I assumed the limit came from AQ from 43, as I quoted above. If the article you refer to is any decent, I assume it reviews 43 and refutes the understanding of 4 being a limit. If it does not mention 43 then sounds pretty poor to me.

bigmo-Those who have not inherited Divine scriptures. That is my opinion, too -- that ummiyyeen had not previously received a divine book, & this is confirmed by the quraan. -The Koran says that those who said to Muhamamd this is what was sent to Moses had no knowledge of the scriptures. I think its talking about the inventors of the Talmud. From 7157 & 622, v know that the ummiyyeen is not interchangeable with pagan. From 375, it is clear that the people of the book were not ummiyyeen. 278 talks about the ummiyyeen among the jews & christians who only had fancies & no knowledge about the book. 4123 also talks about similar vain fancies. Judaism & christianity had infiltrated the deserts of arabia long before the revelation of the quraan. It is my understanding that the ummiyyeen of 278 are these converts to judaism & christianity who were not recipients of any divine scripture, & not short of fancy & conjecture. ma'a salaam. peace, The specific use of "full moon" is not mentioned in PRL for BDR. It does list "become full/grown/round" however. The listing has now been changed to "become full/grown/round/large (e.g. full moon)". Again, as stated in the PRL homepage it is a work in progress.

But to actually know what is there, we have to be there and personally verify it for ourselves. The problem is you have to be dead to experience it. Lol. There are other ways like doing Out of body, NDE, or just feel the feeling of it. Try to think about heaven in any sacred places that you like. For Muslim i believe Mecca and mosque is the best place. The vibration of heaven is very high there. Billions of Muslims agreed that Mecca is a sacred place. Imagine the energy that it have. In that place just close your eyes and allow the feeling to come. The purer the intent, the easier it is to perceive the signal. It is indeed a lovely and memorable feeling. i wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this is true. sex has become a connection-less act, just to get off. there is nothing wrong with sex within a solid committed relationship. look at the youth, they have become so vulgar...no more playing with cars and barbie. reality tv is filthy. the family will soon become a thing of the past. porn is mentally poisoning us, like a mental illness or something.

I mean why do we need to fear someone we love, and allah who loves us back. Can someone explain what they mean by fear allah the all forgiving? There is no offline version, but you can run it locally. You need some technical knowlege of databases and php to get it working. The version of openburhan that you see at openburhan.com is not hosted by me. The project was opensource and a few people have hosted their versions of openburhan. I still own the domain "openburhan.com" and simply pointed it to a version that seemed like was making good progress. Textinmotion.org is an another version, has a much cleaner look like the orginal used to be, plus you can add your input to it. I am working on a brand new ob - available hopefully next year. So if have any feature requests now is the time to PM them to me. One feature which I will NOT include is "offline" - simply because it is not the way forward (look at google docs) and significantly limits the scope of what a web application can do. smmirza-I fail to understand how you are so sure that Kaaba is God's house and is sacred. Do you have any verses in the Quran that you could share? The kaaba is the bayt as per the quraan (597) From an earlier dialogue between us -Which implies that you believe that the Kaaba is something holy/special/venerated. The kaaba is special/blessed as per the quraan (396) Do u have an alternate translation? Also, from the quraan the bayt can be traced to abraham & ishmael (2127). & v know that the ""standing" of ishmael & muhammad has been rejected by the jews & christians; then, the aversion of the rejectors (397) is along expected lines. ma'a salaam. Salafism is stronger than ever. I cant wait for the emergence of alternative energy so Saudi Arabia will be back to its desert way fighting over a well and not having enough money to build 'evil' mosques throughout the world. And do you think if it wasn't for the rise of fudamentalism we would have a market? In fact many of us would not be here if it wasn't for Salafism and how it made us feel that something ain't right here. So the more it spreads the more salafi burn outs and the more liberals feeling the need to look for alternative explanations. In fact the printing press and the distribution of the hadith material and its availability with people like Ayaan Ali, Wafa Sultan and Robert Spencer is helping Koranism rise. But I think what Sarat said about how the Islamic identity and its intertwining with people's culture is a hard stumbling block is very important for us to consider. It means forget about old people living in rural community who see Islam like its a tribal custom and a national lifestyle. But I enjoyed some of her observation. I can see how each one of us have a different experience depending on the kinds of people we interact with. I am a net guy, I believe the more information is spread around in the net the more it will trickle down to society. But there is one thing I wnat to share. In an interview on TV, former Sudanese de facto leader and Islamist ideologue but now turned reformist, Hassan Al Turabi, said that he found that going directly to the masses with small literature requires a lot of work as people rarely read and are not too easy to change. He said that as a criticism about his Islamist movement. He said that a better way was to right detailed books with lots of information and arguments and insights that intellectuals read and then these intellectuals trickle it down to society. This is something I have been thinking of. Its lucky that most intellectuals are big time internet users. And I think thats how the debate about the Israel Lobby in America burst open, it was through the net as Walt and Mearsheimer also observed. The traditional forced generally are controlling the traditional media outlets such as mosques and recently newspapers and libraries and TV and radio. But I wonder why Turabi said that. Some people say never trust what he says. But I think it was an important observation as he was active from the 50s but like many Islamist he targeted students and used catchy slogans but he seems to think it ruined the Islamist agenda. Some say he ruined it with his hypocrysy and greed.

Peace The dawat-e-islam group is what you're thinking of there. They have 'kafla's in different towns inviting people to be better barelwis. Best form of dawa in my opinion is that of 'by example'. Rather than approaching people, let them approach you because of what they see you doing or how you do things. If you do voluntary work in your local community for example, sweep up the glass in the road on the way to the mosque, those sort of things will get you recognised and people will want to talk to you, at that stage you gently ease your view of thinking into what they're asking. My family are barelwis and slowly, over the last few years they are beginning to see the holes in their beliefs and the shirk is not so rampant. It is still there, but gently. Better that they make the decision themselves than you be a blunt instrument. This is my method, may or may not work for you.
