Of course any government can circumvent the constitution any time it wants, and most do. That is a big problem.

Got to be careful to avoid socialist totalitarianism. 'The People', al-nas, of the Quran are not a Borg like entity. Social liberalism and social democracy are much more humane than authoritarian government-owns-everything socialism. Ali Shariati and his other ideologues were not trying to install Socialism per se, but a system that shared some characteristics with it. One of those characteristics was the promise of the redistribution of oil wealth to the masses, and from 1979 to date this has not yet happened. He was full of hot air.

Starting pr There is nothing wrong with praying together. There is nothing wrong with praying the traditional Muslim way either, but it is not the only way to pray and it is not a superior way to pray. Praying with someone can range from praying shoulder to shoulder, doing and saying exactly the same thing at the same time, to holding each others hands and bowing heads; dedicating that time to God. The only uniform things that the Koran gives when it comes to prayer are the following Chorus rotfl Pray to God, The Most High. Kneel and bow with worship in your heart before God, Most High. Pray in the morning, right before or during daybreak. Pray in the evening, during sundown, dusk or right afterwards. Ending- to be sung slow rotfl So that's it, plain and simple. So go connect with your lord, God! He is greater! http//quranists.org/prayer.html The national anthem of a future Quranic state! No more taboos! muscle Flag soon to come Peace Do not expect to pray with Sunni Muslims because they will not allow you. Because they consider you as "kaafir" as I have seen the opinion about Quran aloner from Sunni scholars. Naturally what we have to do with Sunnis. Those are entirely different from us. Regards

O you who believe! Be afraid of All?h and give up what remains from Rib? (usury) , if you are believers. And if you do not do it, then take a notice of war from All?h and His Messenger but if you repent, you shall have your capital sums. Deal not unjustly (by asking more than your capital sums), and you shall not be dealt with unjustly. And if the debtor is in a hard time , then grant him time till it is easy for him to repay, but if you remit it by way of charity, that is better for you if you did but know. When we say war on poverty or a war on drugs we do not necessaril imply slaying, as the case with the term qital is used in the Koran regarding battles. So war is an all encompassing word. Plus your translation contradicts the teachings of the Koran in other parts when it deals with fighting as I have shown. In all cases the Koran considers those who are in battle with the prophet as prisoners and makes clear how they should be dealth with. 2.10-11 In their hearts is a disease; and Allah has increased their disease And grievous is the penalty they (incur), because they are false (to themselves). When it is said to them "Make not mischief on the earth," they say "Why, we only Want to make peace!" 2,60 And remember Moses prayed for water for his people; We said "Strike the rock with thy staff." Then gushed forth therefrom twelve springs. Each group knew its own place for water. So eat and drink of the sustenance provided by Allah. And do no evil nor mischief on the (face of the) earth. 7.85-86 To the Madyan people We sent Shu'aib, one of their own brethren he said "O my people! worship Allah; ye have no other god but Him. Now hath come unto you a Clear (Sign) from your Lord! give just measure and weight, nor withhold from the people the things that are their due; and do no mischief on the earth after it has been set in order that will be best for you, if ye have Faith "And squat not on every road, breathing threats, hindering from the path of Allah those who believe in Him, and seeking in it something crooked; But remember how ye were little, and He gave you increase. And hold in your mind's eye what was the end of those who did mischief. 11.84-86 To the Madyan People (We sent) Shu'aib, one of their own brethren he said "O my people! worship Allah. Ye have no other god but Him. And give not short measure or weight I see you in prosperity, but I fear for you the penalty of a day that will compass (you) all round. "And O my people! give just measure and weight, nor withhold from the people the things that are their due commit not evil in the land with intent to do mischief. "That which is left you by Allah is best for you, if ye (but) believed! but I am not set over you to keep watch!" So mischief is many times the warnings of the prophets and so the Koran could have easily used war on Allah and His messenger to indicate opposition to the teachings of the Koran and the prophets and not actual physical battles. Mischief has been used in the Koran regarding a host of activities so we must deduce from other parts of the Koran what it means in verse 533. 2.30. Behold, thy Lord said to the angels "I will create a vicegerent on earth." They said "Wilt Thou place therein one who will make mischief therein and shed blood?- whilst we do celebrat 28.4. Truly Pharaoh elated himself in the land and broke up its people into sections, depressing a small group among them their sons he slew, but he kept alive their females for he was indeed a maker of mischief Physical wars are fought by combatants and in this case the person involved is a prisoner. Imagine if the other side captures a follower of Muhammad, would they not be justified in executing them also if your interpretation is accurate. And who exactly are those mentioned in the Koran as prisoners of war then? It does not add up. Anyways whatever it is it does not matter since whatever society requires a death penalty for exile for community could also be applicable. But your interpretation goes against the verses of the Koran regarding battles fought between the prophet and the pagans and verses of the Koran regarding prisoners of war. Why take another life?

"I used to be a Catholic, I became a Deist, I test-drove various Abrahamic faiths, now I'm back to being a Deist" If you mean Deist in the sense of believing in a supreme being that created the universe and no other "divine" being. Then I think most people here agree with you.

Why did the americans elect bush again in 2004 even though he had invaded iraq in 2003 which was illegal? It is because American media feeds false propaganda to them. No, I'm pretty sure it was because the other guy was seen as being pro-gay. Do you think that a global Islamic caliphate based on Quran as its constitution a good idea for the present problems of muslims. nationalism is against the spirit of Quran as it considers muslims as a single ummah. I don't think this follows. In Islam we call call each other 'brothers' and 'sisters', but that does not mean the biological family is against the spirit of the Quran. It just means we need to endeavor to treat each other with the respect we give to our own family. Likewise, just because the whole muslim faith are one family, it does not mean the nation-state is against the Quran. Nation states provide security and stability in the same way as the family unit. Just as it is very difficult to live as an orphan without parents or guardians, so it is very difficult to live without a nation state to provide you with security.

Ideally, I'd like to see peace keepers in Afghanistan and Iraq who aren't British or American and so who don't encourage the Jihadis. But well. On the subject of the thread, it is a pity there aren't more proper parties in the US. The trouble with Ron Paul is that people may decide they like having roads. And you'd have to be a little bit crazy to prefer Mr John 'Bomb, bomb, bomb Iran' McCain to Obama.

Peace UncleCasual, I graduated from high school 4 years ago and I remember it was pretty bad if you were anything other than a partier. Although I didn't follow any religion at the time I was still picked on because I believed in God and because of my Muslim Heritage/Name. But it got better after I grew older and learned to keep my mouth shut about my beliefs. I was probably lucky in that I went to a private school for my last two years of college before going off to Polytech. As for what I did; working and running my own business were of greater concern than partying and bed-post-notch boasting.

I know how the Jews in Iran are treated. But I mean non-Muslim's in general, I was on another forum where an Iranian Christian said that he wanted to donate money to the far right in Israel (those freaks that openly declare that they want a genocide of the Palestinian people) because he hates Muslims because they breed like rabbits. I was just curios to see how the average non-Muslim in Iran is treated. @ Yusha, although Zionism was originally a secular ideology nearly half of the worlds Orthodox Jews support Zionist Israel. Who cares about what the Jews support, our main problem is the American Evangelical nut jobs that fund them, without them Zionism would not be a serious problem. salaam what about hindu Members of India?s large Muslim minority often adopt Hindu names and dress styles in an attempt to avoid widespread prejudice that keeps them from housing and jobs, a Washington Times online report said on Tuesday. Shaikh Salim, a Muslim who runs a food stall in the central office district of Calcutta, uses the common Hindu name Shankar Maity and calls his stall ?Shankar?s Fast Food?. Shaokat Ali, a Muslim student who came to the city for a master?s degree in English, tutors Hindu students using the name Saikat Das and keeps a large picture of the Hindu goddess Kali hanging on a wall in his room. Jahanara Begum takes off a silver talisman embossed with ?Allah? in Arabic each morning, replacing it with a spot of vermilion powder on her forehead and red-and-white conch bangles of a married Hindu woman before heading to work in a fish market, where she is known as Parvati ? the name of a Hindu goddess. Analysts say there could be thousands of Muslims in Calcutta who, like these three, are quietly hiding their religious identities in order to fit in, the newspaper reported. ?In everyday life, Muslims in almost all spheres of life face a communal discrimination by powerful Hindus, and they are denied many of their basic rights and freedom in an unjustified way,? said Anjan Basu, a veteran social analyst and executive editor of Pratidin, a Bengali newspaper in Calcutta. Six decades after Pakistan was carved off from British-ruled India, many Hindus believe that Pakistan was created for Muslims and that is where they belong, said Basu, who is a Hindu. He added that communal discrimination has been ?institutionalised?, with Muslims being denied employment in the government and even many private sector offices, where 90 percent to 95 percent of the jobs are held by Hindus. Many Muslims who adopted Hindu identities say they do not feel embarrassed because of their actions. ?Fifteen years ago, when I came to Calcutta in search of a job, almost all street restaurants in the city refused to employ me because I was a Muslim,? said Salim. ?Some said their Hindu customers could refuse to eat at their shops if a Muslim worked there. But soon I met a Muslim man who worked as a cook in a Hindu-owned restaurant under a Hindu identity. I followed his advice, picked up a Hindu identity, and soon an upper-class Hindu employed me to run a food stall,? he added. Nearly all of Salim?s customers are Hindus, and he fears his business would suffer disastrously if his customers found out he was a Muslim. ?I know that hate Muslims simply because of their religion. So, I have done nothing wrong by lying about my religious identity,? he said. Ali, the 24-year-old university student, is troubled by his decision to hide his faith but says he had little choice after 29 guesthouse owners refused to rent him a room because of his religion. He intends to drop the pretence as soon as his finances improve. ?It pains me that I cannot tell people that I am a Muslim,? he said. ?I am restlessly waiting for the day when I shall be able to get out of this religious guise.? Some analysts worry that the deep-seated discrimination against Muslims could ultimately drive them to violence. ?As Indian Muslims strongly feel they are being unjustifiably denied their share in developing India, their grievances could snowball into severe anger against the state and society, forcing many to resort to terrorism one day,? Basu said. But for the time being, the realities of the workplace mean that many Muslims will continue to hide their identities. In the state of West Bengal, where the Islamic community makes up 27 percent of the population, Muslim employment in the government sector was less than 3 percent, according to a recent federally mandated study by former Judge Rajendra Sachar. A federal minister acknowledged last week that Muslims have been victims of ?religious apartheid?, both in the government and in society at large. Discrimination against Muslims ?is in the polity and the populace of the country. Worse, many of them have been implicated in fake charges of terrorism,? said Kapil Sibal, the minister of science and technology, who is a Hindu.

Peace LP, Important questions I think. Is there any way to prevent unneeded cases over simple problems? The only way I can see is to eliminate commission-based profiteering. If lawyers were working for their reputation and not for the typical 33% comission from lawsuits, things might be different. Peace, Tay

Salamun 'alaykum all brothers and sisters, 1101 When comes the Help of Allah, and Victory, 1102 And thou dost see the people enter Allah's Religion in crowds, 1103 Celebrate the praises of thy Lord, and pray for His Forgiveness For He is Oft-Returning (in Grace and Mercy). I do hope I witness the victory and see people enter the deen of Allah in crowds (have no idea where it would be though). As for now, IMHO it is just the beginning ... Salam. People will start entering The Islam as soon as they discover The Real Islam, the one we're in. God willing. I think we can do a lot if all start at once with this. I with my movie, you guys with other stuff. Women sing songs, men are in the movies, trust me, the word will get out, inshaAllah. Peace.

One thing I see is that no one seems to be responsible for establishing flow of accurate and verifiable information between the different departments and sectors and maintaining the information infrastructure in the state... There needs to be a separate body, like a department or ministry of information/media/relations. Please let me know if I have missed something. Reference 1736 And you shall not follow blindly any information of which you have no direct knowledge. you must verify it for yourself. In the Court of your Lord, you will be held accountable for your hearing, sight, and the faculty of reasoning.

For me, the first thing that stands out is THERE IS TO BE NO COMPULSION. Would a series of enforced, man-made laws not be considered compulsion? Granted, some will say that the laws should be based upon the quran, but is that what this great book says? http//en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Islam_Way_of_Life/The_Limits Supporting Dr. Shahrour understanding, this book believes that God, Koran and His Messenger only regulates the Law Limits. This law limits is timeless, universal and sectarian-neutral and should be obeyed above all local, time-specific and sectarian law. Theoretically, it works like "Human Rights" that "should" be above any man-made law. Within God's limits a consultation (shura) can decide legislation (maroof & munkar) and leadership (ulil amr). This legislation and leadership should be obeyed as well.
