Peace Mixing??? What do you mean? There is no afternoon prayer. Afternoon in arabic is asr and there is no prayer in asr. Then you say afternoon prayers are a collective of salawat. I don't believe that you yourself believe that. Definite article or not it still is singular genetive. Ask any arabspeaking true arab. Wusta and wasat is the same word but in different forms. Its like seal and sealed. Or a kill and killed. Same ground meaning. Peace hmm..'no prayer in asr...no afternoon prayer...wusta and wasat..same word...go ask an Arab....' ok hspesc

Who accepts the six periods, and how did they get to that value? Also, could you perhaps show further examples how each period relates to what is said in the quran?

You are a monotheist when you decide to serve God, and only God. Thus, you free yourself from any human leaders, be they of the clergymen or of the rulers. You also free yourself from all the wrong ideas these human leaders have put in your mind. Thus, it opens to you the gates of rationality, of seeing the reality as it is really (and not as it pleases the human leaders). The concept of God is not a void concept. Believing in God is tantamount to believing in justice, to believing that the good deeds will be awarded, and bad deeds will be punished. Thus, believing in God entails being a doer of good deeds. That?s with I would disagree with you when you write ?Monotheism doesn't make a person more humanistic and rational?. And I see the Quran as the only unaltered text that can give us an example of real monotheism in theory and practise. That?s why it is useful to study it, to get a clearer picture of what monotheism really is, and to free ourselves from all the wrong concepts and ideas that human have invented to hide the real meaning of monotheism. peace & welcome stani, i pray that we are not creating new sect(s) in this forum. as for me, i don't go with labels like quranism, quranist, quran aloners, etc. i believe in God alone & i try very hard to follow all his commands as embodied in the confirming scripture the quran. how people try to box me into their convenient labels is something that i have to live with & to live by. So if fabricating labels possibly creates new sects, I guess the best term to identify ourselves with can only be found in the Quran itself. Wouldn't it make sense, since the People of the Book (Jews and Christians) are already identified in the Quran? That sounds sensible and you're so right about being "sold" on the Qu'ran. However concerning judging things for ourselves and being sound or not, doesn't it say in the Qu'ran that some things will seem good for us but actually are not and other things we may not like but may be good for us? Salaam Siki Allah has addressed everyones need in this great reading and, as you quoted some things will appear good for us but actually are not and other things we may not like while they are good for us, and that is the main thing; to research and look into the depth of the message and you would find that the Qur'an touches our souls no wonder that people are sold on the Quran. peace

salam couscous. your poll shows you have not read or understood the quran. for this reason i did not vote. you are missing a category. the category that is missing is "dissaproved" or makruh. to paraphrase the quran intoxicants are makruh. alcohol being an intoxicant, alchohol is therefore makruh. intoxicants are not haram, making salat while intoxicated is haram. you have skewed the poll by improper polling methods. any conclusion of you poll will be false. allah is the truth.

Peace to all, I think i misspoke earlier rami, I meant theres the one who misled them ,the samaritan, and the one who built the calf for them, aaron, when the samaritan suggested to the people to build calf to worship aaron tried to dissuade them apparently, that swhy he said oh my people your being tested, so obey and follow me, but when the people decide to build the calf Arron agreed to do it becuase he says he feared that the people would become divided against the command of moses, so he complied, he broke one command in order to follow an order of moses. Kurt Plausible and accepted till someone brings a better understanding.

Deciding upon what is right and wrong is complicated. Usually, though, something with good consequences is good, and something with bad consequences is wrong. If something adds more positivity than negativity in the world, that is usually the right way to go, but you have to take into account people's rights. I take the theory of utilitarianism with the rule that you don't do something to others what you wouldn't do to yourself, to get a general idea of what is right and what is wrong. But I think every action and situation deserves to be examined individually. And the more we know the better decisions we make.

Regarding the Bible today, it is a near complete forgery. The OT was written in Babylon by Ezra and they went to Jesrusalem with this book which appears in Qumran and with us today. These writings are referenced in this verse 541 O messenger, do not be saddened by those who increase in disbelief from among those who said We believe with their mouths while their hearts did not believe. And from among the Jews, there are those who listened to lies*; they listened to people who never came to you**; they distort the words from their context, and they say If you are given this, then take it, but if you are given anything different, then beware!*** And whoever God wants to test, then you will not possess anything for him against God. These are the ones whose hearts God did not want to cleanse; in this world they will have humiliation, and in the Hereafter they will have a great retribution. *Thats the corrupted ''out of context'' Torah. **Because they are in Jerusalem they have the corrupted text we see in Qumran and the King James Bible. ***Deu 42 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. -This verse will keep the Jews from accepting any prophet with a new revelation. Additional proofs that the old testament is not the Torah the Quran talks about is that the Quran quotes the Torah and the OT doesn't contain these quotes. Actually the OT doesn't mention the afterlife AT ALL. This means Moses didn't believe in the afterlife which is absurd according to the Quran. The OT calls all the Kings of Egypt 'pharaoh' which is an incredible heresy on its own. Even the prohibitions of the Torah quoted in the Quran is very different from the ones found in the OT. The Quran never mentions anything about birds which seem to be completely forbidden(see my post at 'halal'meat thread) but in the OT it classifies the birds into Kosher and non-Kosher. The OT allows usury on the gentiles but the Quran declares war on usury and mocks the Jews for devouring interest. The Torah was rationalized and edited in Babylon by Ezra and all of the incredible miracles of the Jewish prophets eg Solomon, the concept of the seven heavens and the afterlife only survives in the memory of the jewish traditions. The OT says that the magicians of Moses created REAL snakes which is said in the Quran to be just an optical trick. As regard the NT, this has no resemblance whatsoever to the Injeel of the Quran. It is a story of a Buddha like character who was stuck between secular Rome and the Babylonian Jews and the poor fellow ended with the cross! Then the Romans with Titus killed the jews and destroyed the temple in Jeruslaem and never to be rebuilt again. It seems God of Israel doesn't give a damn for this false temple. The poor jews are still waiting for the Messiah!! He left them for 2400 years from Malachi and didn't bother to send a prophet to them. This is simply because the Bible is a forgery and the real Torah and Evangel were with the Arabs. And God's temple is in Arabia. What happened in 66 AD was a serious punishment by God through Titus on the Jews for not listening to Jesus and returning with him to the holy land in Arabia. They went to Arabia by FORCE.
