant. My whole post was to demonstrate that there is a difference between "aya(t)" and the man-made separation into alleged verses. I care about 'authenticity' and 'facts'... Everybody cares about that. Even Sunnis never say "we care about 'fraud' and 'fiction'." But then they fail to address the facts presented by the great reading and instead focus on nice sounding slogans. The partitioning into "verses" has ZERO effect on authenticity except for those who want to remove parts of the message such as 9128-129. I know that you are not one of those. So what is the big deal about "verses"? If the Scripture was revealed in verse form (which we know it was) then I would like to know where those verses ended and where they began... Verses are sometimes meaningless half sentences without a subject or an object. Since, we know that "signs" were revealed over a period, by saying that "signs" and "verses" are the same thing what you are implying is that The God revealed meaningless half sentences only to complete them a few months (or years) later. Again, you are ignoring to address the examples that I provided from the great reading that prove that several verses can constitute ONE "aya(t)" and that there could be several "aya(t)" in ONE verse. If you want to know when a sign/"aya(t)" begins and ends then the first step is to understand that "aya(t)" means "sign", a fact that, if I didn't know you better I would have thought that you are hopelessly ignorant of. But instead, I think that you know it but for some strange reason choose to neglect it. You seem to think this is a trivial persuit, yet to a student of the Scripture nothing in the way God's words were revaled is 'trivial'. I referred you to The God's words that prove that several alleged verses can be ONE sign and vice versa. Instead of focusing on what "I think", please address those non-trivial words. The history of the language, the history of the revelation, the history of its progression...All these are part and parcell of the where, why, when of one of the most significant events in human history...God's communication with mankind through His prophet. The Scripture encourages all forms of research, verification, and inquiry...Not the opposite...Never the opposite. Although this may sound like an easy question, please keep in mind that those people don't use the same standard calendars and potentially don't know about each other's calendars. In the past, they didn't needed a high accuracy in planning things, Things were going so much slowly in the past, like moving from a place to another, or sending a message or the invitation with limited tools. I think they would fix a period of time for the meetings, such as the changing seasons would be a marker for people to meet at a certain place, for a month or two, giving enough time for people to arrive (max 10-20 miles/h), trips lasted weeks and months, when today it takes one day or least to go around the earth.

Are you still of the idea that you can combine the meanings of full/prominent for shahr and moon for shahr to make it full moon? Are you still of the idea that the one passage in the Quran that would seem to contradict shah-r = 30 days buth which is really not equalling the fasts to feeding people but equaling the crime commited to either feeding 10 people or fasting 3 days, so that there is not compensation for the fasting there or for feeding the 10 people but from the wrong of breaking up with our wives violently and in enmity and then wanting reconciliation, contradicts the clear dictum that to make up one day of fasting equals feeding one person?
