Razaa brither, everyone has an opinioin, for me i believe in the quran , i need it , if i go away from it i might end u in satanic rituels, or misguided, i know that life isn't easy for we don't know what is tomorow preparing for us, if u feel it doesn't matter if u believe in the quran and u say it to people than u're preaching falshood, first of all if u are a muslim , a muslim translated to submitter, it is true , but it is also a name, in the quran allah says Abraham named u muslims, not called u muslims, if someone have a complex for this word, than it is his problem Allah means allah, it's a name, god = ileh , the god = al ileh , but allah is a name that allah chose for us to call upon him with this name , in hebrew Eloh , in arameic Alaha , it was always like this until the europeenes came into play, dieu, dios, gott, godd , etc... if my name is simon, and it means like flower or rock, i prefer u call me simon in your language just an example , the quran isn't a joke or a magazine that it doesn' matter if u believe in it or not, if u believe in the quran , than it is allah's word than we must take it seriously, we obey allah and we obey his message brought to us through mohamed maybe these arabic names bothers a little if we live in the US , but that maybe a test

So as it stands down, I am starting my journey towards the true Islam. The one authorized by our Lord. But unfortunately I have run into another barrier. I am having a hard time finding consistency in the ?Quran Only? school of thought. I frequent other sites such as submission.org, but am finding some contrast in reference to subject such as salat and hajj for example. Salam Rishu, Welcome to this forum. I can relate to what you are going through. Many a time, I have questioned myself on the issue of consistency. I think this particularly becomes important when we try to reconcile what we know of 'our previous beliefs' to current Quranic beliefs. And whenever I am faced with these questions, I remind myself of these verses- ?Those who listen to what is said, and they follow the best of it. These are the ones whom GOD has guided; these are the ones who possess intelligence." (391 "Allah will judge between you on the Day of Judgment concerning the matters in which ye differ." (2269) To me, what the above verses say is that (and this is part onwards is purely my own interpolation of the verses), God acknowledges that we are all different. God knows that our individual interpretation of the verses are shaped primarily by our experiences, culture, upbringing and understanding of the world/language/syntax, hence there will be times that we will interpret things differently. He knows that. Hence why, he sets up amongst many others, the above two guidelines, follow the best and in the end He will judge in what we differ. I think that?s beautiful, dont you? Again it shows why He is our Creator. He knows that human beings make mistakes. And no matter how sincere at times we may think we are, our egoes sometimes do tend to get into the way of logic. To avoid all that, He is saying that He will judge in the end. Not anyone else. That?s just my perspective, but there are many more experienced forumners here, who can perhaps shed more light on this. Hope you find what you are looking for, all the best.

Well this sounds contradicting... Didn't God say that if you obey the majority of the people on earth, they will lead you from the path of God? "If you obey the majority of people on earth, they will divert you from the path of God. They follow only conjecture; they only guess." (6116). Sounds weird. Where in the Quran does it say that we need to be with the majority? And if the Quran really says that... it contradicts with verse 6116 -\ Someone I know told me that sentence, when I was in a discussion about why should one have to do what everyone else does etc. I apologise if it is incorrect. )

I think there is much wisdom to be attained from those books but is God's wisdom limited to any one book? Books have flaws, even if they themselves are pure and flawless. We as readers are not so perfect and are privy to the wrong interpretation. As an example, there are many killing in the name of religion or religious texts. salam zenshark & all, welcome to the forum. excellent observations, indeed. but the path to God is about unlearning, or dismantling every intellectual understanding one had all these while accumulated in mind. otherwise, God will never teach one anything since one's mind is full of notions, ideas and conclusions. one's prejudice shall then dictate. and the path to God is about accumulating whatever knowledge God has taught one, and to experience them. it's like a belief in God - what benefit is believing without having the experience (e.g. to prove or disprove) that God really exists. God-consciousness is more than an intellectual understanding. it is what one feels. it is an awareness. while the path of God is all about peaceful (not resentful) detachment from all that one was used to attach his/herself to (especially to what one knows & understands), except Him. it is solely on God that one should depend, to Him one should refer to and with Him one could have his/her recourse. God-consciousness is continuous, or all the while when one is awake. when one achieves this state of mindfulness, then one will soon realize that everything before him/her (wherever one turns one's attention to) is all 'qudratu Allah'. one will also realize that everything about him/herself is all about 'qudratu Allah', for nothing shall move without God's leave nor knowledge. may God guide us all the correct way, insha-Allah. peace mohammed noh
