I think the big problem is in English, because in English the gender is not mere a gramatical gender but indicates sex, whereas in Arabic, Spanish or French or German and others, the gender is grammatical gender. Justice is neither male or female, but the word justice has a feminine gender, like truth or table or mountain.
Then there is the masculine plural which is said that it includes both males and females. Actually I think that is wrong, it is not the masculine plural, but a mixed plural, which has the same form as the masculine plural. That problem, differently of what happens in English poses a problem in languages like French or Spanish or Arabic, because the defiminisation of society has made woman invisible unless explicitly pointed out. So it offers an easy recource so stretch to include women or reduce to include only men according to what reader or listener expects or wants to hear or read. This determination of whether we are before a masculine plural or a mixed plural is extremely important.
I still think that even if it was made explicit, still human disastrousness would manage to make bias things one way or another. I am thinking of the word "hombre" in Spanish, basically it still means human being, male and female, but its usage along centuries has slipped to mean exclusively male, in spite of there being nd still in use, but overrun by "hombre", the word var?n, which is the proper expresi?n for male.
Where there is a will there is a way, for good and for bad.
I think, arising consciousness about the mental an philosophical traps of language would be good, rather than changing gramar itself. Although I have to say, that to me saying "God himself" is awkward, comes through too sexual. Since English is not my language I think though that it is English ears and tongues the ones to deal with that.
That we can fix the grammar and still not solve anything if the mind is not fixed is shown by the seasonal or periodic renaming of things that we are not restful with. We are permnently trying to improve things we don't like by renaming then. And since that doen't change a thing, fter another while, we rename them again.
