Peace be upon you, Excellent Tay! Excellent! And it goes with what I was going to answer, The God is above good and bad, the highest possible attribute that I can see is that of Peace. As Tay said, if you sit back and watch this "machine" at work, it is an amazing Peace, it is only that most are not humbled into submission and think themselves to be seperate from this system. We are told that we are the God's and to Him we return. Well, where do we return? To Peace. That is how the desire we greet each other with, and that is the greeting at the garden. PEACE! Peace sister Shamsu, I agree. The Arabic word "din" doesn't mean religion. It means "obligation". The closest word in the great reading to the concept of religion or creed is "millat". All "millat"/religions are man made. The only good "millat" is that of the monotheist/"hanif" and even that is man-made because it is called the "millat" of Ibrahim and not the "millat" of Allah. However, Ibrahim was a good example and his "millat"/religion consists simply of the fact that submission/obedience/"islam" to The God is the only obligation/"din". Hence, everybody should follow Ibrahim's "millat"/religion. Peace and all best wishes, Ayman.

Peace be upon you Darcus, My understanding is that "Isa, son of Mariam" is just a story, it was a story given before but the people took it literal instead of symbolic, that is why the God says in This reading(quran) that "a similitude was shown to them". They did not kill nor crucify Isa because you cant kill or crucify a WORD. Isa symbolizes the Word. That is my understanding.

What war do you associate it with? Someone that you have no clue about? If war happens, the answer is there for us. What is so difficult about that? If the God is talking directly to some man named "ahmad/muhammad", then why doesn't He address the man by name? Why does he speak of the "messenger" in third person? Why doesn't he say "the spoils are for Me and You"? These are all very valid questions. Have you considered them? Can you answer them? 91 Freedom of obligation from allah and his messenger ............ So what treaty have you or anyone else here made,with allah,with the mushreqeen?And did Allah speak to you whan you both made the treaty with the said mushreqeen? Where you witness to the event when "ahmad/muhammad" made a treaty with the God? How does it make sense to you for a man you have never met, but you cannot reason the very same idea for today, for yourself? I can,t understand why you can't see what i am trying to open to you idolfree. All these ayats arn't about anyone but the messenger who god chose about 1400 years past. You have yet to prove that, further, what evidence besides the words of this book would you have to back this up? We are not here to accept a blind faith, we are here to recieve guidance. Do we only follow a portion of the book, or the whole book? If you do anything and everything it doesn't mean a thing -Allah may choose you or he may not that is up to him.You or anyone else for that matter musn't assume if you do certain things Allah will choose you for a messengership,it doesn't work like that If you think it does Show us where it says so I can not understand how the law of cause and effect escapes you. (20114). 7517 Behold, it is up to Us to gather it (in your heart) and the reading of it. (He will bless whatever effort we put into learning it). 7518 Thus, when We read it, follow you the reading. (Allah has revealed the Qur?an, and bestowed upon us the faculty of understanding, hence, ?When We read it.?) 7519 Then, behold! It is for Us to explain it. (The Qur?an is its own best commentary. It explains itself). From these verses I understand others meaning of the word "alquran" compilation, explication. It speaks the truth and contains no contradictions. ANY message that does the same is also described as "quran". Do you have quranic arguments to support your assertion or this is just your interpretation? Yes. (482) So do they not consider the reading, and if (it) were from at other than the God, they would have found in it many contradictions. 482 speaks about "alquran" which is sent in the month of ramadan. So the "challenge" is to provide a chapter, or verse, that is NOT truthful, but can guide the same way the TRUTH guides. Surely NO ONE can do that Or do they say he invented it? Say ?Then bring a chapter like it, and call upon whoever you can besides God if you are truthful!? To bring a chapter like it in the content (Truth, signs, the news of unknown...) and the form. I must then ask you the question you asked me above, Do you have "quranic" arguments to support your assertion or this is just your interpretation? Allah does not specify like it in which aspect? Do not be swayed by pity from carrying out GOD's law, if you truly believe in GOD and the Last Day. And let a group of believers witness their penalty. Yusuf Ali The woman and the man guilty of adultery or fornication,- flog each of them with a hundred stripes Let not compassion move you in their case, in a matter prescribed by God, if ye believe in God and the Last Day and let a party of the Believers witness their punishment. Pickthal The adulterer and the adulteress, scourge ye each one of them (with) a hundred stripes. And let not pity for the twain withhold you from obedience to Allah, if ye believe in Allah and the Last Day. And let a party of believers witness their punishment. Shakir (As for) the fornicatress and the fornicator, flog each of them, (giving) a hundred stripes, and let not pity for them detain you in the matter of obedience to Allah, if you believe in Allah and the last day, and let a party of believers witness their chastisement. Peace be upon you, It is hard to give up what you have thought was true for so long. Just remember to be patient with your friend. That is very important. Continue to show him/her the signs that we can find all throughout the universe that proves the truth. Also, show him/her ALL of the verses that contain the word "hadith" in the reading(quran), especially the one that asks "which hadith after this will they follow?"

This is my last post to this listserve. After this post I am forever done. I see no point here. These debates will go on and on forever and logic will not be heard. With that said, "Ayman, I am not using the message to justify my points I was using the evidence that the book points out.' I really don't think you will understand this and so have no real reason to futher discuss it. All I can say is thutat if what I have said concerns you in some way you look over what I said again and think about where you may be wrong. I am not using the ideas or beliefs that the Koran states but the contextual evidence that it gives of what was going on at that time to prove my point.
