Maybe I'm wrong: Desperate god

Neither 4.3 or 4.129 are about masculine poligamy.
Those ayas were picked by interested parties in order to give themselves licence for poligamy. But neither of the ayas have anything to do with it, either to allow it or to forbid it.4.3 is about orphans or more possibly as upheld by Samia, for fatherless children, who might have a heavy handicap in the society there and then an also in many societies through history. It gives the injuction to the collectivity to marry the mothers of the fatherless, but not several of them to one man, but to each collectivity to dipose the marriage of as many of them as it can. The expression "in twos, threes, fours, comes another time in the ur'an, and points to marrying of those mothers as many as the collectivity can arrange for, it doesn't enter into the question as to whether to men already married or single. That is another question altogether.
As to 4.129 the aya before it deals withe divorce, and the aya after it deals with divorce, the aya in the middle deals with divorce. Not difficult to imagine, that for the man who may be, for whatever reason , ending a marriage and contracting another one, the temptation to disregard the woman who means less or hates more may be very strong, and that he may postpone her interests totally and unfairly in favour of the one he favours, the injunction there and then to fairness is completely warranted.
But there is one more proof thst people can make any thing any speech any book say whatever they want it to say. For that, there is only one rmedy. The text is not going to change, only the peopla can change. But no book is going to change so that people do not have to make an effort.
And people should be thankful the the book does not change, because then there would shurely be no guide. Because things that change according to people whims are certainly no guide for anything.

Polygamy.
43 And if you fear that you cannot be just to the orphans, then you may marry those who are agreeable to you of the women two, and three, and four. But if you fear you will not be fair, then only one, or whom you maintain by your oaths. This is best that you do not face financial hardship.
4129 And you will not be able to be fair regarding the women even if you make every effort; so do not sway too greatly and leave her as one hanging in a void. And if you reconcile and do right, then God is Forgiver, Merciful.
Remark Majority of man don?t think about fear when come when talk about fulfilling their sexual needs.
I don?t have experience in polygamy. I?m fortunate to be blessed with loyal and loving spouse and my parents also being loyal to each other.
But below story is what I witnessed myself.
During my Wahabbi's days, we used to have weekly class leaning Quran and Hadiths. The ?ustaz? or teacher has two wives and together with us in the class is the ustaz?s son from his first wife. In one of the classes we came across verse 43 and suddenly the peace broke when the son start to question his father the validity of the verse and he recited verse 4129 to his father. I?m new to the group and don?t really know what it is all about but felt what the son is doing is not right. First, he questioned the 43 verse and second, he seems like not respecting his own father in front of the crowd. The argument last for few minutes and the lecture resumed after that but the air was full of tense (?not much oxygen? as what some like to phrase). Few days later I was told by a friend the real situation and neutralized the earlier judgment passed to the ustaz?s son. However, there was a question left inside me. Why does GOD approved polygamy while HE knows that men will not be able to be fair to women?
I?ve read a story about a woman from Afghanistan who suffered from polygamy. Not to mention the gossips passed around in the society I?m living in.
Maybe some will say these are isolated cases but keep questioning yourself. Does GOD really going to allow women or any of HIS creations to suffer because of HIS words?
I have discussed, directly or indirectly, with a few Muslims women on this topic and majority of them disagree or, to be more religious, not comfortable with polygamy. I shared same feeling with them. But when I told them that they are actually not comfortable with Quran law, they then switched the conversation to justice and fairness. Do you think GOD doesn?t care about women's feelings?
There has already been an in depth discussion on this forum about polygamy, several times....
Here is my understanding of polygamy
I personally would not like having a spouse who has another husband. In any case I do not believe that polygamy is a necessary practice for males today since women are considered equals to males (when compared to the past this wasn't so). Today women (with children) are quite capable of taking care of themselves without being discriminated by society. The survival of women and children was the main reason why God allowed Polygamy in the first place. It was not meant to satisfy mens appetites but it was meant to be used to protect widows with children from poverty and death. Woman with children back then could not have survived ( or fully operate freely) in a society where they were constantly discriminated against. So in order to protect the women and children, polygamy was allowed.
At present there are many ways that a believing male can provide for widows with children without having to marry them. Polygamy is not needed anymore. This is an extinct practice that is not necessary in a society that respects women and treats them as equals.
Most "muslims" (especially among the Sunnis),abuse polygamy. Polygamy is not meant to be used for a man to have multiple sex partners. It is used to protect widows and fatherless orphans from poverty and death in an environment where women are discriminated against
42 Give the orphans their money; do not replace the good with the bad, and do not consume their money to your money, for truly it is a great sin!
43 If you fear that you cannot be just to fatherless orphans, then marry those whom you see fit from the women, two, and three, and four. But if you fear you will not be fair then only one, or whom you already have contract with. So that you do not commit injustice and suffer hardship.
Polygamy is not needed any more since there are many ways to provide for orphans and women without resorting to marriage.
Peace,
Kevin.
Polygamy wasn't meant to satisfy the lusts of men. It was meant to protect widows and fatherless children from discrimination, poverty and death. In most parts of the world polygamy is not a necessary practice anymore since women are much more liberal and capable of taking care of there children on there own without the fear of being discriminated by other people to the extend that it will cause them to go through many hardships. This in my view was a life-saving practice. Polygamy has absolutely nothing to do with men having more bed companions.
Peace,
Kevin

Hi,
Sura 2 Verse 30 to 33.
And when thy Lord said unto the angels, ?Lo! I am about to place a viceroy in the earth?. They said, ?Wilt thou place therein one who will do harm therein and will shed blood, while we, we hymn Thy praise and sanctify Thee??. He said, ?Surely I know that which ye know not?. And He taught Adam all the names, then showed them to the angels, saying, ?Inform Me of the names of these, if ye are truthful.? They said, ?Be glorified! We have no knowledge saving that which Thou hast taught us. Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Knower, the Wise.? He said, ?O Adam! Inform them of their names?, and when he had informed them of their names, He said, ?Did I not tell you that I know the secret of the heavens and the earth? And I know that which ye disclose and which ye hide??.In his attempt to counter angels' question, Allah had acted desperately by teaching Adam 'names' but not to angels. Allah's aimed was to prove to angels that he know better than them. After Adam graduated, Allah asked angels and Adam to sit for a test and the questions are about the 'names' which he taught only to Adam. Adam passed with flying color but the angels suffered failure. With this Allah had resumed his position as the Knower and the Wise.
However, I think angels' arguments about human doing harm and shed blood are true and they seems to know better than Allah. Maybe I'm wrong but one thing I'm sure about this story is that Allah himself not being fair to the angels. Is it fair for student who has not learnt about Quran being asked to sit for Quran's test paper?
True way of life base on two things TRUTH and JUSTICE. This is one of the injustices found in Quran teaching. I might be wrong and appreciate if members here able to show me the truth.
Did God "need" to do ANYTHING EVER? No. So what "desperation" is there really? God does whatever God wants to do.

I agree, we can see from scripture.
2123 He cannot be questioned for His acts, but they will be questioned (for theirs).
Romans 920 No, don't say that. Who are you, a mere human being, to argue with God? Should the thing that was created say to the one who created it, "Why have you made me like this?"
