Proof that the HELL IS ETERNAL
-
Peace free-minders,
Hell and Paradise are not eternal in Quran
11106 As for those who are distraught, they will be in the Fire; in it for them is a sighing and a wailing.
11107 Abiding therein as long as the heavens and the earth exist, except for what your Lord wishes. Your Lord does as He pleases.
11108 As for those who are happy, they will be in Paradise; abiding therein as long as the heavens and the earth exist, except for what your Lord wishes, a giving without end. They last as long as heavens and earth will exist.
-
In summary, these are the positions of people who claim Hell is not everlasting
(1) We will remain in the Hell as long as necessary
Whoever will enter in the Hell will endures the length of the state and there is no coming out.
"So enter the gates of Hell to abide eternally therein, and how wretched is the residence of the arrogant" (16, 29)
And they said "The fire will never touch us except counted/numbered days/times." Say "Did you take at God a promise/contract, so God will not break His promise/contract, or are you saying on God what you do not know?" (2, 80)
Yes/certainly, who gathered/earned a sin/crime, and his sin/mistake surrounded/enveloped with him so those (are) the fire's owners/company, they are in it immortally/eternally. (2, 81)
Did you not see/understand to those who were given a share/fortune from The Book, they are being called to God's Book to judge/rule between them, then a group from them turns away, and they are objecting/opposing. (3, 23)
That (is) because they said "The fire will not/never touch us, except a counted/numbered days/times, and deceived/tempted them in their religion what they were fabricating. (3, 24)
Thus, is logical say Hell IS forever and is NOT restricted only to a limited number of days.
We must say that the multi-meaning triliter kh-l-d truly does not always and not neccessarly mean 'forever', but such meaning (forever) is clearly intended in this passage in reference to/with Hell.
(2) Some of those who deserved the Hell will be taken out of it
(When that) day comes, a self does not speak/talk except with His permission, so from them (are people) miserable/unhappy and happy/fortunate. (11, 105)
So but those who were miserable/unhappy, so (they are) in the fire , for them in it (is) deep exhalation and loud inhalation. (11, 106)
Immortally/eternally in it as long as the skies/space and the earth/Planet Earth continued/lasted, except what your Lord willed/wanted, that your Lord (is a) maker/doer, to what He wills/wants. (11, 107)
And but those who were made happy/fortunate, so (they are) in the Paradise, immortally/eternally in it, as long as the skies/space and the earth/Planet Earth continued/lasted, except what your Lord willed/wanted, a gift/grant not cut/broken (interrupted). (11, 10
In this controversial passage the phrase except what your Lord willed/wanted has used to argue that some of those who deserved hell will be taken out of it. But if we see the very last verse we see that The God has also said for jannah the same thing that he has said for the hell- illa ma shaae abbuka (except what your Lord willed/wanted) -, BUT, nevertheless, at the end of the passage He has definitely confirmed the perpetual character of paradise saying "ataan gayra majzuz"- a gift/grant not cut/broken (interrupted).
According to the author's opinion, Illa ma shae rabbuke (except what your Lord willed/wanted) IS ONLY an emphasis that everything happens in accordance with the God's will. (this is the way that Rashad Khalifa translated 11105-10 see 6167 (a must read) for a better understanding of "ma shae" -the will of the Lord.
Another phrase in the verse that caused opinions that Hell and Paradise are not forever is "as long as the skies/space and the earth/Planet Earth continued/lasted" is in the author's opinion most probably an idiom meaning -forever, always and similar.
(3) How can a merciful God punish His creation in an eternal fire for sins they may have committed in a relatively short period of life on Earth?
It must be appreciated that God is not only a merciful God but also a just God and His justice also extends to just retribution. It is only correct therefore, that one expects to be recompensed for what they have earned which is the fundamental teaching of the Quran.
No matter how good a disbeliever may seem on the surface in the life of this world, He or she is guilty of great crimes in the sight of Allah. All their actions in the world, though may seem good on the surface, comes to nothing as fitting punishment for not paying Allah's due. Had they devoted their actions to earn the pleasure of Allah and acknowledged and thanked Him for all His blessings, they would have been saved from the Fire of Hell. The believers enjoyed Allah's blessings on earth too, but they devoted themselves to Allah as well and observed His limits in the Qur'an. The disbelievers will be told on the Day of Judgment with regard to their state on earth
"That is because you wrongfully enjoyed and rejoiced on earth. Enter the gates of Hell, there to remain - an evil home for the arrogant" (40, 75-76)
Allah tells them on earth
"Eat and enjoy for a while, for truly you are criminals" (77, 46)
God informs the reader that not an atom?s weight of injustice will occur (4, 40). All punishment will be in exact accordance to the measure of the evil deed of the sinner.
?And to all are (assigned) degrees according to the deeds which they (have done), and in order that (God) may recompense their deeds, and no injustice be done to them? (46, 19)
However only Allah knows best.

bravo
why we would do such a thing which will leads us towards hell, whether a number of days or eternal both conditions are not satisfactory to accept for any intelligent being,
lol we should avoid hell at first preference.
this life is like a game and you only have one chance to win , dnt try to gamble such a dangerous game ,

I agree with you, my analogy is "should I get run over by a bus or a truck".
My answer is, I should do what is necessary to avoid being run over by any vehicle!peace

i agree as well ,
red however its out of topic but i just remember a question by reading this example, whats about the punishment of suicide as traditional scholars said its haram death and person will be in hell fire ,even he beleives in God,
sommetimes there is no other choice left for people who did this suicide , as far i beleive taking your life is same as taking somebody else life, we belong to God and to God we will return,
infact this question suddenly arise in my mind about suicide thingie, its out of topic anyway i just want to share other members understanding about this topic , we can start new thread regarding this.

I find this thread amusing rotfl "how long will hell last" when a better question
in my opinion is "how to avoid hell" not how many times or how long you will be poked
with a hot iron or tortured.peace
Agreed. I suppose you'd only argue and wish for a limited time frame hell if you yourself overwhelmingly thought you would end up there and have no intention of changing whatever it is that you're doing that you know will potentially land you there. Otherwise a normal and healthy attitude would be to do all you can to stop the things that could take you to that place in the first place!

Yes, in fact it is good to work on how to avoid Hell. Working on yourself is always a good start.

Did anyone read surah 2 of the Quran? Their forgeries deceive them
They simply get mislead by their own lies and say hell is not forever heaven and hell are for two different kinds of people.Reeating it ad nauseam won't makethings last more than they should.
Now, noody has yet matched satisfactorily God'sclaim tobeing just and merciful and forgiver with a punishment that last "forever" for crimes that in the very worst of cases cannot last more tha 150 (I don't know that anybody lasts longer than that).
When God in the Qur'an lashes out to evil people he is stressing his justice in the sense that the people who make life miserable to othes andpersute and torture them may feel that they can do that to others but that the same thing would not attain them and that xhibit arrogantly their own impiety and for thathe explains that they WILL INDEED get their match in the receiving end. He is stressing that, but to conclude that tht thing will last forever is not to admit justice but trespass al limits against which even victims of persecution are warned. Of course God is not victim of anything and can do whatever he pleases, even if it is absolutely horrendous, but thething is tht He himself says that he is just that he won't wrong anybody even for an atom... That does not match any eernal punishment no matter how much he eternalhellers keep insisting that tht is a fact. The base it on an understanding of a word, or raher misundertanding, because logically and matching the whole of God's message, such a thing is an atrocious indictement of God's justice. T satisfy those whosuffer much injustice in this world He has many ways and allthe power to make it up for them.
Justice eternal hell? My foot.

Fye,
Those interpreters of Quran was against their arguments, so it is they who made forgeries. There is no eternal Hell except for those who never escape as for them it obviously becomes eternal.

Salaam,
Please tell me who are the people that they will be able to escape, if once you are placed therein you will never be able to exit.

We can't compare human courts and trials to God's Judgments. God doesn't have to hold any trial in order to punish someone. He already knows "all the evidence" and takes appropriate measures whenever He Wills.

Sectarian or not sectarian, isn't important.
We must take heed from all the sources, "sectarian" or "free-minded".

truth will never change by hoping or praying. eternal or not eternal is not important, avoiding it is important, i cant even bear a second in hellfire and i always ask my Rab to not punish me, for even a second
to him we belong, to him we will ultimately return, but in what sense , thats what we need to decide inshAllah
