By the way, I agree that by no means should we change any text in the Quran to fit the 19 counts. But despite this is the Quran, in my opinion, filled with hints of 19 stuff. You may mean change Quran as removing the last two verses of sura 9? I am a bit divided on that one actually. I believe in code 19, but I am not sure of that purging. I had been thinking about becoming a Muslim for years. I never did and explored other religions until I came back to Islam and converted.

The thing is I actually love hadith, as long as they are not written but kept as oral tradition and not followed like the revealed text. For example, I just learned yesterday that Abu Bakr sold his orchard before he died and willed it to the Muslim treasury. Why? to repay the money he took as salary while he was in office. This inspires me, to hear examples of the high character of the Prophet and his companions, but everything on a balanced scale. I hate when a jumua khutba is nothing more than a string of ahadith with no ayat. I do not believe in the coming of anyone except what the Qoran teaches . Qoran does not teach the coming of a Mehdi or Messiah...etc. peace, good logic. alhamdu lillah! I misunderstood your embreo analogy. While Irving provides a useful introduction to the Qur'an, its language, and previous translation history, his own translation is fundamentally flawed. While seeking to stick to linguistic accuracy, Irving makes some basic linguistic errors. I am obligated to say I think this is an unfair criticism. Every translation has its good and bad points, because no translation can be perfect, but to claim "fundamentally flawed" is too harsh, and I hope this reviewer is forgiven for putting such condemnation on a great work by a great muslim. The error he cites is pathetically minor and actually well within the limits of interpretation. Those on this forum should love that Dr. Irving is primarily a linguist and not a hadith scholar, so his perspective is not as biased by previous tafsir.

I love astronomy and I could swear when I had read some verse in Quran a long time ago about Allah (swt) haveing creating the universe and bond them with things that we can not see and I read that when I was a child then recently when I learned about dark matter, I was looking for that verse so I started searching and this site came up.

I am in middle of end I have had only one id all time i have been here and my real name but Eid Abdullah which claims has PHD in Math has changed his id many times like Noon de Plume,Holiday, and his last post is Noon waalqalami I have stopped discussing with him about code 19 unless he can produce a table like table 23 by Rashad without computer using for calculation. hmm, interesting point. the Quran calls for unity based upon the adoration and trust of God / Allah alone- even across religious lines, certainly across any ethnic or national lines. the path of God is described as submission to God, remembrance of God, conciousness of God throughout the day, gratitude, righteousness.... i am making a small list of passags that describe very beautifully this deen, i may begin a new thread later. salam ~ hanifa bravo Well done.
