The lis?n says us that its primary use is to designate a mixture of colors, mainly the red and the white. In the expression min nutfatin amsh?jin, a singular followed by a plural, amsh?jin cannot be a qualifier. It is a permuter (badal) of nutfa, hence our translation, which render the term with full exactness, whereas it is not the case in any other common translation. All in all, The nutfa, the tiny droplet which was common the to creation of the human and the animal (we know today that it was the primate to which he was tied) have undergone a permutation to become amsh?j. And thus, from these amsh?j, from this modification which has permuted the initial and common nutfa into specific amsh?j, there has been the khalq specific to the human, his creation in a new and different specie. We think that the Quran alludes here, very obviously, to the genetic modification which has made possible to the human being to appear, to split up with the primate from which he descends. This, the Quran says, has taken a very long period of time ( hin?n min al-dahri). The word dahr has no equivalent in European languages. It designates the cosmic time, incommensurable.

What is going on here? i dont have a clue. ? Is the Ayah saying that Allah created the earth in 6 ages, or the earth was created to exist for 6 ages. And either of these meanings wouldnt make sense considering the earth is already billions of years old. What's up with this? Lotetree, I agree that we shouldn't treat the book as a science book or limit it to that, but I cannot ignore some of the interesting findings in the book, the confirmation of tested science, I think these are remarkable. Peace albion, I have seen no such imformation in my research on the Net in regard to Mt Judee (Judea). Firstly Mount (Hills of) Judee (Judea) is in palestine/Israel, not Turkey where Mt Ararat is. All the finds you are talking about have been found in Mt Ararat itself which makes the story in the Bible the more accurate of the two story. You have given no links to support this statement of yours. All the research I've dont point to Mt Ararat it self with NO reference to Mt Judee (Judea). I do not believe in it as a "science"; but religious scholars of the sunni and other traditions consider their work as 'science' when it has nothing to do with it at all. 19 is a sign. That's all. You are either appreciative or unappreciative. Science as defined by the West seeks to explain the whats and hows of the universe, whereas spiritual endeavours seek the meaning and the why of the universe. They both converge in the endeavour to explain the universe. There should be no reason why the book does not refer to the universe in both modes. Regards.

OK, I will try -) The notion of simultaneity depends on your referential. Imagine I am in a very fast train, and you are on the ground. Let's suppose you are able to see whatever happens in the train. Two events happenning at the same time for me wouldn't necessary happen at the same time for you. That also means that from a certain point of view at a certain speed, the second world war, the crusades, our conversation, and some future unknown event are happenning at the same time. This is the current view of scientists today. Time doesn't flow, it s more like a frozen river containing every events past and future. What we call 'present', and 'time' does only reflect our perception. Of course that also means that everything is written in advance and that we all have a written destiny. I recommend you the book "The fabric of cosmos" by Brian Greene, or "The elegant universe" by the same author.
