Hi, I am a soldier stationed at FT. Hood. I accepted submission to God after I read the Quran. While that may seem strange to some, it is real. I read the Quran after I realized that I had been deployed to countries with majority Islamic populations and yet knew nothing about Islam. I used to deride and hate Muslims but after reading the Quran I know the truth. I believe that it was God which spurred this desire to read the Quran. Also, a long time ago I was once a Christian and many of my future posts will probably reflect my upbringing. As the Quran tells us, I believe in the earlier scriptures as well and so I hope to bring engaging and useful questions or comments before fellow believers. I know that I do not know everything and so do not be afraid to reply to anything which I post. Thank You welcome

Don't feel bad about the responses. When you bring up something like LGBT in a religious group you are going to spark discussion for better or worse. I think the telling thing for me was realizing, not only through my own experience but through knowing others, that the nature of the majority of gay and lesbian relationships I have seen have been in stark contrast to what is implied and communicated via the story of Lot. On one hand I have my friends searching desperately for the same thing I am love and companionship, and on the other I have a story about a city that sounds like it had, frankly, gone insane with evil and lawlessness. The natures do not seem to align in my mind. Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. sun

Peace So hold fast to all that has been revealed to thee for, behold, thou art on a straight way; (4344) As you see God never mentions to hold fast to haddits. ART THOU NOT aware that it is God whose limitless glory all that are in the heavens and on earth extol, even the birds as they spread out their wings?62 Each knows indeed how to pray unto Him and to glorify Him; and God has full knowledge of all that they do (2442) for, God's is the dominion over the heavens and the earth, and with God is all journeys' end. 2443 My belief is that every person(or maybe every community) will have his/her own way regarding prayer. As long as only the Glorious name of our lord is glorified, and no other name is mentioned besides His, I believe the person praying is not sinning. I am not of the idea that is okay to mention prophets, or even your own parents, during a prayer that is meant to glorify and exalt the name of our God the Most Merciful. I personally like Mohamed Asad translation of the Holy Qur'an is very reasonable, and the Monotheist translation is fair too. But, I don't like those from saudi arabia because they put too much stuff from hadiths and traditions into the translation. Salam, This is very true, God will guide us to his path and his path alone, Insh'Allah. I'm also not comfortable adding any other names besides God during my prayers, but this goes from a person to person consensus, I will not judge anybody who does so. I don't think I've read Mohammad Asad's translation, I'll have to check it out, thanks for your input. May Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon You peace

Salaam one and only, Welcome to the forum. This place is a treasury for any Truthseeker. Dr. Khalifa was the first source of information I encountered when I realized something was wrong with the practices of Islam, and he immediately had me convinced and what he tried to say was right and that traditional Islam is distorted beyond recognition. I was also convinced about code 19. However, I never accepted everything Dr. Khalifa had been trying to teach and I continued to study independently, read Quran, tried to learn some basic Arabic, found alternative sources of information on the Web, discovered this website, and now this is where I am now. Without intention to brag, I feel I am most certainly blessed and despite hardship in my life, I am sturdy as an old steam locomotive. I will not tell more in detail here, there is much to it, but I am glad God is providing me with guidance and it feels like He is keeping me near. I get closer to the Truth every day and that is what I wish everyone else too. Directly or through His devout servants (=fm members and others), that is from where I gain my knowledge. And God communicates through inspiration, giving me "aha" sensations pretty much every day. My brother, you are also most likely blessed being guided by the Lord to this website and to discover Dr. Khalifa, the human Beacon. It was pleasant to read your story and I am happy to read what the Lord is doing for you, just do not start taking things for granted, as a friendly piece of advice and thank Him every day. And remember the tides may change and you are exposed to new trials again through various means. Finally, I would like to say, keep yourself unlocked, I mean, do listen and try to understand everything people have to say, even if you do not agree with it. Think about things you do not agree with and they may still learn a thing or two even if you do not agree fully. Sorry if it appears I am trying to teach you how to live, I feel perhaps too caring about the well-being of others. I just wanted to say hello really, and now it comes to this. At least you know something about me. Hello! God bless you Salam Man of Faith. First of all, thank you for your kind words which I know are so much valuable for me. I really feel I have been blessed by our Only creator to hvae been guided to know the truth so far. I never taken it for granted but always thank Allah and still do not feel enough. I agree with your sentence that this place is like a treasury for the truth seeker. with so many wide variety of knowledge and opinions of different personalities, this place is amazing to learn so many new things every single day. I am open to any advise whether I will apply it to my life or not. I am pretty sure, I can decide either it is good or bad for me by using Quranic reference or my intellect which both are provided by Allah. I am also sure that I will learn something out of each information passed to me and will highly appreciate them. I will insaallah be in touch and will read the most of the articles I can in this forum. May Allah guide us to the right path always! Peace

Salaam, God truly bestows His mercy upon various people as He pleases. I was myself pretty much astray in my past, but God blessed me and guided me. I also had "supernatural" things happening to me. Anyway, welcome to the forum of weird people, and some boring sane people. God bless you

Hi Bigmo & Dunner I like your analogy of each post being my own khutbah! I will surely take time to discuss online for it is much safer than having to discuss religiosity with my family I get a lot of tongue lashing when my parents found out I was interacting with my friend's Golden Retriever and if they see me praying with my arms unfolded. Dunner, It's good to know that I'll have someone to speak to when I'm there in the near future, my display pic was taken up in dunedin botanic gardens last December ) beautiful place do check it out. Where were you originally from if you weren't already from New Zealand? ) Peace, Nazerul (
