Now at last we will discuss the 43?.?aw ma malakat aymanukum? lit or what your right hands possessed, The writer of article says ?ma malakat aymanukum? (MMA) can be found in the Quran to refer to different groups of people and women in different situations. The context is very important; this is not referring to slaves or captives. please read the following Ayat Those among you who cannot afford to marry free believing women, may marry believing slave women. GOD knows best about your belief, and you are equal to one another, as far as belief is concerned. You shall obtain permission from their guardians before you marry them, and pay them their due dowry equitably. They shall maintain moral behavior, by not committing adultery, or having secret lovers. Once they are freed through marriage, if they commit adultery, their punishment shall be half of that for the free women. Marrying a slave shall be a last resort for those unable to wait. To be patient is better for you. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful. and now read the verse And if ye fear that ye will not deal fairly by the orphans, marry of the women, who seem good to you, two or three or four; and if ye fear that ye cannot do justice then one or that your right hands possess. Thus it is more likely that ye will not do injustice. We know through the previous ayat that rights of slave women are half of that of a free women. So if not sure that we can be just then one wife is enough and in addition to that Free wife the slave women who can take care of the Orphans. Why Allah makes a difference between a Slave women and free women, why allows men to have many slave women at a time in addition to wife? These are questions which keep on hammering my mind since long time. We are in process of understanding but one thing is for sure I never want to change Quran according to my own wishes. Weather I like slavery or not, weather i like polygyny or not.

We will not go down (Song for Gaza) Let our prayers rise through the haze as one insha'Allah And let's sing with them, our hearts as one insha'Allah The Palestinians will not go down In the night, without a fight You can burn up their mosques and their homes and their schools But their spirit will never die They will not go down In the night, without a fight insha'Allah

Peace, yalnizim- thanks for the reply. I agree. farida- Thanks for the reply but who do you think these people are ? the Romans? the Babylonians? and why God is using them to punish the Israelites if they themselves reject God. Shouldn't God punish these guys as well? Peace, Rami Salaam If memory serves the Israelites were not ?high and mighty? at the time of the Babylonian conquest; I seem to recall 2, mutually hostile, states at the time, Judaea in the south and Israel in the north, which would have been why they were easily conquered by the Babylonians. It may be debated whether or not they were mighty during the Romans but the rebellion was quite successful initially and I tend to believe that the Romans are the ones implied. Allah is certain to punish any sinful people but in the meantime he may use them as tools against other peoples, who need to be taught a lesson. Muslims after they fell from grace and their Empires with them have been replaced by Catholics and other pagans that hardly qualify as pious Monotheists. Eventually, when the time is ripe, they will be replaced by the true believers of what ever ?religion?, who will have earned Allah?s favour. peace

But if we shouldn't go to any sources outside of the Qur'an for guidance, then how do you explain the fact that many "Qur'an only" people on this forum disagree regarding major topics in the Qur'an? I still see so much dispute on this forum on what Salah actually is, whether it is prayer or something else, and if it's prayer whether it is 5 prayers or 3 prayers, etc. I see dispute on the issue of ablution, ghusl, what jinn actually are, and so on and so forth. Why is there so much disagreement if everything is clear? Can someone answer this for me please? Peace, Respectfully. My dear friend, you must understand this we are all humans (same) and different (have different views) because we all have independent minds and we must therefore think on our own, i can't follow other human beings just because they tell me they are right. I must do my own research, i must investigate on my own and i must think for myself. Imagine if all detectives at the same police station followed one detective just because he is the oldest or has more money then anyone else or whatever. Every detective is given a case and each detective must find the criminal. Special Agent Fox Mulder must find the bad guys independently from special agent Dana Scully, even though they actually work together. Peace.

Bro Edip, Have you contact these folks? True Torah Jews Against Zionism http//www.jewsagainstzionism.com/ Nerturei Karta - Orthodox Jews Against Zionism http//www.nkusa.org/ Woe to those who devise wickedness and work evil upon their beds! When the morning dawns, they perform it, because it is in the power of their hand. They covet fields, and seize them; and houses, and take them away; they oppress a man and his house, a man and his inheritance. Therefore thus said YHVH Behold, against this people I am devising disaster, from which you cannot remove your necks; nor shall you walk haughtily, for it will be a time of calamity. Micah 21-3

Just wonder how some of you who vehemently oppose intercession, especially of the dead, can answer these Verses 2.248 And (further) their Prophet said to them "A Sign of his authority is that there shall come to you the Ark of the covenant, with (an assurance) therein of security from your Lord, and the relics left by the family of Moses and the family of Aaron, carried by angels. In this is a symbol for you if ye indeed have faith." 12-93. "Go with this my shirt, and cast it over the face of my father he will come to see (clearly). Then come ye (here) to me together with all your family." ??????????

To give us a headstart. Pigs are omnivores, no? Yes. Do you imply that pig is not part of the livestock? Very possible. But again the phrase 'made lawful to you' is a very bizarre statement if everything is allowed by default.

5 82 Certainly you will find the strongest in enmity for the mumins are the Jews and those who are polytheists. And you will certainly find the nearest in friendship to the mumins are those who say We are Christians. This is because there are priests and monks among them and because they do not behave proudly. From this do we understand that By name we cannot be mumins; by saying shahada we are not mumins; by going to mosque we are not; by reciting quran in prayers we are not. In the same way by name one cannot be christian and so on. A true christian and a true mumin can alone be nearest in friendship. Come out of the clutches of the priests, poojaris, imams and mullahs and become humans by staying out of the mosques, churches and temples; then Allah will like you. Quran is a guide for the life out side of the mosque; so stay clear of these places of worship; and such are the people Allah says true mumins and true christians. When it comes to jews hardly they have such capacity to understand this concept nor there is willingness to follow this peace; and with regard to the polytheists they are hard liners already. 5 82 Verily you will find the Jews and the associaters the worst enemies to the truthful; yet, you will find those who say, ?We are true Christians!? ? the dearest to the truthful; for among them are the people wise and pure; yet they are not proud

Hello, I'm new to this web-site and i wasn't very sure on what Islam is. I have heard two things, Islam is either a city, or a religeon. One of my friends said that Islam was inside Isreal, and are no match for the sheer AWESOMENESS of the Jews... I have also heard that they were a form of Judaism, but DEFINENTALLY less important... I think that the Jews should kick the muslims out of their religeon, or out of their contry.... From what i have heard islam SUCKS EGGS!!!!! Please help me understand the true meaning of the word Islam, and what it is..... THANKS A LOT! voodoo That was ISLAM.... (the doll being stabbed!!!!!) Islam according to the English dictionary is one thing, according to the original arabic... something totally different. Would one like to refer to the arabic or the English?

"The NT writings did not become canonical because they were believed to be uniquely inspired; rather, they were judged to be inspired because they had previously commended themselves to the church for other, more particular and practical reasons." Interesting.

These kind of things make me nervous. I am aware that some Koranist see themselves as reformist and might want to get involved. But this involvement can not be just for "Muslims". That label scares me sometimes as it signals a dissident move against Sunnism rather than a movement for mankind. I guess my experience with Ahmed Subhi Mansour and his organization makes me very suspicious of reform movement because it is always only concerned with 'Muslims". I believe the Koran is a message for mankind and its our duty to reform Muslims but also Jews, Christians, Hindus and atheist by propagating the Koran and its message. I want to be honest. What I fear most is that many Koranist will find it is easier to influence "Muslims" since they already accept the authority of the Koran and then try to use that influence to gain recognition among the masses. We saw some of that with Rashad Khalifa. We need to make sure that we clearly define what is meant by Muslims and who are the target audience we are trying to influence. The Koran has a universal message and we should target Americans as a whole. I don't live there but I think thats what being a Koranist should be about. I still believe its a good idea but we must fight sectarianism by universalism and not create a dissident movement in the Sunni world and get support from feminist and secular forces within the Muslim world simply because eleminating hadith makes their problem easier. Having said that Edip is a respected Koranist and has been one of its biggest activist so i would support whatever he does.

What does this verse has to do with our discussion? You are talking nonsense. I want you to make a new thread and see how others will react. This won't be pretty. I have read your posts. Your bizarre conclusions are not exclusive to this thread I guess. Its not bizarre its just taking the verses as implying a more hidden meaning than the outer meaning. There are verses like that, the problem is when you interpret all the Koran that way and refuse to accept any other interpretation.
  • Are there muslim sources for deciphering the Sumerian tablets?

Salaam, I have been reading a book by Zacharia Sitchin about the Sumerians and their history. Apparently there are actual stone tablets describing many things to do with the history of mankind, the 'Anunnaki', even stories that are along the same lines as the old testament ie, the flood. I want to know if there has been real authentication to these tablets and who has them now? Who is studying them? Is there anything in the Qu'ran about the Anunnaki, who were an group of beings of a higher intelligence and who changed our DNA to speed up our evolution process. And who gave mankind information about science, astrology and math. If it is true, is it possible to accept this possibility but yet realize that God sent messengers to set the record straight about who he is and that worshipping these other 'Anunnaki' (who would be deemed as gods in their time) is false. Apparently these Annunaki came to enslave us and demanded worship and sacrifice. Did God set us straight so we could be free from them, realizing almighty God's ultimate power?? They are Thousands of Annunakis on earth as gods and demigods throughout the third world countries, mainly in indian subcontinent and eastern countries. And as for the intelligence the very first man was taught the wisdom of everything in the heavens and in the earth and everything in between. And then the prophet Ibrahim who scanned the heavens and the earth to realize who God is, much before he was transformed as the Prophet. Before the Signs of Allah, the maths, science, geography, astrology and human sources of material knowledge are mere dummies. The histories are mostly 'his-stories'. I have so many questions about this issue, I like to dig deep into history and find sources of culture, religious practice and traditions. If there is a real truth to these tablets, I want to follow the best sources. Can anyone advise me where to search? The Qu'ran? Well educated scholars? Books? Reflecting upon the ayats of Quran in the name of The Knower, The Wise, shall surely pave the way for realizing the thought for the light of the future and liveliness in life. By the way, all of this ancient history lies in the middle east, wouldn't it be a huge part of Islamic and/or Arabic knowledge? In my opinion there is no nothing like islamic or arabic knowledge; if there is something for the mankind from God it is the invisible wisdom, from which the form of knowledge is yet to take shape for creating the material things. Or is it all being brushed under the rug? Zacharia Sitchin seems to have really dug it up and apparently he's an esteemed scholar in the feild, and he's German. I believe in learning correct history and I don't want to be strung along by biased opinions. If anything I might just go and study myself as much as I can. Have a great day and thanks if you can help handshake handshake .

The self delusion that plagues both sides in this bloody conflict Robert Fisk ? Independent.co.uk December 31, 2008 "They waste bullets. They fire all these bullets into the sky. They should use them to shoot at Israelis." His point, of course, was that Hamas lacked discipline, the kind of iron, ruthless discipline Hamas ? like all the other Palestinian outfits ? is infected with spies, some working for the Palestinian Authority, others for the Israelis. One common feature of Middle East wars is the ability of all the antagonists to suffer from massive self-delusion. crossed the border, they were faced down by the Hizbollah. In some cases, Israeli soldiers actually ran back to their own frontier. These are realities. The chances of war, however, may be less easier to calculate. If Israel indefinitely continues its billion dollar blitz on Gaza ? and we all know who is paying for that ? there will, at some stage, be an individual massacre; a school will be hit, a hospital or a pre-natal clinic or just an apartment packed with civilians. In other words, another Qana. At which point, a familiar story will be told; that Hamas destroyed the school/hospital/pre-natal clinic, that the journalists who report on the slaughter are anti-Semitic, that Israel is under threat, etc. And Hamas ? which never had the courage to admit it killed two Palestinian girls with one of its own rockets last week ? will cynically make profit from the grief with announcements of war crimes and "genocide". At which point, the deeply despised and lame old UN donkey will be clip-clopped onto the scene to rescue the Israeli army and Hamas from this disgusting little war. Of course, saner minds may call all this off before the inevitable disaster. But I doubt it Dear brothers, Could any one clarify as to the reasons why 'the reality' described by the author is allowed by the Almighty God. A good part of the reason is very much evident from the article paraphrased above as quote. To me what comes to my mind is 4 147 What can Allah gain by your punishment, if ye are grateful and ye believe? Nay, it is Allah that recognizes, and Knows all things. 7 165 When they disregarded the warnings that had been given them, We rescued those who forbade Evil; but We visited the wrong-doers with a grievous punishment because they were given to transgression. 7 167 Behold! thy Lord did declare that He would send against them, to the Day of Judgment, those who would afflict them with grievous penalty. Thy Lord is quick in retribution, but He is also Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. We only are willing to earn the sympathy of the people which is not at all our need to liberate the home from the oppressors and occupiers. We want the sympathy and forgiveness of Allah to be free from branded as 'the guilty' by the United Notorious (UN) ganged up by the criminal world infested by the leeches. Allah has not allowed victory for us until this day, why? We are not yet muslims but we claim ourselves muslims thus advancing before Allah's Leave 49 1. Let us seek with forgiveness from Allah be prayerful in the depth of hearts all the time as " O God! Make us Muslims!" Palestine massacre may be an eye opener for the rest of the claimants adjudging themselves 'as muslims'. We have to fear Allah for without His Leave no event takes place either in the heavens or in the earth or amongst you. Going by this we come to the conclusion that Allah has no forgiveness for those who call themselves muslims when they are actually not. If we are muslims we will not be in splinter groups but united One. Then The One would have come to our help and rendered us a Victory never to be forgotten by the infidels ever. The good samaritans, The Muslims would have inherited the world by now. 'Muslims' seek friendship and hold friendship with those who are Allah's enemies e.g Saudi Arabia, much against Allah's warnings 58 14 Have you not seen those who befriend a people with whom Allah is wroth? They are neither of you nor of them, and they swear falsely while they know. 58 15 Allah has prepared for them a severe Penalty evil indeed are their deeds. If only the rest of the so called muslim nations such as Iran and Pakistan stopped calling themselves 'muslims' when they are not. 68 35 - 40 Shall We then treat 'the muslims' like the Guilty? What is the matter with you? How do you judge? Or have you a book wherein you read? That you have surely therein what you choose? Or have you received from Us an agreement confirmed by an oath extending to the day of resurrection that you shall surely have what you demand? Ask them which of them will vouch for that? O God, save amongst us who you wish to save and show us the straight path; the path of those who you favoured; and not that of those on who were your wrath and who you have allowed to go astray. Salaams brothers and sisters.

I voted other. The group of people who are most merciful, kind, and accepting of me happen to be my immediate family members. Maybe this falls under the category of "people who you know rather then don't know"? Even though the town I live in has its share of people with prejudices, I haven't yet found myself in situations where my individuality has been accepted based soley on ethnic background, skin colour, or religion.
