my personal opinion about prayers to ALLAH as-salamualaikum brother/sister, first of all, what did you pray for? whatever you prayed for, is it something which will allow to get closer to ALLAH? Didn't ALLAH tell us in the quran that this world is nothing but play and diversion and our real destiny is in afterlife? certain things are good for us which we may dislike and certain things are bad for us which we may like... so if ALLAH doesn't accept your prayer, it may have been for the better while you may not know. btw, i don't disagree with anything being said so far in this topic. ALLAH knows best salaam, Rifat

God exists because you can feel it. Even an athiest knows it but just wants to believe in science. Put is this way- creation of ....life>>earth (and everything in it)>>solar system>> the universe and life in it (including everything else in it)>>the big bang>> ?????? >>>can only be God O0

Peace, Arnold all I agree with Descartes,Kant, and Ghazial.Metaphysics is a waste of time.Man will never find the truth using it.I used to love philosopy, but after reading Criteqe of Pure Reason by Kant, Meditations by Rene Descartes, and Tahafut ul Falsifa by Abu Hamid Ghazial I consider it useless. Also does not the big bang validate the creation from nothing idea.Because once in a work on the big bang I read the words "the universe emerge out of nothing".Another work on the big bang whos name no longer appears in my mind said "the universe one can say came out of nothing".Also about Islamic falsafa Muslim philosophers rejected creation and belived the universe was eternal see Ibn Rusd's Tahafut ul Tahafut a answer to Tahafut ul Falsifa.Your veiws Arnold are fasinating but are you not trying to grasp the "ungraspeble". Alen "Ah! Ye are those who fell to disputing (Even) in matters of which ye had some knowledge! but why dispute ye in matters of which ye have no knowledge? It is Allah Who knows, and ye who know not!" 366 But I do not see anything wrong in discussing the wonders of God, for we cannot truly comprehend God. "No vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision He is above all comprehension, yet is acquainted with all things." 6103 God tells you attributes of Himself so you can get some idea of God without anthropomorphizing him as human beings always do in religion. He tells you He is indeed the Truth, the Light, the Sovereign. I personally believe He defines these characteristics rather than He has assigned them to Himself. God says "The most beautiful names belong to Allah so call on him by them; but shun such men as use profanity in his names for what they do, they will soon be requited." God's nature defines all we see as beautiful and worthy of praise rather than what we see as beautiful is akin to God. At the same time this does not limit what God is. My understanding is God is not emmanent, He is not reality nor are we living in him (there is nothing in the Qur'an to make me believe so) God says He is ever-watchful of His Creation. I believe him to be Transcendent and Emmanent at the same time. At the same time, I may be wrong, Possibly we are existing in the "mind" of God. But this is just me putting limitations on God because I do not truly know. Our own perception of reality may not be the same as God's indeed 3-dimensions may be a crude way of looking at the Universe and other dimensions, which we may be given knowledge of when we are raised again, will give the universe more cohesion.

If deception is the meaning of "Makr" .... it really means "plotter" ....... Deception is the word "Gharoor" and God also deceives. Where do you people think these traits that we possess come from? other then GOD?? are you fooling yourselves?? God is the best at everything ...... what we "perceive" to be "good" and what we "perceive" to be "bad". Wake up and smell the coffee .... you are all lost ..... and you will all see, and I will see .. then we can dispute in the presence of the Creator. I long to meet Him .. as this world today is DONE!!

Peace lk/all, i think the biggest misconception about god is to appropriate "him" in a sectarian way thinking that "he" will shun any other believers than those of the faith one is believing in I second that. peace

Salam, Why do I believe the Quran is from Allah? It's such a deep text. No matter how many times you read it ... you will always come up with different meanings which reflect upon your personal experience, time and space. And God admits that no one understands the full meaning of the Quran except Him, that's why I believe and I have the right to disbelieve in all scholars, shiekhs and sects, unless they admit that that the Quran means lots of things and that these are all from God, and that it is flexible, timeless, not tied down and limited by something called hadith or history. It contains metaphors and conveys different meanings to different people and can be read both from an evil angle (e.g. amputate the theive's hand) and a wise/merciful angel. The Quran and the way we trust in it and understand it is part of the test, but most people do not know. 37 He it is Who has sent down to thee the Book In it are verses basic or fundamental (of established meaning); they are the foundation of the Book others are allegorical. But those in whose hearts is perversity follow the part thereof that is allegorical, seeking discord, and searching for its hidden meanings, but no one knows its hidden meanings except Allah. And those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say "We believe in the Book; the whole of it is from our Lord" and none will grasp the Message except men of understanding. I love the Quran as a guide. Allah says that the Quran is huda wa rahma (guidance and mercy) for the 3alameen (people/ people who know/learn) and it's so true because His advice is perfect for all situations. He says to avoid drinking for example and that it's from the devil's work! He's right, because if you get in the habit of such things then you'll waste time, money and health... plus more issues! What other book gives you such great advice to help you live a peaceful life? Has God ever given any advice that did not make sense? what more can I say? PEACE sun

Peace Mik, Unless God, having the final judgment, takes his background and circumstances into some serious consideration I believe this is the answer. The "judgement" is actually the manifestation resulting from what we did/thought based on what was on our plate. Some got it easy, some got it tough, but we're all "judged" based on how we dealt with the weight we've carried. peace

Peace all, What maybe irrational on the macro level could be beneficial on the micro level so we cannot even say something is absolutely irrational. This relativity concept is very important and can mean that what is satanic/irrational in our realm maybe rational and healthy in another. Quantum state theory and the shroedinger's cat concept should be contemplated on. Theres an infinite amount of states in existence simultaneously in the quantum realm. They all have to balance out somehow. Hence there can be no say of absolute good and evil and it is very important to realize this. This thought would clarify all issues regarding the question people often ask themelves as to why "bad" things happen and how is that fair for GOD to do/allow so. GOD Bless!
