    Brother Imran

    Instead of laughing and ridiculing please look at any of classic Arabic dictionaries and see what "Kafara" means.
    As per project root list

    Quote
    = Kaf-Fa-Ra = to conceal, to cover, to reject, to disbelieve, to be thankless, unthankful, ungrateful, to disown, deny, faithless, black horse, dark night, tiller/farmer.

    As per Lane

    http//web.archive.org/web/20030505042451/http//toluislam.com/pub_online/exposition/glossary_i_to_k.htm

    Quote

    1. Kufr / K'afir / K'afireen - (Kaf-Fa-Ra).

    Kufr means to conceal, to hide, to cover.

    Arimani has mentioned Akhfa, Satara, and Ajanna as synonyms of Kafara. Ibn-e-Faris also agrees that its basic meanings are to cover or conceal. Therefore,

    A person whose body is fully covered with weapons is called K'afir.
    Night is also called K'afir, as its darkness covers everything.
    Dark clouds are called K'afir.
    A river or sea is called K'afir as it covers everything lying in its bed.
    A farmer is called K'afir as he hides the seed under the soil (Taj).
    A grave is called Al-Kafro as it hides the dead-body.
    In the same way, K'afir is a person who conceals the fundamental and absolute values of life, given to man by Allah. A person who hides his own or other peoples' potentialities and does not permit them to develop is also known as K'afir. Keeping in view this meaning of hiding or covering, it was also used in the meaning of denial, refusal or rejection. Therefore, it was also used in contrast to the concept of Ei'man, i.e., one who denies the absolute truth as given in the Quran (2/4-2/6). K'afir is used as an opposite of Momin

    Kufr is also used as antonym of Shukr, as Shukr means something which gets prominent (14/7). From here the word "Kufran-e-N'aimat" is derived which means to hide bounties of nature, or to refuse to offer them for the good of mankind.

    "Kaffara" is, therefore, an act which covers the misdeeds or the ill-effects of some wrong-doing.

      I find that definition also very weak.
      Sometimes it's better to hide the truth, would be cruel to tell a child he/she made an awful painting.
      And there are a billion other examples where its not done to tell the truth.

      Bender I agree with what you say. I only gave meaning of "kafara" Please see my reply to Imran where I have linked PRL and Lane for the meaning of "kafara".

      God bless you.

          kafir = river
          river = water
          water= hydrogen + oxygen

          kafir = oxygen

          lhs=rhs equation match

          lets come on oxygen

          oxygen= gas
          gas = carbondioxide

          carbondioxide = kafir

              Nay, the guy who started the salafi movement was a freemason. He was also the first guy to open a lodge in Egypt. He was the grand master freemason. Now imagine how many humans he sacrificed to reach that degree. Naik's money comes apparently from mysterious foreign sources of Saudi, Britain and some other middle eastern countries.

              On 13 July 2016, Vishva Hindu Parishad leader Sadhvi Prachi announced a reward of 50 lakh (US$74,000) to anyone willing to behead Zakir Naik. This came a day after a Shia group styling itself the "Hussaini Tigers" placed a 15 lakh (US$22,000) bounty on his head

              and he got ban of preaching to uk canada, and intrestingly his own home country india...

              question is he was clearly telling about 9/11 an inside job but still didnt get a ban of usa...strange

              lol i think he is the agent of cia like laden or a freemason i have no idea its God who know all secrets..

                  ...............................

                  What do you mean with this Parvez "But if we take the abrogation in terminological sense it gives a entirely different meaning and no doubt ,our ancestors had taken only these sense of abrogation"

                  As per Wiki
                  Terminology is the study of terms and their use. Terms are words and compound words or multi-word expressions that in specific contexts are given specific meanings

                  So ,if the verse 9.05 in terminological sense ,then it implies that verse suits only on the occasions which are specified in that context

                    So you don't have problem with the rituals of other major religion .i wonder why you have problem only with the rituals of salafi .If they think ahaidth guides them better then it is the problem between them and the ALLAH subahnavatala .why you worry about them .You cannot call salafi or any one as satanic provided they claim to be monotheist .if ALLAH subahnavtala ,says people who believe in ALLAH subahnavtala and the last day and do righteous deeds must not fear then who are you to say they are satanic .Quran is not only for you or for salafi but it is for entire humanity .did ALLAH subhanavatal missed out any religion in his grand Quran .Do you have the answer for this question

                      sorry for offtopic brother pervaiz... but sometimes we cant help it..

                      regarding faith , the thing that matter is submission and loyalty to God alone it does not matter whether you do it physically oor verbally or by wrong actions, or anything you do...

                      what matter is associating anything with God.. and as far i know people always associate partners with God in their worship some are unaware what they are saying or doing so God is very just he willl deal with everybody through the level of understanding everybody have...

                      but if somebody know assoicating any partner with God is sin and still continue to do it due to the distraction of false beleif they will be in a trouble like some people beleive on the day of judgement its prophet who will request from God to forgive his nation and their sins and God will forgive them all,, due to this thing keep in mnd people do whatever sin as they already kknow we are going to heaven anyway...

                      same with the teaching of christanity they think its jesus stamp should be on ur faith who died for our sins and this sacrifice will take the lovers of jesus to paradise..

                      jews have same understanding they are superior and rest of them are going to astray..

                      but clearly all will get disappointed when the other side of picture will come infront ,,, and they will grieve that aww why did not we understand , alas we get a secoond chance but it will be too late..

                      so no point of gambling when u only have one chance and follow books which are not authorised by God or messengers to follow...

                      let say our prayers are for God so there is no point that we take another names in between our connection to God.. its clear we should serve/worship only to lord... the names we mention they also serve/worship only God .. they did not take their names along with God in their worship concept is clear but people make it very difficult...

                      peace
                      God bless you

                            Hi Novice,

                            yes I know it's a definition from dictionaries and also can be understood in that way in the spoken arabic (the language in the arabic countries), but in light of quran arabic that definition is imo not a good one.
                            I prefer to take the better definition no matter from what source it comes from, lexicons are for me as valuable as your or other members definition.
                            To understand the quran we should always strive for better definitions even if it they are totally different from lexicons.
                            Of course this is only my opinion.

                                    A farmer is called "Kafir" in Quran in 5720

                                    (

                                    Know well that the worldly life is but a play and an amusement, and a show of beauty, and exchange of boastful claims between you, and a competition of increase in riches and children. 8 (All this is) like a rain, the growth of which attracts the farmers, then it withers, and you see it turning yellow, then it becomes straw. And in the Hereafter there is a severe punishment (for the disbelievers), and forgiveness from Allah and (Allah?s) pleasure (for the believers and the righteous). The worldly life is nothing but a material of delusion.

                                    May God bless you.

                                    Salaam,

                                    Not sure whose translation that is but it is obvious that the translator consulted an arabic dictionary to come to his translation.
                                    If in the dictionary he had found for "alkuffara" birds who hides something, then he would have translated it as "birds" and the sentence would make as much sense as with farmers.

                                      It is Taqi Usmani's translation which I copied/pasted from quranexplorer.com

                                      Dr Asad, Dr Shabbir, Perwaz Ahmad, Sahih translation, and many many others have all translated alkuffar as farmers/tillers.

                                      May I know how you understand 5720 brother.

                                          So brother what you say when God uses Kuffar for farmers as per following verse 5720?

                                          The definition of kafara is not mine it is in Quran. Please reflect on 5720 and then electrify me.

                                          May God bless you.

                                          first of all i did not electrify you, i electrify the difference , for rectify the errors,, remember advancne accounting when teacher rectify the errors in balance sheet just kidding ...chill out no need to be personal... its better to share views with each other thats y we are here.. beleving or rejecting something is totally a responsibilty of your own.. btw its not what i asked i mean what i electrify you still did not tell me red and green difference..lol ok forget about it..

                                          first i was thinking not to reply you regarding this but as a brother i always like to share my understanding with people if they get advantage from it.. so i have an advise for you .. if you read traditional translation your mind will probably think and understand what an interpretor want you to understand... so this book quran we should read it with care.. now think about this translation..

                                          5720 Know that the worldly life is no more than play and distraction and adornments, and boasting among you, and to increase in wealth and children. It is like plants that are supplied by an abundant rain, which appear pleasing to the rejecters. But then they dry-up and turn yellow, and become useless hay. And in the Hereafter there is severe retribution, and forgiveness from God and acceptance. This worldly life is no more than a deceiving enjoyment.

                                          and one more thing even if you put the farmers inside it for making u understand so its mean the farmer who are kaffir by faith not by proffession....

                                          and one more thing as a bonus... this triliteral root kf f r ( &#1585 occurs 525 times in the Quran and everywhere
                                          all the traditional translators used word kaffir as rejector apart from this this occassion.. = weak translation becoz human being = limited knowledge..& sometimes do errors..

                                          go for urself and check it.. at corpus.quran..

                                          and before making any claim do your research and see what = balanced..

                                          the translation which i posted does make more meaningful with respect to root and sentence..

                                          God bless you too
                                          peace.
