we humans have extracted the five major points of the Qur'an, however they pillars themselves are not inventions of humans because each pillar is from the Qur'an. Personally i don't see anything wrong with summarising the major points. i don't agree totally. let's take fasting for instance - especially given it is the month of ramadan. yes, it is from the koran. search fasting and see how many verses you will find in the koran addressing fasting? God simply states fasting is enjoined as it was before and for what purpose. if it is too difficult then, you feed the needy. so is fasting really a major point or is being a righteous person? the major point/theme is to believe in God, the last Day and to be a good person, doing good deeds, living a moral life. over and over again this is what God says in the koran. Sura 262 "surely those who believe, and those wo are Jews, and the Nazarenes, and the Sabians, whoever believes in God and the Last day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord, and there is no fear upon them, nor shall they grieve. fasting is merely a means of achieving the goal.

Shalom Aleikhem, welcome to free-minds ) I hope you have a nice time around here. I do not like the idea of faith schools. How can anyone have a school for something so deeply private and personal !!! ..... ??? never made sense to me. May God guide you to His straight path. Peace ------------ Student of Allah

Oh, Abdul-Hadi, dude, you beat me to it! Carrot, seriously, what is a girl to think! I didn't even know what that meant until I was almost 17 and had to ask my mum because I heard some kids cussing each other using that word! Thinking back, I don't actually know what was worse, that or me showing off and telling her that I knew what masturbation was and wanking at the age of 9. Damn, I thought I was so clever. I really felt like I'd learned something at school that day. In my case, it was my mum that told me things. Then there were my dad's Lustbader books amongst others. What kid wouldn't pick up something with that name and a samurai sword on the cover? Then again, I was introduced to um classical authors such as Ana?s Nin and Henry Miller before anyone else. My childhood was plenty scarred. Seriously parents eh.

My goodness Chameli, you are much more of a Bollywood fan than I could ever imagine to be! Yes, the best films at the moment are from South India, they have such a wonderful fraternity there. In many ways, I would say they are much more advanced than Bollywood. I have got a mental list of the South Indian films which I must watch! I also wasn't a fan of Kareena Kapoor's either for the first few years, but I just find her so endearing when she is in love. I agree with you absolutely about Anushka Sharma, she is good, but no versatility. She has been quite boring so far and not pushed the bar. This might be because her introduction to Bollywood was opposite Shah Rukh Khan. I liked her in the song 'Ainyvi' from 'Band, Baja, Bharaat', being Punjabi, I love that song. It is a very Punjabi song, in its lyrics and its spirit. The 1980's, eh. I was brought up on that stuff! There were films with social messages, communism and socialism were themes which were explored in the 1980's from earlier periods. I have a little soft spot for them, not least because of the clothes and the hairstyles! Not to worry, I was only making reference to the song as opposed to calling you "chikni chameli". It is much better to be chameli than be a chikni (in my humble opinion, anyway!). Yes, chameli is beautiful. Traditionally, in the South Asian culture, women put them in their hair, especially, married women! Perhaps, one day I will do this too! ) Salaam. I love the "Ainyavi" song. And I liked Band Baaja Baarat, even though it was not flawless. The film had managed to be modern and yet desi in its essence. That was refreshing from all the Western-wannabe "movies" Hindi cinema producers were churning out those last few years. Oh well, I have to admit I don't know that much about the 80s. Though there were some gems, like Masoom (with Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi). But, you seem to know much more than me about that era so feel free to advise me any movie and I'll look it up. yay Peace.

Salaam. Dear Jafar, ?Please do continue?? That is what you say, and I really would like to go on, and it would take days. But I believe that I have some time left, maybe, so there is no need for me to be in a hurry. I was born in a poor and difficult family I know what poverty and indigence is. In my family we could have just one meal a day and we had not money to buy clothes. I grew up in the street, where there is the law of the stronger, and I must confess that I was always the weak. That is why I do not really know what the ?good manners? are I have no knowledge of the rules, of the conventions; I don?t know how to behave correctly, according to ?seriousness?, ?naturalness?, ?candor?, because I am, and I will always be, at the back of my mind, a street boy, a rascal. I have known the violence, both at home and in the streets, and this is something that brands you forever. This world of my childhood, this burden, has constantly been next to me, inside of me as part of my nature you can?t cancel the pain, the troubles, the hunger. And this was, also, for the rest of my life. I could have become a ?smart one?, and leave it all at my back to sell my soul and my ideas I didn?t want to. Am I silly? Maybe I am, but I like to be consistent with myself, with my temper, with my life. Jafar, when I hear children crying in the street my heart starts to bleed. When I see the beggars I feel I am one of them I am condemned to live a life haunted by the memories, by the present that I do not like, but that I would like to change. I do not see many persons, in this world, fighting for the good of the people, apart from el Subcomandante Marcos, in Mexico, and Aung San Suu Kyi in Burma. I would like that the rest of the world could realize that most of what the governments and the press say (both on the papers and on TV) is false, but my voice is too feeble. Thank you for dedicating a part of your time to me, to listen to my story. If you like I could tell you some more, Jafar. Peace to you and all the people here.

Salaam Arian, Peace be upon you, I am Christian and in no way I will disrespect people's religion. I would say good luck with the journey to discovery as the others are sharing. I do not mean to confuse you, you need to follow what is in your heart , I know that in Islam belief and teaching, women and men have observations and if you respect you religion you should purposefully do it. BUT... confused In Christianity we believe in freedom not fear and everyone will always be willing to answer whatever question. our parent used to say "don't play with the name of God..." never took our phones or toys most specially when you are of age. So a woman has as much rights as a man in whatever issue but it is for a woman to understand that a man is the head of the house brickwall Fear elektroto ask some deep concerns means you are under bondage, no matter how much you give in, you will never be free. life is a gift and you owe the fruits to God, should you not then find out from Him what to do or not? He and He alone will require the fruits at the end, welcome The true God reveals to you what you should do, sometimes we question our elders but already we are not ready to accept, in fact we hope to enlighten them, maybe God has already spoken to you heart. bravo As Christians, we believe Jesus died for us and we should not be afraid or bound of/by anything that can kill the flesh and cannot touch the soul. We believe Jesus died to redeem our souls to God and in resurrection we shall receive new flesh just as a corn dying and receives another body as a tree. & welcome In Christianity people who questions the faith likes to say, the Bible was written by western people or the Bible is a fabrications, but I tell you in the name of Jesus I have removed deseases in people and I have seen miracles which are the demostrations, o well, I was just sharing in case you might also want to learn little bit of Christianity, please do ask questions and I will answer and you can investigate and make conclusion, sun God bless,

Wants revival of Islam Empire, The Caliphate, which is only system based on Social Economic Justice... I was once believed in the same thing as you while I was at your age.. Until... I change my own mindset... and found the absurdity even on the term of "Islam Empire"... And how 'human politics' is actually among the root of all evil.. And perhaps you'll change your own mindset too.. in the future...' welcome to the forum... Salam / Peace

An idea would be to just come up to muslims (women night be easier to notice because of their coverings), and just ask a kind of "interview question" are you sunni or shia? have you ever herd of following the Quran alone? you should research about it. Women... hmm what I fear for them is that if they start rebelling against their possibily strict husbands that it can make things tough. Also I have had this idea for a bit that the place that it can spring with success would be Iran or Turkey considering the people have a pretty secular mind as is and Quran alone fits the secular ideology quite well.
