Peace Man of Faith, One thing I should have said earlier is that I do not believe Paganism is a cult. I know some may view things in this way, but it's a religion/a grouping of similar religions. Or we could just call it spirituality, I think cult has too much of a pejorative meaning. The idea of karma can also differ and some beleve in the threefold law, that whatever one does comes back to them by the power of three. Although, many may not believe in that but just a general idea of karma in Wicca. I would agree, that karma as a concept can relate to the idea of ultimate justice in the Quran. Since karma occurs over lifetimes - at least that's the idea I came across, there could be different ideas out there as well - then it differs in that way from the Quran. In terms of justice in the Quran, as things are not served out in this life total justice will occur in the Hereafter. So some people experience bad in this life - then Messengers and believers did, but I would say it is wrong to say whether this is a punishment, as it can be a lesson in general. All good comes from Allah swt but even those real evil in the world today, serious corruption and so on can appear to have some 'good' but in the Quran it also says for such people who are like that, it can also be a test. I would agree though, there is an overlap of ideas here.

I also need to look into these terms as they are used in the Quran - the term muslim may be used in relation to Abraham in some way, so that could define the term a bit more. In terms of hypocrites, I'm not sure if deep down they know what to do but they ignore it because they prefer to do things other than God's way deliberately or because they simply don't care about what they do and use the name they were born into. Like when hypocrities who are essentially following 'Quran only' are referred to as corrupters or when they follow hadith. The term kafir though, that seems to have more complexity. It seems to be one who rejects and then acts upon that rejection to create havoc, Iblis is one such example. Nice discussion here though and it was good to look back on this thread in general.

Peace Open Minded. welcome to this forum. I have no Christian background so I cannot answer your questions, but I suggest just buy or download Quran translation and reading it, keep praying to Allah so one day you will have the answers by God.

Peace Kristina, If you study Quran really hard you will discover that it actually tells you not to follow such teachings. God's religion is not filled with complicated rituals or restrictions. If someone forbids what God has not outright forbidden then it is disobedience. Also there is ironically hadith which tells Muhammad told that nothing should be written down from him except Quran. This hadith goes in line with the Quranic warnings too. I see that you may be in deep trouble being married to a traditional Muslim when having your eyes opened by God. I am somewhat in the same situation with my wife. I do not want my wife to teach my son to praise Muhammad as Christians praise Jesus. Hello, I understand your father and his reaction is very normal. At least I can give you a good advice Keep away from Islam and stick with Qur'an. In Quran, God doesn't offer us so-called religions such as Islam. Only way is surrendering to God. It very simple and easy.

Peace, I doubt Muhammad ever added his name of the shahada. It is probably a later invention. If it was not it is an intensifier not needed today 1400 years later. God bless you

Peace, Welcome to the forum. Hope you will enjoy your stay. I have submitted to God's system, islam, which is not new but existed for thousands of years. You need to know that life is a test and God may not show up much in terms of signs until later. You need patience and steadfastness to continue to worship the "unseen". In time God will show Himself to you, I am sure of that. Not necessarily physically, but in terms of signs. You need to stay sharp so you can perceive them. I was not always a good muslim, but praise to God I am better than I used to be now. In the beginning, until a few years ago I was believing in God, monotheism, without particularly righteous living. God, forever in debt to Him, always blessed me despite my life in ignorance and finally He opened my eyes and I started respecting God in terms of deeds too. Now I have received an abundant amount of blessings from God and it seems to continue, so it is true that if you choose to follow Him, even if it is just believing in Him and no fancy extras, He will surely reward you. But one will never reach the "utopia" without the good deeds and deeper devotion and that is why it was only after I turned more reverent those few years ago God seriously started to excel His blessings upon me. Therefore, I recommend you to become reverent and thankful for what God bestows upon you. Every little thing God blesses you with you shall praise Him for, even if it is as fundamental as a meal for the day. Never think anything is due to your own cleverness as everything good comes from God one way or another. Regard every human being as God's creation and that life is sacred so even observe and have respect for your enemy. Not necessarily love him but respect him and always remember he may change and that it is a living soul in each person, good or evil. If you certainty has entered your heart it should not be so difficult to submit and you seem to know the Truth already so you have all chances. If Faith has not yet entered your heart, remain a muslim (peacemaker) and do good deeds and your heart will sooner or later be ascertained through God's blessings, and that he may reward you with Knowledge and Wisdom. I do not find the arguments too bad in what you posted mohf. Why would God make it complicated to understand which times of the day one is expected to observe prayers? I find the arguments very weak. All he does is just invents some (obviously incorrect) imaginary statements, aslike they come from the traditionalists, just so that he can destroy them easily without any effort. 2- God forgot to mention the other two names of salat! This option is also false, God does not forget BS. No serious muslim would ever believe such non sense. 3- God did not mention the names of the other 2 salat because they are not important. Again, an imaginary statement. Find me any traditionalist who believes this. 4- God did not mention the names of the other 2 prayers because God wants us to guess them! Wtf? 7- God does not mention the names of the other 2 prayers, because there are no other 2 prayers according to the law of the Quran. The genuine believers who believe that the Quran contains all the details, with no ifs or buts, will not accept any option other than option 7. I do not believe in an afternoon prayer. On the other hand, I do believe there is an voluntary night prayer. So am I not a "genuine believer who believe that the Quran contains all the details" ? It's aslike a fully biased, subjective kid with a tunnel vision wrote the article who thinks everything he knows is the absolute truth. But I am still wondering about the Truth despite this. At some occasions I have got the feeling that there is no fixed amount of prayers and we should pray as often as possible and just like giving charity it is about showing how open hearts we have. Why God mentions dawn and night prayer may be because it is given that one would pray as soon as he wakes up in the morning and when he is about to go to sleep. The 'wusta' prayer could be a hint to something about observing prayers in the middle of the day (although al-salat al-wusta is singular as far as I understand). I do not think wusta is an additional prayer. As to why 2238 is using salawat in plural for 3 or more prayers, it is because there are in my understanding atleast two obligatory prayers (fajr + isha) and an voluntary night prayer which is often overlooked 1778-79 Rise for salat from "duluk a-shams" till "ghasaq al-layl" and the recitation of dawn. Indeed, the recitation of dawn is witnessed. And from the night, fatahajjad" with it an additional for you; it may be hat your Lord will resurrect you to a praised station. So there is no contradiction/issue in 2238 at all when it says salawat in plural of 3 or more prayers. The argument often used that it can also refer to all salat in one's lifetime is silly; if it is true, then our prayers should also be performed at al fajr of our life time and isha of our life... which obviously no one would accept. I am still using the stone age practice of prostration to God, it is an old way of showing utter respect for someone and not invented for religion primarily, that is a misconception. But if to kneel suffices or any other way to glorify God, then go ahead and do it. Everyone his way. I do not see any problem at all which way one prays, aslong as it does not contradict the Quran and it fulfills the goals mentioned.
