gay people and islam
-
hi guys,
according some research, homosexuality is natural to some people, that they are born that way, just like how heterosexual people are, they can't resist the nature of their sexuality.
what i'm wondering is that, does islam acknowledge homosexuality? if it doesn't, how gay people would accept islam as it's supposed to be religion for everyone?
i'm a god believer, and i'm into this god alone movement, and i would like to know if this god alone movement embraces gay community. -
Peace be upon you Topo,

One can resist any perverse thought or sensation that comes to them. The above is an excuse to promote homosexuality.

The life of Peace ackowledges ALL LAWS of life, which are based on Observation and Measurment. To answer your question, it ackowledges it as incorrect behavior. This is not an attack on the PERSON, but the BEHAVIOR.
if it doesn't, how gay people would accept islam as it's supposed to be religion for everyone?
Islam is not a religion, it is a wholeistic system of peace, anyone can be peaceful, but in order to achieve higher levels, one must abide by theLaw of the Universe.
i'm a god believer, and i'm into this god alone movement, and i would like to know if this god alone movement embraces gay community.
This "movement" embraces all humans, if one wants to describe themself with the title of homosexual, that is thier business, they will still recieve fair treatment and respect, but never will the sexual act be promoted nor accepted.

Peace topo. I speak for myself only. I am coming to the understanding that some people are naturally born gay,and may find it unnatural to engage in opposite sex relationships. I currently dont have a problem with this.(i am married and hetro-sexual) I am however still studying this topic. I would appreciate that people will treat this topic with humanity, respect, tolerance and a will to understanding and constructiveness.
Peace all. -

Peace,
May I ask why you are interested in the topic?

this issue has been quite sensitive, but we need to start discussing it in relation to islam as a progressive way of life. nobody wants to be born different from mainstream/normal form of life, much less to be born as gay. you can't ask not to be born as black, nor handicapped, nor gay.

dear brother, you are trying to speak for a lot of people here, saying that "never will .... etc." wink
Though, being exact, this is only your personal opinion.Yes, I am sure that most people on this forum will strongly agree with you
on this opinion. But that does not mean that all people trying to follow a "qurani God alone" approach will do so.I, for example, will not. Unfortunately I really don?t have the time now to discuss this here in detail and my research has not been finished yet but I am 90% sure that it is too easy to say that islam prohibits homosexual relationships (though there are some issues connected to this here...) and also that the story of Lut is not about homosexuality at all.
Again, I know that most people here will disagree with me, will say that I make hal?l what is har?m etc. and will want to have fun discussing this issue. But that?s not what I am into at the moment. What I am into now is to give a second voice (second to enquirer`s voice) that not every one on this forum believes that "never will the sexual act be accepted".
Just some few clues why I am sure that the story of Lut is not about homosexuality
-
Lut adresses his whole people of approaching men in shahw?t and do what no people before ever did.
He does not say that the men approach men in shahw?t and the women approach women in shahw?t!
There?s no mentioning like that.
Yep, you will say that we will need to understand this not too literally ... that?s the sunni approach to the story as well and I strongly disagree with it.
We are to understand it literally!! -
The verses that use shahw?t towards men in the story of Lut as a negative thing have their balance in verses describing shahw?t towards women as negative as well. Look at 3/14, there shahw?t towards women is also negative, for all mankind!
Thus, the problem is clearly not the gender of the person. Both men and women can become problematic here. The problem is the shahw?t. -
The terminology that the qur'?n usually uses for performing sexual acts etc. is totally missing from all verses of the story of Lut, except when you stress meanings.
There is no terminology for purely sexual actions at all in the whole story of Lut, despite the fact that the qur'?n uses terminology like that when needed e.g. when it comes to marital relations or adultery.
Some might interpret shahw?t as sexual terminology but 3/14 with the mentioning of wealth etc. is very clear that shahw?t is never a purely sexual term! -
The ideal relationship described in 30/21 uses totally non gendered terms. The plural azw?j here can refer to both female and male partners. There is no verse in the qur'?n that says clearly in clearest words (unlike the Bible, Talmud etc.) that men are only created for women and vice versa.
From these observations alone I already see it as pretty stressed to derive from the story of Lut a general condemnation of male and female homosexuality.
One more note
I am very very sure that the qur`?n teaches a sort of yin/yang relationship in the whole created world. And this relationship is very important in human relationships as well.
I do believe that usually men/women relationships explore this yin/yang dynamics in the best way.
But I see it as very problematic to limit this dynamics to biological sex alone. One would run into many problems here because nature simply doesn?t work like that. Also, I am pretty sick by the over and over upcoming myth that homosexuality is
promoted? in western societies, science is searching for excuses to promote it just because of lobbies etc. used bymuslims? to condemn homosexuality.
It was just a few decades ago that gays were murdered under most horrible circumstacnes in German Nazi concentration camps (and not treated too much better in all prisons of the western world) and in most rural areas of the western world gays and lesbians are still regularly beaten up.
Just because there is a small urban class of happy gays who are strongly involved in some media projects and reforms in legislationdoesn?t tell anything.
The majority of `western culture? does not promote homosexuality but is very violent towards it.
New scientific research on the biology of sexual orientation and gender identity is very very founded and well researched and does not follow any lobbies. The scientists involved in this have over and over in new studies in the past few years adressed objections to their theories with no fear. So, topo, you see that opinions here on this forum are not uniform in any way. You will definitely have the majority here agree to condemning homosexuality as such, I guess, and you will have other voices as well.

It?s a psychological disorder. People having these problems used to consult psychiatrist why use to talk to them and the problem use to be solved once the patients know it?s a disease. What happen not is when they visit a psychiatrist (due to social pressure, the media etc) they are issues CONDOMS so they can go and bo bo someone ? . This is crazy. Some people thing there is a genetic pre-disposition to this. I would say YES even if it is....but why go to such environment to turn on those GENES??? IF they are born to be on then turn them off of God sake! Any GAy people can accept Islam, there shouldn't be a problem, they just need to change their behavior.
-
peace stephanie, leyla and all. This is a topic i take interest in because i want to be just to all people, and i want to be sure that i dont negate a type of behaviour that could be acceptable. As i have stated i am married to a woman and i find that natural for me. However if someone-else is born with a different inclination i have to ask 'is this acceptable? I believe(like leyla) that it is not explicit that the crime of the people of lut was being gay.
Peace. -

I`d like to know where you got this information from???
These are silly rumours with no foundational basis, according to my knowledge.
Could you please refer me to a name of a person who has been cured of being gay and who has acceptable and realiable medical/psychological data on this being cured??
And could you please also refer me to a name of a psychiatrist handling out condoms to his patients so that they can go an bo bo someone??I have to say, I am quite sceptical of modern urban gay culture and I don?t like most of its facets.
But I am as sceptical of pre programmed minds reading something into the qur?n that just is not there in the plain text and of rumours being spread abouthomosexuality being curable? and stuff like that. -
people always correlate homosexuality to aids, std, and free sex in general. but the thing is that, don't heterosexual people commit premarital and extramarital sex too? but it doesn't make heterosexuality itself a sin, does it?
i strongly believe in intramarital sex, and i'm opposed to any form outside of that. but what i don't understand is that why gay people are not given the right to get married and stay in the monogamous relationship with his/her partner to prove that they can live their lives in such relationship that heterosexual couples have? -
Peace be upon you all,
I will address the story of LOT later, for now, lets just look at the ORGAN structures and ask, did the God make a mistake giving a man a penis while he "likes" men?
What has to get across is that we are talking about LIKES and DISLIKES. These are things that can be CHANGED. We can all verify this in our own lives, there were things that we liked or disliked when we were kids that we have the opposite opinion on today.
Should we go now and say that child molesters are okay because they were born liking children? Of course not, they need help, because it is a sexual perversion, just like homosexuality.
Lets not be like the wife of Lot who looked back, meaning, wanted to overlook the rejecting act, was stuck in her ways (old woman), etc
I'll take a look at your understanding of Lot tonight and respond on that side of this.
-
Leyla,
I am a scientist and scientificlly, anatomically and logically it is wrong, what everyou say....I do not want to debate about this. Its common sense. The penis is not for the anus of another bloke!!! This culture is distroying our younger generation and the human race. Although if you are interested in the same sex just go ahead as no one will stop you.

I am not correlating homosexuality to ANYTHING except having sex with the same gender. Homosexuality is nothing but the most perverse for of sexual perversion, which means the rest belongs to heterosexuals.
i strongly believe in intramarital sex, and i'm opposed to any form outside of that. but what i don't understand is that why gay people are not given the right to get married and stay in the monogamous relationship with his/her partner to prove that they can live their lives in such relationship that heterosexual couples have?
The same reason that child molesters and the kids they molest dont.
Lets be clear, because there is a lot of smoke screens given for this issue. We are not talking about livingwith someone, we are not talking about loving someone, we are talking ONLY about SEX with the same gender, hence the word homoSEXual. People try to say"well they love each other" and all types of nonsense, loving someone does not mean you have sex with them.
And let me conclude once again with the statement, it is not he homosexual person I condemn, it is the homosexual ACT. I have no problem being friends with a homosexual, nor treating them as I would any other person. I find those whom I have encountered to be very nice people and very caring people, but if the topic of having sex comes up, the truth is the truth and we can verify it the same way we verify that an electrical plug goes into an electrical socket. Imagine someone trying to put two plugs together to run thier appliance! D

Peace be upon you bmbmm,
These culture is distroying out younger generation and the human race.
I have to agree with that statement. There are gangs of girls here who seek other young girls to "turn out".
Regarding the psycological factor, why do many homosexuals end up looking like the opposite gender? What I mean is, okay, you are a woman who likes women, but why do you feel the need to look like a man? Its psycological.

Becaue wrong genes are activated and these make them go crazy, its like cocain addiction (just to compare).

this is one of many things that people equalize homosexuality with, that is child molester. some other people would mention beastiality, poligamy, and as such.
if you were not born gay, you would never feel how it's like to be gay. sometimes we can symphatize to what other people feel because we experience it ourselves.
in my opinion, there is a huge difference between homosexuality and child molester.
homosexuality is engaged between two ADULT people, with full consent from both sides.
while child molesting involves children, whose sexual capability has not developed yet, emotionally and psychologically, even biologically. so the sexual engagement that is resulted from this act will involve manipulation from the adult.
so, comparing homosexuality and child molester to me is quite absurd. -
what happened with people who seem to be 'turned' gay is that they had to hide their sexuality for long time, struggling with it, trying to be heterosexual by marrying a woman, and then they just can't escape their nature.
some gay people succeed hiding it all their lives, but many don't.
guys, lets put it this way. if homosexuality was considered a normal thing in this world, and heterosexuality was not, what would you guys feel if you had to hide your sexual orientation towards opposite sex? what would you feel if you had to marry someone who had the same gender as yours?
that's just like what gay people feel in the world where heterosexuality is the one that is considered the norm.
