    Peace

    What are u talking of?

That which I wrote of is what I am talking about.

I was saying that what monks achieve therough their meditative methods can be achieved by a different method, the Yoga of the West.

Ur post seems quite unrelated to what I am talking about here.

It is not unrelated. I'm questioning your position that ordinary people cannot achieve such things as those who live a hermetic life or one filled with austerities.

I am not talking of eastern or western meditation.

You're talking about Eastern meditation where the conditions of the East are necessary for such long hours of constant devotional service.

The example given to me was that of a buddhist monk to which I was responding. Even in the eastern world, an ordinary human being cant sit calm, pain free, through fire.

Buddhist monks adhere to an eastern methodology. Of course, in the east they have their own system of Yoga compared to that of the West, leading to the same Union, but with different methods.

What are u saying btw? That every ordinary human being of the west can sit through fire like that without intensive training and disciplining?

No. I'm saying that the training you are speaking of, again in an Eastern system, is not necessary in the Yoga of the West. Again I present this axiom for you to meditate on.

"He that loses his life shall find it."

      Peace LoteTree,

      Hello LoteTree,

In this world primary use of SEX is for PLEASURE. REPRODUCTION has become secondary and even then a matter of choice.

Yes, I fully support the notion that in our generation, the primary purpose of sex is pleasure (more so with the invention of contraceptives and abortion) and secondary, conception with choice (mainly due to economic effects). The concept of "pleasurable sex" as in technology and culture, has certainly influenced and advanced in younger generation as well throughout the world. What say you?

      Danish, can you elaborate?

      Regards,

Though your question in relation to the subject matter requires a much in-depth and lengthier approach, I shall summarize as naturally as perceived

There is no doubt that technology and cultural epidemics bring about vast changes in people?s lives. When there were no contraceptives and abortionists, or at least not widespread, population doubled and tripled over short span of time along with having several ?wives?. Over the last decade or so, although population is at a gradual rise due to the already huge number, keeping in mind the ergonomics of current life , all of which collectively call for its slow, yet declining overall population growth.

The technology of contraceptives (which include condoms, injections, pills, etc.) along with abortion and immunological removal techniques, vasectomies, sterilizations, ?over-the-head? methods, IUD?s (Intrauterine Device such as diaphragm) and all other practical and natural methods play an important and challenging role in ones sexual drives and as well as parenthood.

Today in our cultures/societies, we openly declare, learn and witness the uncompromising effects taught to, presented and experienced by younger generation (especially teenagers) in schools, media, video, movies, stores, displays/advertisements, parent/child discussions, Internet, cell phones, dating clubs, discos/proms, private parties, narcotics/drugs and seductions, fashion, beauty/appearance, etc., etc. together with today?s lifestyle a family lives in and along with the technology at hand mentioned above, has realistically boosted to becoming sexually oriented with a ?no worry? headlined mindset.

Although the open-minded liberals and the western cultures have and are advancing and adapting these technological and cultural systems, the east and more so the Islamic cultures are not far behind, intertwined with the west, blooming the new buds, hence more bang for the pleasures.

Peace be upon you Peaceful Muslim,

        IF1
So that person was a super hero? I didn't see the usual flowing cape, sorry

U did mention he was a buddhist monk, didnt u?

Yes, does that make him something other than human?

Do u realise what kind of training a person undergoes to become a monk and what kind of conditions he diciplines himself in? This is their life 24*7.

Yes, but it does not follow that one has to do those disciplines to have pain free child birth. The Monk was used as an example to respond to the comment about someone getting thier hand cut off, and that point is now made. Lets get back to the pain free child birth. I am telling you that there are people , IN THE SAME GROUP I STUDY WITH, who have had pain free child birth. All of them were not as successful as others, but there is a way to do it.

        IF1
Getting back to my point, there are people who have learned how to meditate and hav had pain free child birth. If you think you must spend your whole life to learn how to meditate, there is nothing I can say to convince you, you must try it yourself.

Like I said meditation and being calm can ease child birth a bit but wont make it pain free. The uterine contractions by themselves are very painful. And then the baby coming out through a narrow vagina.

As I said, you will have to research for yourself. I take part in this group that does it, but for you, all I can do is tell you about it, you can do the research yourself.

And I did not say one must spend their whole life to learn how to meditate but yes, to reach the level of enlightment that monks do, to attain the spiritual powers they do.. it takes a lot of commitment, disciplining, focus, devotion and time to it.

Sure, but there are many things that can be done before getting to that level after a short time of discipline.

          Peace be upon you Enquirer,

Peace idol-free and all. If you want re-read some of your recent posts to me and others. Please understand the 'subjectivity' of your posts
          .

Please give me a clear example. You could be right, I am not working towards objectivity as all of us should be doing, but I will need you to point out exactly what you see as subjective.

(subjectivity is fine, but at least admit you are doing it) Just because you cannot prove the existense or non-existense of muhammed doesnt make him non-existant,thus your theory is un-verified and/or subjective.(and i dont know if you would class your unsureness of his existance as verified knowledge or a fact) .Why dont you say i dont have enough knowledge to make a judgement or i dont know. If i have mis-understood any of your statements i do apologise.
          peace and respect.

My position , which has been stated by me over and over, is that there is NO PROOF AT ALL to confirm or deny the person "Muhammad Ibn Abdullah". The God says that we should not go after that which we have no knowledge. Therefore the God will not tell us to believe in blind faith. Further, if one was just given the "Koran", and comes across the word "muhammadun", it is an assumption that this is a literal person. Especially when another verse says "His name will be AHMAD".

Peace idol-free. One of the things i found subjective was when you imply or say homo-sexuality is unnatural or repulsive. When clearly some homo-sexual people consider it natural and attractive. This is clearly a case of one persons opinion versus anothers. You cannot objectively state that a homsexual who enjoys his status feels the same distaste for his activities as you. I myself am happily married and hetro-sexual,the idea of me personally being attracted to a man is distasteful, but this is me and not someone who is gay. Its like saying objectively the natural thing to eat is potatoes, not beans. I must admit that although i feel there are some permanent truths, many truths are relative or subjective. Anyway i respect a lot of your posts and look forward to them. Maybe its hard to get our points across in type fully, or we have different definitions of subjective/objective. Anyhow you are my brother in humanity and peace.
Peace, and i hope im coming across in a respectful way?

Peace idol-free. On the subject of muhammed. If just one person in history has witnessed a man called muhammed then your theory becomes subjective. I respect your decision to say it cannot be verified and so is not knowledge, but other people have different criteria for verification.(and so it becomes dependent on the individual and so subjective.) How can i verify an extinct species of animal existed? Someone who has seen this species (who is currently alive) can confirm it for me,whether i choose to verify or not is up to me and so subjective.
I have not seen footage of the monk you mentioned, but with further analysis i could verify it,but not first hand, and so it is subjective whether i believe it or not. Hope im making sense. ! peace and respect.
ps;i do believe that the monk you mentioned could do what he did in protest-i verify it with intuition.(verification does not have to be 100%?).

                Peace "The Nabi" and "idolfree",
Take a look at these verses
Their beautiful mates were never touched by any human or jinn.
                In them are beautiful mates.
                Confined in the tents.
No human ever touched them, nor a jinn.
Thus in heaven we would have companions to have sexual pleasure with. Hence we can conclude that sex is primarily for pleasure. GOD Bless!

                  Peace "LT",

But modern medicine can give a women a painless birth these days quite easily. So need for a women to be a monk to have a painless childbirth and meditation in childbirth for most women is not practical so please let it go.

                  Regards,

JK- Now allow me to make an important point here. 1st of all obviously youll have to admit that this technology was inspired by GOD and HE Alone wanted it to be in this time(if our gneration is really the 1st one to ever receive it). Now if this is the case then wouldnt this go in the Bibles favor that the women were responsible for all blunder and therefreo ahd to give birth in pain and it was not till after Jesus came that now GOD is finally removing His punishment from them? Think abt that one. GOD Bless!

peace all. I just wanted to say my wife gave birth just over 6 months ago.Which i witnessed first hand.(i recommend all men to witness their childrens birth-awesome and humbling experience) My wife is a tough cookie.(but soft at heart)...
But,if you think that was painless, i suggest you be re-born as a woman.
(Enough respect for what women go through in pregnancy and in child-rearing.)

It is unnatural based on OBJECTIVE observation. How is that subjective? The DESIGN proves the purpose. That is objective.

When clearly some homo-sexual people consider it natural and attractive. This is clearly a case of one persons opinion versus anothers.

Yes, they are dealing with FEELINGS (subjective), I am dealing with form and function (objective), see the difference?

You cannot objectively state that a homsexual who enjoys his status feels the same distaste for his activities as you. The above is based on "feelings", my position revolves around teh form and function.

Anyway i respect a lot of your posts and look forward to them. Maybe its hard to get our points across in type fully, or we have different definitions of subjective/objective.

Much respect to the woman, but did your wife get any instruction in pain free child birth? You know, in meditation, you are suppossed to slow the breathing down, unlike the LAMAS breathing most women are taught. If you observe someone getting emotional, thier breath gets short and choppy, like LAMAS. This is opposite of what needs to be done.

The first thing i wanted to remove from your mind, if that is the case, was that "modern medicine" is NOT the work of humans though it may appear to be so. NO, everything is controlled by GOD and this is what most people do not realize. This means that GOD wanted it to happen now. So from this the Christians can then conclude that finally GOD wants to relieve women after a long history of punishment since, as they claim, she was responsible for the fall of Adam. Get it now? GOD Bless!

Coping with pain is not to be confused with not feeling the pain. Did anyone verify from the monk that he felt no pain?

Control pain of child birth with meditation-yes it will make an excellent modern fairy story.
Many have tried this method only to suffer severe pain and disappointment-as there are many misguided souls who believe this type of method works and convince many poor women of its merit and as it inevitably fails in practice it leaves many women feeling that somehow they have failed some great test of motherhood.
                                regards

Coping with pain is not to be confused with not feeling the pain.

                                  Yes that is for sure.

Did anyone verify from the monk that he felt no pain?

The monk must have verified to this death wink

Control pain of child birth with meditation-yes it will make an excellent modern fairy story.

Yes will you be writing it? wink

Many have tried this method only to suffer severe pain and disappointment-as there are many misguided souls who believe this type of method works and convince many poor women of its merit and as it inevitably fails in practice it leaves many women feeling that somehow they have failed some great test of motherhood.
                                  regards

I say this method is not practical for everyone.

                                  Regards,

Take a look at these verses
Their beautiful mates were never touched by any human or jinn.
                                    In them are beautiful mates.
                                    Confined in the tents.
No human ever touched them, nor a jinn.
Thus in heaven we would have companions to have sexual pleasure with. Hence we can conclude that sex is primarily for pleasure. GOD Bless!

jonny_k, you forgot one little detail - yes, according to this description there are such creatures in heaven. Now, where in the Koran does it say that they are (a) female, (b) human, (c) endowed with sexual organs? Oh, and if you do find such a place, could you show me where it say that you will actually be allowed to have sex with them? Maybe they're only there for show?

I didn't say sex is bad... I'm just saying that lets not just to conclusions about what we'll have in heaven... we're making lots of assumptions that lead to conclusions we like, instead of just holding to the text.
