PEACE be upon you all, Until we cultivate the ability to be at peace in the face of adversity, we will fail to correct our behaviors in order to carry out the so called "commandments". We all do thinks told ourselves we would not, but when the EMOTIONS led us astray, we fell from the garden, and it is only by CHANGING WHAT IS IN YOUR NAFS(SPIRIT) FIRST, does then the God change our condition. We have to cultivate the PEACE first, then the blessings come. Just like many people wait for certain things to happen in life, certain material objects to come for them to say "I am happy/successful", but the proper formula is that you must be happy first, and that energy brings success.

peace warner, thank you brother for your input. It is certain some people will not believe under whatever circumstances. Some of them want to see God or God has to speak to them directly or they want to know whether God spoke to the messenger directly or an angel to come as messenger instead of a man or a book to descend from the sky. Rest assured, none of this is going to happen. There are many verses which explain this fact clearly for a person who cares to read the Quraan thoroughly (not just a few verses) and many times. We must read and then dont worry about them brother WHOEVER DOES GOOD, IT IS FOR HIS OWN SOUL, and WHOEVER DOES EVIL, IT IS AGAINST HIMSELF; then you shall be brought back to your-- Lord. 4515. O ye who believe! GUARD YOUR OWN SOULS If ye follow (right) guidance, no hurt can come to you from those who stray. the goal of you all is to Allah it is He that will show you the truth of all that ye do. 5105. peace

Peace saladin. I see your point; however, the verse does make a distinction between the "believers" and the "ahl kitab" for if it didn't, why would the verse separate them? Here are a few translations of 55 Khalifa "Today, all good food is made lawful for you. The food of the people of the scripture is lawful for you. Also, you may marry the chaste women among the believers, as well as the chaste women among the followers of previous scripture, provided you pay them their due dowries. You shall maintain chastity, not committing adultery, nor taking secret lovers. Anyone who rejects faith, all his work will be in vain, and in the Hereafter he will be with the losers." Shakir "This day (all) the good things are allowed to you; and the food of those who have been given the Book is lawful for you and your food is lawful for them; and the chaste from among the believing women and the chaste from among those who have been given the Book before you (are lawful for you); when you have given them their dowries, taking (them) in marriage, not fornicating nor taking them for paramours in secret; and whoever denies faith, his work indeed is of no account, and in the hereafter he shall be one of the losers." Freeminds "Today, the good things have been made lawful to you, and the food of those who have been given the Scripture is lawful for you, and your food is lawful for them; and the independent from the believing women, and the independent from the people of the Scripture before you, if you have given them their dowries, protected, chaste, and not seeking to take lovers. And whoever rejects belief, then his work has fallen, and in the Hereafter he is of the losers. There are two distinct groups being talked about here, are there not? I agree that the Bible is (mostly) man-made distortions of what may or may not be the original revelations but the fact remains that there are a group of people (aside from the believers) who received the Kitab before us, is there not? Who are these people? Peace. peace CavemanDoctor. the verse says "chaste women from those are given the Book before you" . i.e for example i have been given the Book , then there can also be people around me who are already given the Book before me , who are not necessarily believers in it . but to figure out who are those people , we first gotta figure out what the Book/al Kitab is .

Peace be upon you Tay, The use of the word "perhaps/maybe" is not a knock on God's knowledge but a testament to God's blessing of freewill and how He stands by this blessing. For, even Pharoah, after his tremendous transgressions, was still capable of repenting and changing his ways. Couldnt be said better!

Peace All The 2 threads "What is Quraan according to Quraan? and "How did you reach your certitude about the Quraan? arediscussing almost similar issues (At least currently). I thought the following verses will be important for this discussion Mainly because there were questions such as "Is it directly Gods words" and "Did you see Gods signature in it". Although there is no signature there are witnesses just like the Quraan advises man to have 2 witnesses for important documents and transactions. 4 163 We have sent thee inspiration as We sent it to Noah and the Messengers after him; We sent inspiration to Abraham Ismail Isaac Jacob and the Tribes to Jesus Job Jonah Aaron and Solomon and to David We gave the Psalms. 4 164 Of some Apostles We have already told thee the story; of others We have not; and to Moses Allah spoke direct. 4 165 Apostles who gave good news as well as warning that mankind after (the coming) of the Apostles should have no plea against Allah for Allah is Exalted in Power Wise 4 166 But Allah beareth witness that what He hath sent unto thee He hath sent from His (Own) Knowledge and the angels bear witness but enough is Allah for a Witness. Also It is certain some people will not believe under whatever circumstances. We must read and then reflect. 6 35 If their spurning is hard on thy mind yet if thou wert able to seek a tunnel in the ground or a ladder to the skies and bring them a Sign (what good?). If it were Allah's will He could gather them together unto true guidance so be not thou amongst those who are swayed by ignorance (and impatience)! 17 93 "Or thou have a house adorned with gold or thou mount a ladder right into the skies. No we shall not even believe in thy mounting until thou send down to us a book that we could read." Say "Glory to my Lord! am I aught but a man an apostle?" 1794 What kept men back from Belief when Guidance came to them was nothing but this they said "Has Allah sent a man like us) to be(His)Apostle?"

Peace darbaari, Maybe the FM translation can clear it up a bit; 2104 O you who believe, do not Say ?Shepherd us,? but Say ?Be patient with us,? and listen. For the rejecters is a painful retribution.

peace Rifat, all There is more to the Truth than science. Science is what we can objectively measure and prove. There are things science can never prove, and one of them is God. We all have a 6th sense, and we cannot ignore what it percieves, science HAS to do that to work. That is the flaw of science. and no, I am not angry.

I didnt say walking only , in any stance or posture the way a woman keeps her legs whether apart / moving / crossing( Did elke mention about basic instinct) / one leg up and if that can reveal her hidden attractions ( part of the body , curves, out line, figure). Hope I am clear. I guess I am more adult than you. just kidding. No offence meant. Ok, it may be that I'm the one not expressing myself clear enough. I suggested that this verse is not implying the Darab-ing refering to something visual as on a police station when smoking, walking on the streets, standing in any posture - but rather what happens when a women spreads her legs. Understand me now?

Peace, Some skies refer to outerspace, some to the air layer of our earth. But your conclusion that it is not solid is wrong, as you appraoch it wrong. The earth is protected by the air-layer as it bounces of anything that approaches earth in a certain angle, and the rest that do enters the air-layer gets mostly burned up by the friction. So it indeed has the same function as a roof. It depends on how you use the word 'roof'. When you look at the qualities of a 'roof' is that it stops things from outside falling into your house, the earth's air-layer does exactly the same. So in a scientific way it is as much roof as the one above your head. You approached it wrong and neglected one of the major roles of the earth's air-layers. I hope this helps.....
