Peace, Respect. I didn't say that giving salaams to either side is wrong, I just said that It's not from The Qur'an. I don't do it because it's not from The Qur'an and I follow only The Qur'an. When people ask me why I don't do the same, I respond peacefully that it's not from The Qur'an. God Bless ya. Peace. And if you are leading the "prayer" how would your followers come to know that you have finished it? Shias too don't say salam to either side, but the leader/Imam does pronounce about the termination of prayer. This too you will not find in Qur'aan.

I've never understood why people think being a free muslim is disowning religion.I guess they are brain-washed my hundreds of years of baseless books and traditions.Remember brother,Allah is more important than anyone,and your happiness is very important.Do not please your parents,you will only suffer.Always love and care for your family,but do not fall into any of their traps(emotional blackmail,giving you stories about the prophet).I hope you the best in life.Peace

Most hadiths were sets of rules for that particular time,why inflict it now,after 1400 years.Surely the Quran is the only eternal book of Allah.Most hadiths to me are just outdated traditions.People who follow hadiths over the Quran are commiting shirk.People who have made up these sects are destroying Islam.

All conscious experience, while on the physical plane, is mediated by one set of chemicals or another. There can never be no neurochemistry, only different sets of neurochemistry. You're essentially saying that to be human is to be acting unlawfully.

What you wear is important,but whats the point of wearing a hijab when you got tight-skin jeans and barely any clothes on top.A women should have the right to cover herself,but the hijab does not define a womans level of modesty,of course we still have people with their "backward" views,the veil should be banned,because alot of people are taking advantage of it,and most of it is not nesecerily good.As long as a woman helps people and does not sin,the hijab is a minor issue to me,its like someone saying to me grow a beard,its a personal choice,but a clean-shaven man who prays 5 times a day is better than a bearded man who bombs up innocent people.Peace

For convenience I reproduce Thanks Ayisha. I had completely forgotten to correct/modify the translation which I had initially attempted when I could not find suitable words to describe . Thereafter I had studied about "Sperm" as described by Qur'aan under the caption "The Sperm-its origin and resting/maturing place and journey in male's body to see him off". The description of "water-"" is , Passive participle; singular; masculine. The basic perception infolded in its Root is to use for service and work; to rub/pulverize; the clothes worn in service. Use of clothes also makes them rubbed and smooth textured lacking energy and vitality. But when we apply this process on something like water to take some service or work from it we cannot attribute negativity or contemptibility to the end product. Medical science do not yet use different word/term for the "sperms" when these are in the testis and when these are transported to epididymis for storage where they in fact become "Nutfa-Sperm" as described by Qur'aan. Qur'aan calls the initial stage as extract/ of which afterwards becomes "Nutfa"-2313, in/within firm/strengthening/ stationing place . I now think that "extract of delicately treated water"- might describe the three words. This "extract" gets desiccated in the epididymis which absorbs about 90 percent of the fluid produced by testis. I would like that you pay some attention and suggest some good English words which could describe the term of .

Al Sabr they were still traditionalists. shafi's kitab al-umm seems to indicate 2 different groups of ahl kalam. one totally rejecting hadith another only parts. though if you read what they see they have faults in their arguments and seem to accept hadith. Fazlur Rahman wrote a book "islam" he talks a little about them. AFAIK they still prayed physically not sure about hajj rights. I wouldn't say they're "true Quranists" as many seem to think. Yea, I went through maybe half of this course last year and it's not really what I was looking for. It's great for modern Arabic but doesn't do much in terms of understanding sarf (morphology) which is what is really needed to get the most from the Quran. Did you learn Arabic using the Madinah Arabic course? If you go through all the three books and advanced course videos you will find morphology is also covered. However few books on morphology are available for free download on the net. One source http//sites.google.com/site/asimiqbal2nddownloads/ I did not learn Arabic grammer from their source. Lately I found it and also benefitted from it. After having consulted few books on grammer etc I find that studying grammer, syntax and morphology is far easy if we study it progressively as the Qur'aan teaches it. Qur'aan starts with a preposition. Start with particles/prepositions and one can identify and know about all words of Qur'aan with regard to being noun or verb merely by seeing the text. After prepositional phrase is the Possessive phrase, read about it. Then is Adjectival phrase. Just reading information about these three things which is just one/two page and physically practicing to identify such ten phrases we know about say thirty percent of grammer etc with relation to Qur'aan.

Ah thank you! In the progressive muslims translation, one verse translates his name as isaiah and the other verse as ezekiel. I don't think there is enough information on him in the Quran to be sure who he really was. Agreed. Traditionally it's interpreted as Ezekiel, I think. Not sure why. I had never heard of a possible Buddha reference. I did a google search and apparently the proponents of that interpretation say it refers to Buddha because he was from an area of India named Kapilavastu. Kifl, the theory goes, is an Arabicization of Kapila. Who knows.

rana, we had a lengthy discussion about the meaning of hikma on here not too long ago, unfortunately I don't remember the name of the thread, only that it was started by The Reformer. The highlighting above is from me. Salaan, The Qur?aan, The Forqaan, The Hadith, The Hikmah, The Kitaab, are all one and the same parts of one another. These terms are all confined within The Qur?aan itself. For example, the term Hikmah comes from the THREE-LETTER root word HA-KA-MA meaning ARBITRATION. In other words, meaning to render judgment according to the LAWS and COMMANDMENTS within The Qur?aan. So, when ALLAAH SWT Speaks of HIKMAH anywhere in The Qur?aan, He means the implementation of His laws and His commandments and the way they should be implemented. The point is that All the arbitrations MUST be according to word of GOD Almighty, whether in The Qur?aan, The Torah, and or The Injeel, but NOT any man-made source. See 544,45,47 out of numerous verses in which the derivatives and variations of this term i.e. HA-KA- MA, is used. Peace, Khalil

All excellence belongs to the god almighty; I am just a string vibrating at his command. You are indeed one of those who stand in awe of the god as per 3923 God has sent down the best hadith, a Book fully consistent within itself, repeating each statement in manifold forms. The skins of those who stand in awe of their Lord shiver from it, then their skins and their hearts soften up to the remembrance of God. Such is the guidance of God; He guides with it whoever He wills. And for whoever God misguides, then none can guide him. (3923) May the god bless you and reward you for your efforts.

Hm, does anyone know if FGM is also supported in hadith? No, it's not. There are a few ahdadeeth that indicate that it might have been practiced at the time of the prophet; but first of all they are all weak, and secondly they don't suggest that the prophet actually supported this practice. Scholars who claim it is "Islamic" rely on those ahadeeth, and they also use arguments that have nothing to do with Qur'an or ahadeeth at all. You can find a detailed overview about those ahadeeth and scholars' opinions here. (Sorry for linking to another forum, that text is the most comprehensive one I've come across so far, but the original site where it had been posted is offline now.)

Peace to you all, im starting to see your points, keeping the memory of a dead prophet alive next to God doesnt sound that well no, especially since your faith is supposed to be eternal and thus the expression of it. And ones intention is of course to avoid idolatry whenever possible. Although mentioning Muhammad in the testimony gives a better definition of ones whole faith on a practical level, it deduces from the effect of having ones mind set on God and only God, which is more important than anything else. I am however not trying to alienate myself from other muslims, at least in general. I know that i share the same faith and both our intentions are to worship God alone, but many are of course in my view blind to the mistakes they are commiting. We are by no means that well off in regards to potential flaws. Thank you for your inputs. God be with you. Peace.

Yes, I'm sure that is quite true. It's comforting to think that but it makes me feel that perhaps I should refrain from saying openly what I really think to my friends here so that I can keep the status quo for a bit longer. In terms of my husband though I can't not say anything - I can see there is no way in this world that we will be able to live and manage together if he believes stongly in hadith and I don't (I'm not going to take many hadith laying down...I'm just not). We are going to have to meet in the middle somewhere and in order to do that I have speak about my beliefs. Same here ... I think IRL the only Muslim who knows about my real views on the hadiths is my husband. His family doesn't know, and I won't bring it up because of how narrow-minded they are. At first my husband was terribly angered about me questioning the hadiths, but he's calmed down and I don't bring it up unless there's something he says is in the Qur'an but it's actually from the hadiths. I've been working on reading verses about certain topics so that if a discussion comes up I can refer to what the Qur'an says easily. At least my husband isn't a sunnah-crazy person. D

Why only you got it now? rraza shias do combine prayer, but that just means they believe in 3 times of prayer...they call it 5 times to appease sunnis, im from a shia family so i wud know this. The most funniest comments i have ever read from a Shia (if you are) about three prayers, sorry i just can't stop laughing. You being from Shia family doesnot give you any authority over their established believes The Shia acknowledge FIVE daily PRAYERS.
