The quran lays a great emphasis on good deeds also known as amal salih in arabic. Does amal salih mean praying, giving charity, fasting etc or as I understand, it means doing good actions like helping the blind cross the road, helping the illeterate to read, giving a ride to the child to school who has missed his bus and has missed his exam etc? The answer would be bringing out and working out the taqwa of our nafs. The taqwa that comes with the creation of the nafs (the spirit I suppose). Let me explain.
We are born with a nafs that is dual-nature. The nafs has both the mechanism to prevent harm, to protect, to build and all things positive taqwa, as well as the mechanism to destroy and harm and all things negative fojoor. So a human being knows, without even asking, whether what he is doing is good or bad. .

We don't be good by doing good. We be good by allowing the goodness, the positivity that is already wired inside us, to come forth and work out for us and others, side by side with suppressing our inner, built in fojoor. So al 3amal al ssali7 starts from jihading or disciplining our dual-nature nafs.

You quoted Samia in your reply # 18, but instead of putting her name for the quote you put my name >!!?? You should have written Samia's name on the following quote, just as I did here

Rituals in the traditional way are not "3amal salih", that's why I do not believe in them. They might even turn to the opposite, like fasting a whole month and stopping or decreasing work during it and spending too much money on food...etc.

It was sister Samia in her reply # 17 who wrote the above and not me. So please, fix this mistake, will you!?

As the saying goes "Tell me who your friends are and I will tell you who you are" and need I remind you God also makes it clear that, if you prefer the unbelievers over the believers, you are one of them.

Muslims are not to take non-Muslims as friends. Leniency is not to be shown to unbelieving friends and family. The spread of Islam through ?struggle? takes priority over these relationships.
