Asalaam Alaykum sister. What a nice story! As a revert to Islam for 7 months now and being new on this site... I recognize a lot of your story. I am glad I had a dream when I was 11 years old. That dream lead me here finally, but in the 40 years between... I always knew and had many proves that God always guide the true searcher. I live in Belgium, spreek je nederlands? I would like to chat in my own language if possible. fi aman Allah. Eiliyah.

Welcome! I'm glad you found us here. It's very nice to meet you handshake The exciting version would have none of you speaking to me. If fact I'm pretty sure I'd quit talking to myself too! ( hmm maybe that is a good thing) You got there in the end so no one can judge you on your past. I'd still talk to you no matter what it is.

Hey Serve search Mutazilah ... It was the first Quran only, unaffiliated to dogma or tradition, purely philosophical and spiritual path that emerged during the early period of Islam.

Thank you for your welcome loxbox. The problem is there is too many contradictions between the quran and history, one of them is right, the other is wrong For example, how can we prouve that jerusalem existed before 2000 years ago ? it existed only in the bible, but not before jesus, actually jesus himself there is no record that he existed except in the scriptures, so we cannot rely on scriptures to verify , we don't have the original torah, we don't have an ancient torah, the quran is older than the torah we have now, so , what about mecca and becca ? why is becca not mecca? because we don't like sectarians? mecca is mentionned in the quran so it does exist , or at least it existed, who can prouve that Abraham was in jerusalem? the only archeological find is sodom wich is in the desert around the dead sea, north arabia, some people say the 1st muslim quibla was jerusalem, i still don't know where did they find it or how did they know, unless they go for hadiths, maybe the first quibla was India , why not? no one can prouve anything, and one more thing, how come they invented a city called mecca ? there is no record of older mecca or another mecca, i believe if mecca isn't in arabia , it has to be on the african side, ethiopia , jerusalem is definitaly ruled out, jerusalem didn't have prophets or mesengers, to me it's an invention of ancien sects, specially romans, well, the more i discuss about this , the more it doesn't make sense, too many theories, and no clear proof , do i gave up, i accept a city called mecca, it's in the quran, and i accept a messenger called mohamed, he's in the quran, other than that, i just read and change my mind evey few weeks, i debate with u now that mecca is in saudi arabia, next month i might tell u mecca is in south africa or who know ! LOL Peace

salaam all! The time since I became active here has been good. I praise God for everything He has bestowed upon me. God gives generously in His mercy. Through this site I found friends in real life, if you pardon the expression. For me the community has been a learning experience, and God willing I think I learn faster now than when I was alone. I came in from the cold, used to feeling alone, and I found true siblinghood. The believers are the true human beings, and being in their company is paramount for a balanced life. Internet communication is fantastic, and it can unite us, but it is a poor replacement for face-to-face interaction. The written word can be both powerful and precise, even sublime - let's not forget the Qur'an- but I find most people, myself included, communicate best with voice and gestures, and listening, and watching. I have had to learn communication, for I had never before talked to real people about real things. My brothers and sisters help me. They teach me, they keep me grounded, they keep me humble. I live in the company of giants in a world of liliputs. We help each other in any way we can. We all try to learn from the Quran, and each other, and through Guidance. I pray all of you lonely muslims out there will one day know what it is like to live in the company of other believers. I pray I can one day live together with many more believers than the much cherished handful I spend time with now. group God is in control of all things.

Hello friend, Please don't try to be something else plain human being.. The source of what makes us human beings and source of The Qur'an are the same, then you have already donated with God's basic principles naturally.. Think about that, did you learn to be good and fair from religions those outside or you found these basic principles your inside already ever since? So keep your face set enquiringly towards the true religion/faith, God?s natural handiwork along which lines He has patterned mankind. There is no way to alter God?s creation. That is the correct religion/faith, though most men do not realize it. Welcome.

Welcome Nadia.. Young people are indeed relatively 'more pure' and 'clear thinker' than the older generations... I'm happy to see that at least the human species evolves for the better, as the next generation always be better than the generation that they replaced. It is indeed within the God's plan.. You are now "Quranist" but soon you will find that you can't live by Quran alone.. and you will be a "God Aloner".. Which then you shall found out by yourself the true meaning of muslim... Salam / Peace

Welcome sun I felt like I had come to find the truth in the Quran, yet I would have to study alone because no one used the Quran only. Absolutely! Study it alone, by yourself. bravo

peace everyone. I just thought I would give an update on how things are going for me since I joined. Still in some ways I feel very free - like a "thank God that I am free to think again" and also I feel much more strongly that I am on a better path. On the other hand I'm lacking patience for the old beliefs I used to have and that isn't good. It's making it hard for me to do good and putting quite a wall between me and my friends. I wonder if this might be a normal stage of the changing process? Or maybe a normal stage of my changing process anyway. InshAllah as time wears on I will lose the irritability I have when confronted with hadith etc and be able to take a much more peaceful approach to things. At the moment it seems whenever I am confronted with certain things I find it hard to get my point across in a pleasant way, or in the most beneficial way I guess. Tonight I came across an old post which said something I knew already, but it was put in a meaningful way (thank you Wakas )). It was here http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=7819.0 I am quoting here "If we condemn the sectarians/traditionists (to a significant degree) we run the risk of them condemning us, which makes our job of spreading the message more difficult. This is a natural response from them, so I think its better to avoid it. We disagree with their views, not them. This may sound obvious, but when spreading the message, it must be stressed. And lastly, one should constantly pull oneself back (so to speak) and reflect, to make sure they remain approachable/humble/civil/logical/peaceful in any discussions. To become arrogant/proud is one of shaytan's most cunning tricks (because it is self-induced and appeals to one's ego), as implied by numerous quran references." I have been aware of having a problem with this for a while now and when I read this I realised that sometimes I'm incapable of pulling myself back and reflecting and remaining approachable etc right now. It may be wrong or to be kinder on myself, it may not be ideal, but it's reality. I think it's a combination of anger that I feel having allowed myself to fall for certain things (wasn't using my brain), anger that systems in Islam have allowed so many wrong things to prosper alongside Allah's message and also just not feeling completely comfortable with where I am spiritually right now. Change can be hard. For a while I'm thinking of limiting my contact with certain people and perhaps not attending the mosque like I used to. In case you are wondering, I just haven't been choosing my words as carefully as I should and I find it hard once I start questioning to leave things alone (I haven't been abusing anyone or anything like that). This is not received well and this is not a thoughtful and caring way to proceed - it's all about me and my feeling and issues, not about how I can be of benefit to others. It's also not very like the usual me. I would love for others to question their beliefs in the same way as I have & to really ask themselves what Allah really asks of us, so my aim is that eventually I will be comfortable enough to plant that seed of questioning in others. I really appreciate the forum being here, thanks to all of you. I'd be lost without it. sun

I wish everyone thought like us,we would live in a peace,war-free community and Islam wouldnt have these unwanted sects that make muslims kill muslims.Terrorsits kill innocent people. Why cant we all co-exist together and leave the rest To Allah. We need to rise, because we are the true path of Islam, because we follow and worship Allah and no one else. Peace, Respect. This is True and I respect this idea and think/believe that we should do everything and anythin gin our power to make sure that this community not only grows but also remains as strong and also becomes a good example to non-muslims. I tried long time ago to point to a difference between sunnis and muslims and my goal was not to start an argument, we have too many of them but merely to let non-muslims and non-sunnis know and see and more, witness, the Real Islam. God knows Best, Glory be to God, God Bless you. Peace. handshake

hello everyone! just wanted to introduce myself so that you know who has joined that forum..^^ well, i am 19 years old and live in berlin, germany. i live in a lebanese family which follows the shia teachings in islam. i also was a shiite from heart, but later when i began to deeply think about religion, sense of life and all that stuff, i lost my belief in the shia, and started to put my trust only in god.. it is now almost two years ago that i am not a shiite anymore^^ since then my thoughts changed very much..first i liked the idea of the code 19, but later on denied it..then i regarded the quran as the one and only true message of god, then i was ready to throw that book into the garbage can..i really had sometimes some headaches because of thinking, thinking, thinking...D but now, my thoughts are sorted, more or less..now, i am still a muslim, understanding the term "muslim" not as belonging to a specific group but rather to devote ones life to god alone in peace, and also say that the quran contains a message from a higher being which is important for us in order to know how we should lead our lives, to teach us morality and fairness, to encourage us to help people who need our support..and to use our brains! i am a very open-minded person, or at least try to be one..^^ i tolerate other opinions and views of course, as every human has the right to have a personal view! well, thats it for now..if you have question concerning my psyche or my view on specific aspects concerning religion etc., then..just ask me^^ and sorry if my english is bad..^^ i hope that we will have some informative discussions here, god willing shalom! Salaam Bro. Welcome
