    Salaam Belalhammad,
Which Muslim men are you talking about? Do you really see many who are men enough or Muslim enough to fall in this category?
Just five persons contributed to the thread about the plight of a Muslim woman unjustly held in US prison,
It does not matter if the woman is a sunni or not; she is a Muslim and it is the duty of Rajal/foot of authority (men) to do something for her but never mind about doing something, even on the thread below not much interest was generated by the ones who consider themselves "qawm" of women. (
    http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=9596881.45
Whereas last week Edip was arrested and many swiftly reacted to that news even though he is just a political prisoner and has in no way suffered like Dr Aafia Siddiqui. This shows the sad state of the s.c. "qawwamoon". '(

I hope Dr Aafia Siddiqui who is currently held in the USA prison would recieve Justice more than any place in the World I am waiting to see it happen.

I hope you will take time to read about her plight, you can read all about her in the link I have given, then share with us what you think is the duty of Rijal/men in such situation since they are the one who are Qwan over women which should include all women. &

I still see that the Women is more safe in the US than any other Moslem Country (she is a very well educated American who know the Aemrican system very well); the only thing we can do for her is to ask God to set her free if she is not Guilty.

Frida, are you sure that this woman did not committ the crimes that she is being charged with? After I read the thread, I could not find any thing to prove her innocence.

        Peace

Mariam were given The word of Allah--Jesus--and not the Bible

Sheba was a powerful Queen and were given the Torah of Moses to spread between Here People. Two things to pay attention to a)she was the QUEEN, b) she did not recieve a book from God.

            True

            I will.

            Who mentioned 'Bible'?

Saba / Sheba was NOT given any Torah, what are you talking about?

"Go you, with this letter of mine, and deliver it to them. then draw back from them, and (wait to) see what answer they return"...

Ithhab bikitabee hatha faalqih ilayhim thumma tawalla AAanhum faonthur matha yarjiAAoona

(The queen) said. "You chiefs! here is delivered to me - a letter worthy of respect.

Qalat ya ayyuha almalao innee olqiya ilayya kitabun kareemun

"It is from Solomon, and is (as follows). 'In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

                  Salaam Belalhammad,

Yes brother I am sure this woman did not commit the crimes that she is being accused of. Once her father too had faith in the US system, which is why she was sent abroad to study, but they had no idea how awful ?civilized? countries could be. You can read her story on the link below
                  http//www.bostonmagazine.com/articles/whos_afraid_of_aafia_siddiqui/.

After I read the thread, I could not find any thing to prove her innocence.

I am truly saddened by your response; are you proposing that a highly educated woman, the mother of three, the youngest of which was but a few months old, was involved in terrorist activities? I can?t believe you concluded that she is guilty simply after reading the thread.. Where did you see her guilt when she has not been even tried in a court of law. Nothing has been proven and what about her children? Two are missing so far, and her girl; did you stop to think where that little girl is now? After all you are supposed to be of the qawamoon.

I still see that the Women is more safe in the US than any other Moslem Country (she is a very well educated American who know the Aemrican system very well); the only thing we can do for her is to ask God to set her free if she is not Guilty.

Please brother no offence to you but you said earlier that I made a generalized statement about men, but sadly your response, so far, has not convinced me otherwise. Today it?s women who have to play the part of Rijal and Qawamoon too .

You seem to be off point. The relevance of the ayahs is that Saba / Sheba was blessed by Allah, swt PRIOR to the 'bird'....

"I found (there) a WOMAN RULING OVER THEM and provided with every requisite; and she has a magnificent throne.

Irrespective of whether they were worshiping the 'Sun' or NOT Allah, swt blesses whom Allah pleases.....

Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,- any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, SHALL HAVE THEIR REWARD with their Lord; ON THEM SHALL BE NO FEAR, nor shall they grieve.

Thus have We sent down Clear Signs; and verily Allah guides whom Allah wills!

Those who believe (in the Qur'an), those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Sabians, Christians, Magians, and Polytheists,- Allah will judge between them on the Day of Judgment. for Allah is witness of all things.

Which is confirmed in the following.....

There was, for Saba, aforetime, a Sign in their home-land - two Gardens / Jannatani to the right and to the left. "Eat of the Sustenance (provided) by your Lord, and be grateful to Him. a territory fair and happy, and a Lord Oft-Forgiving!

Between them and the Cities on which We had poured our blessings / jaAAalna baynahum wa bayna al-qura allatee barakna , We had placed Cities in prominent positions, and between them We had appointed stages of journey in due proportion. "Travel therein, secure, by night and by day."

But they said. "Our Lord! Place longer distances between our journey-stages". but they wronged themselves (therein). At length We made them as a Hadeeth (that is told), and We dispersed them all in scattered fragments. Verily in this are Signs for every (soul that is) patiently constant and grateful.

                      Read Your Quran

The statement that Saba / Sheba is worshiping the Sun and Shaitan is making alluring her blessings is a 'hearsay' statement from the 'Bird' NOT from Allah, swt

If you read in the initial ayahs leading up to Saba and Sulaiman's meeting, you will find Sulaiman's mistrust of the 'Bird'

And he took a muster of the Birds; and he said. "Why is it I see not the Hoopoe? Or is he among the absentees?

"I will certainly punish him with a severe penalty, or execute him, unless he bring me a clear reason (for absence)."

Sulaiman's motivation is to determine whether the 'Bird' is lying upon the character of Saba

(Solomon) said. "Soon shall we see whether you have told the truth or lied!

Obviously, the 'Bird' has trust 'issues' with Sulaiman, as hearsay is NOT admissible as evidence and slandering is mentioned in the Quran as a grievous sin.

Thus I dont know why your so 'stuck' on what the 'Bird' stated. Sulaiman,as mistrusted the 'Bird', so why should you trust the statement of the 'Bird'?

When ultimately Saba accepted Sulaiman's invitation to guidance WITHOUT Sulaiman's intervention!

And so, as soon as she arrived, she was asked ?Is thy throne like this?? She answered ?It is as though it were the same!? And Solomon said to his nobles ?She has arrived at the truth without any help from us, although it is we who have been given knowledge before her, and have surrendered ourselves unto Allah!

And he diverted her from the worship of others besides Allah. She had descended from a people who rejected and denied the truth.

Wasaddaha ma kanat taAAbudu min dooni Allahi innaha kanat min qawmin kafireena

The highlighted references above denote past tense references.

                              1. Allah, swt guided Saba to the truth and blessed her people, obviously PRIOR to meeting Sulaiman,as (past tense)
                              2. She descended from a people who, at some point in the past rejected and covered the truth

Even the Messenger of Allah's people rejected the guidance. Allah, swt still blessed the Messenger and his people!

                              Example

And the Messenger will say, ?O my Lord! Surely, my people / inna qawmee took this AL-QURAN and abandoned it.

(Allah has knowledge) of the (Messenger?s) cry, "O my Lord! Truly these are people who will not believe!"

Whatever good, happens to you, is from Allah

The 'Bird' was truthful regarding Saba's 'blessings'

"I found (there) a WOMAN RULING OVER THEM and provided with every requisite; and she has a magnificent throne.

There was, for Saba, aforetime, a Sign in their home-land - two Gardens to the right and to the left. "Eat of the Sustenance (provided) by your Lord, and be grateful to Him. a territory fair and happy, and a Lord Oft-Forgiving!

                              Allah,swt guided Saba NOT shaitan

NO SOUL CAN BELIEVE, EXCEPT BY THE WILL OF ALLAH, and He will place doubt (or obscurity) on those who will not understand.

An-Naml 27.44] ... She said. "O my Lord! I have indeed wronged my soul. I do (now) submit (in Islam), with Solomon, to the Lord of the Worlds."

                              Read Your Quran

By the way pasting in 24 font size text is NOT required.

Now the obvious question now that we have confirmed that Saba

                                1. Was blessed and guided by Allah
                                2. She accepted Islam
                                3. She was given and accepted Al-Kitab from Sulaiman,as

                                What is the problem?

Excuse, me your obfuscating and your 'stuck' on words. (i.e. Bird, submitter, Bird, wronged, Bird, Men, Bird, Women, etc.)

The issue was NOT whether YOU or even the Quran stated that she or YOU 'wronged her soul', the fact of the matter is that Allah, swt blessed her with 'Janna' in THIS life PRIOR to your 'Bird' discovering her prosperity!

                                        She already 'submitted'.....

Do they seek Deen/judgment other than Allah. And whosoever is in the skies and earth has WILLINGLY OR UNWILLINGLY submitted to Him and to Him shall they return.

                                        What is your problem?

                                        Allah blesses Saba with Jannah
Your 'Bird' discovers her riches, kingdom and prosperity
Your 'Bird' flies back to Sulaiman,as and tells Sulaiman,as
                                        Sulaiman,as doesnt believe 'Your' 'Bird'
So Sulaiman,as sends his trustworthy, individuals to deliver and convey to Saba Al-Kitab
Saba returns Sulaiman displays his blessings, Saba says 'oh that is the same I have'
Sulaiman says 'Oh you have been blessed by Allah and you are Muslim'
Saba then says 'Really?' Sulaiman says 'Yes, and you did not need my assistance'
Saba then says "I obviously was wrong to my soul by worshiping the Sun, but I now submit to the Creator of All, Im with Sulaiman, (He's my hero) muscle"

Even Ibraaheem,as went throught the same transition.....and Ibraaheem,as is the Imam for Humanity!

And when his Lord put Ibraheem to trial with words, then he COMPLETED them. He said. "Surely I have made you the IMAM / LEADER FOR MANKIND", he said "and from my offspring?" HE SAID "MY COVENANT SHALL NOT REACH THE OPPRESSORS."

When he saw the sun rising he said. "This is my Lord; this is greater." But when the sun set, he said. "O my people! I am indeed free from your (guilt) of giving partners to Allah.

I have set myself firmly and truly, to Him Who originated the skies and the earth, and I am not from those who give partners to Allah.

                                        Read Your Quran..oops excuse me....Read Allah's Quran!!!

Should I write 27-44 in a larger font; no I will try smaller

An-Naml 27.44] ... She said. "O my Lord! I have indeed wronged my soul. I do (now) submit (in Islam), with Solomon, to the Lord of the Worlds."

Now, what can you read; can you see that she is saying that she wronged her Soul; can you see that she accepted to submitt to Solmon God, which means she was submitting to a wrong God--THE SUN 27-24.

That is it, I will not discuss this further.
