Quran e Majeed had informed mankind, 1400 years back, as follows "We will keep making it visible to the eyes of those who do not accept Quran, the signs/knowledge in the Universe and in their own bodies till it becomes evident for them that this Quran is a statement of proven fact" {Refer 4153} While that may be partially true, the book also professes that the same people who do not accept Quran, their visibility, hearing and thoughtfulness has been permenatly sealed and they will not and cannot comprehend, no matter what, and for them, this "merciful god" will find them wherever they are, butcher/massacre them, cut them up from alternate sides, give hellish drinks and burn them alive giving new skins eternally. elektro Edit Now unless people here do not wish to discuss these matters or perhaps my understanding may be warped or all such "violent" words have other meanings or perhaps a pagan god may have decided to seal my mind in advance, then obviously I have no say and shall understand the gist of it. But from the discussionary point of view and to a better understanding of all such verses, who knows that the God may change his mind and that I may open up a bit, if that is however possible. No offense meant to you Mazhar or anyone else. Just discussing issues for what the Quran states.

Re Can it be proved that "Qiblatain" is an Arabic word? ? Reply #32 on July 19, 2007, 061117 PM ? Let's look at hablun now. We find hablun in other places in the Quran as a bond or treaty as well. {In Muheet I have al-ribaatu (ribbon, band, ligament, ligature, bond, fetter, shackle), al-rasanu (halter) (kal-muhabbal) kamu&adh-dham (exalted, glorious, bony or ossified), ar-ramlu al-mustateelu (long stretched sand), al-&ahdu(pact or contract), al-dhimatu (custody, care, covenant of protection) al-amaanu (responsibility), athiqalu (heaviness, sluggishness, dullness), adaahiyatu (smart fellow, calamity, disaster), , al-wisaalu (uniting, connecting, sexual intercourse), atawaasulu (continuance, continuity), al-&aatiq (shoulder) aw atareeqatu allatee baina al&unuqu wa ra'sil-katifi (the path that is leads from the neck to the head of teh shoulder), aw a&sabatun baina al-&unuq wal-mankib (union tie bind btween the nick and the shoulder/side/flank) wa &irqun feedhiraa&i wa fee aldhahri (root, stem, vein in the arm and in the back).} I haven't check lane but I'm sure you will find much under hablun. So clarifying hablu-l-wareed . It would also seem that hablul-wareedu is specifally a phrase for the jugular vein. It can have different meanings but this seems to be the most logical. I would say that the difficulty that Mazhar had is categorized under number 3 Quote 3. Maybe your dictionary only has a few selected meanings, check different dictionaries. After reading the article at this link where Hablil warid is also visible to the eyes, can it be denied that it was the Quran which for the first time used this metaphor to give knowledge of something hidden in human body? All scinetific knowledge {physical sceinces} not visible for human eye is described by metaphors. If Lane and others translated this word as "Jugular vein" it was merely because of lack of knowledge/information and since he and others could not perceive anything else from Habal il warid they found the refuge in calling it a jugular vein to satisfy the reader. It is a composite word, comprising two independent words, but little was said about it gramatically. Dictionaries are therefore for elementary assistance, Quran itself shall explain its words and statements. http//haqeeqat.org.pk/English%20Tafsir%20e%20Haqeeqat/002.%20Meanings%20and%20Tabweeb%20of%20words/007.%20Habalil%20Warid%20%20VOCAL%20CORD/07.%20Hablil%20Warid%20Vocal%20Cord.htm

1854 Khalifa We have cited in this Quran every kind of example, but the human being is the most argumentative creature. Free-minds And We have clarified in this Qur'an for the people from every example; but mankind was always most argumentative. M.Asad -THUS, INDEED, have We given in this Qur'an many facets to every kind of lesson for mankind. However, man is, above all else, always given to contention Walaqad sarrafna fee hatha alqurani lilnnasi min kulli mathalin wakana alinsanu akthara shayin jadalan

Salam, I would say the best Arabic-English dictionaries are Lanes Lexicon and The Hans Wehr Dictionary of Modern Written Arabic. Even though Hans wehr is a modern arabic dictionary, it also has the older translations of the words as well. Researching Hebrew and Aramaic will also help you immensely in your Arabic studies and the understanding of Arabic and by association the whole Quran. The best Hebrew dictionaries are by Vines, Gesenius, and Brown-Driver-Briggs, and the Strong's Concordance. If you can, I would suggest researching the ancient pictographs of phoenician and proto-canaanite, to further assist you in understanding these languages. They are all related and the further you study the more in-depth your understanding of the Quran will be. Salam, Arnab did you self-study hebrew and aramaic or take classes?

Simple, .... apologies to reopen an old thread. You are suggesting "BADANA" could mean "FAMILY LINEAGE" rather than "CATTLES". The verse 2236 clearly says "eat from them" (minha = from them). "from them" is missing from your proposed translation. The verse 2236 clearly says "mention the name Allah name on them" (aleha = on them). "on them" has been replacted with "on their wealth" in your proposed translation. Please provide word to word translation in order to drive your point home. I know it is time consuming but it would be worth the effort for people like me. Example http//www.quraninenglish.com/cgi-local/pages.pl?/quran&img=1215 Salaams, Original trans 022.036 The sacrificial camels we have made for you as among the symbols from Allah in them is (much) good for you then pronounce the name of Allah over them as they line up (for sacrifice) when they are down on their sides (after slaughter), eat ye thereof, and feed such as (beg not but) live in contentment, and such as beg with due humility thus have We made animals subject to you, that ye may be grateful. AND NEW TRANSusing lanes and qd. 2236 And family lineage We have made them for you from the symbols (of) Allah you have in them much good so remember/ be admonished by the characteristics of Allah in respect to/ upon their beneficence/wealth then when you are down on your sides eat/partake/seek help thereof and feed, be content and normalise thus we have made them to be of service to you that you may be grateful. 2237 Never reaches Allah their gains through hawkish ness nor their good fortune/prosperity but reaches Him the piety from you (all) thus He made them of service to you that you may magnify Allah for what He guided you and give glad tidings to doers of good. Another place where BADAN is used but makes more sense as family lineage, Naja = to be saved/ delivered/ go free. Badana = Body without spirit/ Family lineage. 1090 ????.now (you believe) while you refused to believe before and where one of the evil-doers. 1091 so this day we shall save you with your family that you may be to those who come after you a sign and verily many among mankind of our signs (are) heedless. Gods Blessings on all.

Sorry for the noise. you can't have answers unless you ask questions Explorer had very beautifully said that anything said merely on the basis of one's thought without confirmation of the fact/reality is but noise. Questions are certainly not noise. One man travelling on a donkey had also asked himself as to how Allah will raise this dead town. Questions reflect thirst for knowledge.

Nice that you are back with us. She adopted/acquired a piece of paper or pebble. Placed her egg sac on that, wrapped/arranged thread on it. This is her adopted/temporary bait to keep her "children". Why this adopted house of her is the weakest is quite obvious. Any insect passing by it or even light blowing of air will take it away. That is why she searches and not finding it deliberately takes a piece of paper or else and attaches it to her spinnerets {say chest}. Don't you know that the majority of the people in the univsrse are carrying empty papers attached to their chests which contain nothing but traditions/sayings of past people, whether muslims, christians or jews or others. Compare the similarity in the attitude of that particular spider female who adopts a house. Spiders keep making webs whenever they need prey for diet. Then either eat it away or abandon it. Mazhar, I see your point. When I read the verse about the spider house a while ago, I assumed that Quran is talking about the spider web. I said to myself the web of a spider is a very strong substance, how can it be the weakest house. It may look tenious to those people but now we know that a web is not a weak material. I revisited the subject after reading your post and it is clear that Quran may not be talking about the web. One of my outstanding confusion is resolved. Side note I admire your efforts of exploring the book in detail; as visible by your articles and posts.

Peace all The roots for "faiqtaAAoo" and "aydiyahuma" Qaf-Tay-Ayn = to cut/sever/disunite/separate/detach, to disable in prosecuting, unable to proceed in, withdrew, break down, perish/cease/finish/fail, cut short / stop, intercepted/interrupted, put an end/stop to, a piece/bit/part/portion cut off from a whole, herd, distinct portion. Ya-Dal-Ya = to touch, aid, do good, be beneficent, show power and superiority, a hand. By his agency/means. With a willing hand, out of hand, having financial ability. In acknowledgement of the superior power, in ready money and not in the form of deferred payment, considering it as a favour, on account of help, (payment should be made by the hand of the parties themselves without the intervention of a third party and without reluctance. baina yadaihi - before him, in his presence hit, between his two hands. ulill aidi - men of power (lit. gifted with hands) suqaita fi aidihim (idiomatic expression) they repented, the idea seems to be that they hit their fingers in grief and contrition. Handy, Might, Power, Superiority, Benefit, Possession, Favour, Generosity. The idea behind those expressions is that the use of the hand is the real source of the superiority and power. Under his authority, upper hand, arm, foreleg of a beast, handle of a tool, wing of a bird. ma qaddamat yada - that is what thou hast deserved. From http//www.studyquran.co.uk/PRLonline.htm I hope this helps. Peace

Here are some false claims from Nun 1- The only thing available is Qur'an. Wrong, whether you like it or not, you do have something called Hadeeth available. You cannot ignore something just because you reject it. There are these hadith as well ? shall we treat them as Holy Scripture? http//www.earlychristianwritings.com none of you know and you are lost in la la land, becaue you reject his example. You know for certainty exactly what happened, right? We are humans not robots requiring instructions for every mundane task like eating/drinking, sleeping, dressing ? basic principles in Qur'an require only common sense. It is learnt by example and one cannot learn it adequately through reading the book. Example, you do not get treated by a doctor who read the books of medicine, but who was not trained medical thinking by another doctor. That is Hikma. It means learning by example and the hadeeth provides you many examples. Like what dipping a fly? Lastly, malpractice doctors with degrees from fake unreliable hadith university should lose their license -- I prefer "the best" doctor from Qur'an university. Peace

Peace, I dont agree with Mz's interpretation of ummiyeena. Firstly, it doesn't take into consideration that the word is plural. Secondly, it takes no Arabic grammar in consideration to get this meaning. It is pure conjecture unfortunately. Ummiyoona has to be plural and has to be something connection to the concept of umm (Ummiyoona/eena is the plural of ummeey(un)) mother, base, model, center, reference point, destination). Please Mz take Arabic grammar into consideration when you go through these processes. It is allways conjecture Br, when we go against firm beliefs. I don't believe the Quran is created by a man, but if this is your opinion you are free to think what you would like. But why does the Quran even interest you if you believe that men created it, despite what it says? The book is the creation of men but all goodness is shown by God - the direction, and what we do with it is up to us. That is whether we make a porn Magazine or a helpful book - i think. And we can analyse the ayah's one by one if you like- if it interests you. Last of all i could be mighty wrong too. But why does the Quran even interest you if you believe that men created it, despite what it says? despite what it says- it is everything to do with what it says , apart from the fact i have been programed thus i believe. Gods Blessings.
