I read your story and found it very interesting. I'm happy for you! I too came to realize that the hadiths are so non-sense that they couldn't be from the Messenger or from God through the Messenger (like the Qudsi).
As for code 19 and the submitters, I haven't read it enough but their point on hadiths is a good point. It's a pitty that most muslims don't even consider questioning hadiths. I had some arguments with them but it's always proven rather worthless... ?
I was told too that complete bull about folding your trousers, grow a beard, don't eat with your left hand, women's salat is more valid in house, dogs are not to be pets, music is discouraged and more endless garbage. I mean, these guys don't live at all! Honestly, I never really believed or followed any of this non-sense before and definitely it was not because of them that I came to Islam, so I'm glad the hadiths are begining to be exposed to the truth.

I was taught that too. And after saying Allah, to say "subhanahu wa ta'ala". I don't say those anymore. I think one can show respect towards the Prophet and towards God through another (more sincere) means, without having to psychotically mumble those arabic formulas all the time.

Speaking for myself, no. Absolutely. It's in our instinct to engage in sexual activity as soon as we can do it. If the society allows it, then there's no issue to it. You only take precautions (anti-contraceptive methods) and go for it, if you have the chance lol

When I say peaceful death it's opposed to that of death by killings or nasty diseases. I'm sure it's never a walk in the park.

The sunni is he who follows the Sunna, that is, the way of the Prophet, Salallahu Alaihi wa Salam. This is achieved by following the major Hadiths (Bukhari, Muslim, Hurayrah and others - Don't forget the Hadith Qudsi/Sacred wich are God's own words through the mouth of Muhammad!!, Salallahu Alaihi wa Salam), siras, general consensus of the 'Umma, one of the four major schools of thought, through fiq (islamic jurisprudence) and, oops - almost forgot roll , the Qur'an, that is, the word of Allah, Subhanahu wa Ta'ala!

The process of dying can be painful. You can be hit by a truck, or stabbed, or burned, or develop serious cancer or other diseases that can cause pain. But it can also be a peaceful normal death.

I believe we should. I don't believe in the dogma of the uncreated Quran because it is the eternal word of God therefore it always existed. I think God spoke to mankind at that specific time (VII Century), in a specific place (Arabian Peninsula), to a specific man (Muhammad), to a specific people (Arabs) with a specific culture and views. Future generations should use this Book as a guide but should treat also in relation to the time when it was revealed. To put things into perspective.

Not in all cases. There is some sura where God orders for muslims to persecute and slay the unbelievers. I can only conceive this as defensive war. Do you think killing the murderer is fair or send him to rot in jail would be better? After all, God will judge everyone in the end and He is the Best of Judges.

You are confusing between the garbage stories of the hadith and the beauty and wisdom of the Scripture (Quran)...In the latter there are no such tales of the last prophet or any other prophets.

Yes, but Muhammad is part of Islam. In the Quran, God says to follow His messenger and that Muhammad is an example for mankind. Therefore, for us to know his example, we have to know his story and his life. This can be achieved only through the hadiths, siras and all that. If those are all corrupted, then it's a dead end!

Sure! Mashallah! God guides whomever He wills. Everyday I pray for God to guide them. I was just saying that they might be shocked at some hadiths and intringued at some Quranic verses as I have been. Miracles can happen. I'm sure of it. But the greatest miracle of all, I reckon, is that we have been gifted with intelligence. An intelligence that puts us apart from all the other creatures in the world, that enables us to reason, to chose, to act upon those choices, to distinguish morals and ethics, to conceptualize, to wonder, etc.

God wants us to put our faith in Him, no matter what. So, no matter how horrible one's life may become, his or her trust must be with God, for unto Him everything returns. This is easier said than done, but a greater reward expects those who persevere, who are patient and remindful of Him.

And let us not forget that much of the pain and misery in this life is man-made. Innocent kids who starve to death aren't guilty of anything but I'm sure that in the Afterlife they'll be much rewarded and pleased.

For the one who only sees this life as the ultimate goal, death, destruction and suffering are not easy to understand, if understandable. But if one firmly believes that even if in this world there is such misery, unjustice and pain, the righteous people will be unimaginably rewarded afterwards, things become easier and comfort is brought into your mind.

I'm everyday more convinced that anyone in his/her own sane mind can't regard the hadiths as uncorrupted. There are so many things in the hadiths that are so nonsense, that it becomes hard to believe that those are God and Prophet's inspired commandments for every little thingy of your life (the right way cut your nails?! please roll ).

The existence of the hadiths mean that some muslims started to consider that the Qur'an itself was not enough for them to live their faith! shock I mean, I'm not saying that there aren't some hadiths who are interesting or that can have some kind of guidance, but to regard it as an authority, second only to the Qur'an is very questionable. Qur'an is the word of God. The hadith is a (too) large bunch of stories of somewhat suspicious origins and orientation.
