Salaam Samia After so many days ,your could produce some idea that Muhammad BPUH and Ahmad PBUh are names of the same personality. Salaam student Yes, if during those "so many days" I was trying to find out an answer. In fact I once thought about the issue some time ago to no avail, and now I do not bother whether they are the same person or not. I have my previous understanding that they are, and nil new evidence that they definitely aren't, so I stayed with my old understanding. Besides, I do not think that this issue is in any way relevant to the main issue of the thread. I just responded because you asked me.

"Justified War" is not only on "Self Defense".. If there are ruthless / evil ruler oppressing a group of people (e.g. killing them through gas) , making war to topple that ruler and establish peace and justice can be considered "Justified War". I agree with you. Verse 475 And why wouldn't you fight in the cause of God and the vulnerable men, women and children?

Definitely Yes pr Only god knows how many times I almost froze to death having had to have an Ablution/Shower in the middle of winter in some god forsaken hinterland town with the temperature well below zero nope . This was back in the days of my ignorance of the Qur'an and my naivety in following the cursed Tablighi Jama'ah ;D . Now Free from Mental Shirk hail . almarh0m

There is a documentary by the history channel called Who wrote the Bible. I think you can get it at veoh website. Its a good place to get a backgroung. The Old Testament can not be read the way we read the Koran. I have no problem with that. I understand the background of the Old Testament. I am fully aware of these stories including the accusation of David and adultery and murder. I am also aware of the stroy about Lot and incest. But I do not let that prevent me from accepting the Old Testament because I have a good understanding, or rather a basic understanding of the collection of the Old Testament. Its a library and not a scripture like the Koran. It is not just a theology book like the Koran. Its also history, narratives, culture, civilization and poetry. Its unique. The Koran is the literal words that God revealed to Muhamamd via the angel Gabriel and should be read as such. The Koran is a book of theology. Everyword matters from a religious perspectives. If the Old testament is too heavy than you don't have to read it. I think this intro lecture from Yale about the OT is very good in giving a basic understanding of the OT and its compilation and general structure http//video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4487558855309830711&hl=en I like the part she says the Hebrew Bible is not made for children rotfl

How can Jerusalem be unimportant? What about Jesus? And Solomon and David? Isn't Jerusalem the blessed land in the Koran? No. Archaeology in Palestine is bunk. We have to search in Arabia, Babylon, Persia and Egypt for King Solomon. Arabia could be a start. Some say Upper Egypt was Israel which is a fascinating idea. http//www.revver.com/video/109911/preview-of-interview-with-ralph-ellis/ http//www.world-mysteries.com/gw_rellis.htm

The answer is clear There are MANY focal point / meeting place for holding a 'thanks giving event' to God. And it differs among culture!! Explanation Read Al-Hajj (The Festival)67 The arabs had their custom on circling a black stone in the middle of the desert.. Muhammad just changes the 'meanings' of their customs, Muhammad "My dear arab friends; you can continue with your annual custom here, but no more silly idol please.." The jews had a custom of gathering a thanks giving festival in Jerusalem. The Eskimos had their own custom in some place within the arctic.. So does the Indians, the Chinese, the Japanese.. etc.... But, interesting enough; every culture had their own habits of annual festival of thanks giving.. although the time and place might vary.. (and it doesn't really matter much). Salam / Peace

Salaam all The Quran could not change Code 19 But Code 19 could change the Quran by throwing out two verses. Which is superior in status ? -Quran -Or Code 19? But God can change everything.. Thus GOD is more superior than Quran or Code 19. The 'verses' he wrote all over this universe is those that cannot be replicated / duplicated / falsified by anyone.. And anyone had a full rights to believe whatever they want.. based on his observation, knowledge and faith.. Yet Truth stands out clear from Error.. There are signs for those who understands.. And for those who seek, there will be an answer.. Peace / Salam

Bro, we can't take a Classical Arabic dicitionary for a god neither as not everything may be there! Look at this and let us use a little reasoning; 070.030 YUSUFALI Except with their wives and the (captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (then) they are not to be blamed, The translation is faulty, but "whom their right hands posses" are they truly in the palm of your hand or something else? 067.001 YUSUFALI Blessed be He in Whose hands is Dominion; and He over all things hath Power;- Is the dominion in the physical hands of something? or does it merely mean the one who has the ultimate power of the dominion? peace God Bless. Brother Salaam As I told you in my first post. No doubt word "Qata3a " has been used in literal and metaphorical meanings No doubt word "Yad" has been used in literal and metaphorical meaning. But the Phrase "Qa3tul Yad" has never been used in metaphorical meaning in whole arabic literature including standard classical arabic dictionaries. Neither Arabic dictionaries nor "Yousaf Ali " is God (Agreed). Regards

A few points... NB AQ = Al Quran First of all, who says the order of content in AQ MUST be in chronological order? I have often said it would be an interesting study to try and extract a chronological order based on AQ only, just to see what it brings to the table. Secondly, from my studies of AQ so far, what I have frequently noticed is that when I study a topic, it often results in having to cross-reference / study a significant part of AQ, leading to a much wider range of study. The way it is structured almost forces you to study more and more of it. I'm sure many students of AQ have noticed this. Lastly, anyone who thinks there is no structure to AQ, I strongly recommend reading 'Coherence in Quran' by Mustansir Mir. It is a tough read, due to its academic written style, but it is convincing http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=10431.0
