f what would happen if every tom, dick and harry is given the moral and ethical authority and justification to interpret the quran for himself But actually we are given that authority. Or where does it say that only such and such a person can interpret or authorize interpretations of Qur'an. Everybody does it, even though they may think that follow somebody else. They follow that which arranges them most, whatever else they may tell themselves about their reasons. Or how do we know whose interpretations we should take as authoritative. Following somebody else's interpretations we only take an alibi for assuming our own responsibility. But in fact we are choosing. Salaam

Thats cool, i live in Melbourne. I also have to say that God has the final say, not me. So if in the Quran(the good translations) it says that in some instances the justice department should execute someone than I can't argue. But I think that the Quran would proscribe that only in rare instances were murder/murders or treason has been commited. It is my understanding that those are the only times. There are also people who think that the verses on equality in case of a murder is prescribed means that everyone should be treated the same (equal) before the courts. Anyone think that the Quran doesn't say that or that the death penalty includes other crimes as well? Thanks

Peace I can't remember the page numbers but salat al wusta is once translated as the middle prayer time and once as a balanced salat. So which is it?

My first idea was that the raa in ramadaana can be read with a shaddah (a tajweed prounciation that is not consistently reflected in text). Reading this with a shaddah would automatically imply that shahru was not just shahru in an idaafah construction but rather shahrun with idghaam. This idghaam consisted of the assimilation of the noon into the raa' of ramadaan. Again these specifics are based on the premise that the rules of tajweed are not accurately represented in Quranic texts, and that this was a reading that most recitors did not take because of their traditional reading traditions. Peace This presumption was even unsound. Firstly the "tanween" could not be presumed on the first noun in construct state. Secondly "tanween" could not be presumed because of "single fatha" on Ramzana. You could presume "tanween" and shadda if Ramzan had "Dhumma tanween" whereby you could take it as adjectival phrase.

Here is what my Sunni imam says Music is both haram and halal, depending whether the instrument is made by Arabs or others. If it is a drum, and its skin is especially made of camel's skin then it is Halal. But if it is a guitar, then it is from devil. If you are a male, your voice is halal for both males and females. But, if you are a female, you better keep your voice to other females; otherwise, you will burn in the pit of hell. In the books of fiqh there are many more details on music. Nevertheless, I recommend you Imam al-Gazzali's Ihya ul-Ulum il-Din. After reading that book, you will never sing my brother. You will let the birds do the job for you and others. Instead of singing, why not yelling and screaming like the preachers in the mosques? You will receive a lot of sawab from that. Why cant you be straight forward instead of circular movement with irrelevant observations. There is specific Ayat quoted with its Arabic text which you are not attending, rather avoiding. Why people would come to him in an uncultivated valley, void of availability of "harvest feast" after he pronounces amongst people about the "al hu'j"? And can there be such a big fool who could expect from a sane person's call coming from unpopulated, deserted and uncultivated valley that he is calling for "harvest feast"? Read reply #18.
