peace savage carrot. My comment was a general one,not addressed specifically to thegod. Why do you insist on telling me what to do? My comments on the verses include different possible translations, and any you or others can come up with.If your entitled to an opinion on what a verse means, then so am i. I notice you have answered very little, and your not quoting many verses. Look to yourself before you start asking others to do things. D

Getting testy are we? For one in any decent debate especially one about inconsistencies in the quran we go to the source text, comprende? Thus, while posting an inconsistency we post the original text, literal if you must obviously. Otherwise, when someone goes to the source and explains what it means you scream blue murder. Changing texts! Versions of interpretation! (Not that that has anything to do with inconsistency in the quran, but it's what you say).

My insistence is on a good substantial debate with evidence for all to see and if you recall, you were too lazy to post the verses yourself, so who posted them? Three guesses. So look to yourself, your comments are just not holding up.

Don't forget the crux of the issue. Contradictions in the quran. Please, let's stick to them. Next thing we hear will be, God is an idol (wasn't there some poster who said something along those lines?)...no, your mind is an idol, hell whatever you know is an idol. Let's just talk about contradictions in a book which 'claims' to come from God okay? Not the phone/math book line of reasoning please.

Haha that was really funny sister lol lol

Enquirer, I'm preparing a long Quran comment as a reply to your first comment in this thread, will be back in a little while

Peace savage carrot. Why should i get testy? Your intellectual input is quite low. My comments are not holding up to you,but i see very little refutation, just posturing. I have not seen much good substantial debate from you...Just defensiveness...And your right,i dont want to literally post every verse word for word,im sure there are other people who are more capable of doing that, and im sure some of them know which verses im referring too. If your not too lazy yourself why dont you post the verses?
Or are you all talk and no action? D

yes...u said new technology can determine what is in the womb and called it an inconsistency with literal interpretations..the text of the quran does not reflect the inconsistency u claimed D

            enquirer wrote
What about the new pictures we have on an ultrasound of babies in the womb? Can you see an inconsistency with the literal interpretations?

            enquirer wrote
How far will you go to prove that there are no inconsistencies? Do you have any criteria for what is a contradiction? The problem if you keep reconciling texts,is that you can change them any time you perceive a contradiction...is that honest?

that would not be honest...but u have to determine inconsistencies and contradictions according to a standard other than ur logical self...ur intentions might be alright..but ur understanding as a standard would definitely be insufficient...especially if v really intend to determine the status of the text!

that said the verse does not claim god alone knows what is in the womb!

further even my interpretation does not 'reconcile' the text by means of chicanery....its perfectly valid and in no way contradicts the message of the quran elsewhere

personally much of what is said against text of religion a by followers of religion b i discard if the text can reconcile with itself without any twisting and distorting...and a and b can be any 2 religions on the face of this earth! -)
            nice talking to u and others...as well as readin....do keep the criticism comin if u genuinely feel so...but i guess i will be leaving shortly! =;

You really are a character. Coming from you any output would be appreciated leaving aside intellect. If you don't agree with someone, you start giving their posts (and them by connection) thesauristic abuse. I did post the verses, pity you are still hanging on to your flimsy excuses... other people more capable. You got that right.

I did also state that if god is not the only one to know whats in the wombs, then what is the point of the verse mentioning or emphasising it? Also i said some interpret it to mean only god knows whats in the wombs,i was not saying that i necessarily agree with that interpretation...
If our goal is to be rational,open-minded,tolerant and honest then i see no problem in this dialogue. take it easy.

                    peace all,

14 4. We sent not a messenger except (to teach) IN THE LANGUAGE OF HIS (OWN) PEOPLE, in order to make (things) clear to them. Now Allah leaves straying those whom He pleases and guides whom He pleases and He is Exalted in power, full of Wisdom.

                    1. For me, I have been commanded to serve the LORD OF THIS CITY, Him Who has sanctified it and to Whom (belong) all things and I am commanded to be of those who bow in Islam to Allah's Will,-

                    2. By the Book that makes things clear
433.We have made it QUR?AN IN ARABIC, that YE MAY BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND (and learn wisdom).

12 2. We have sent it down as an ARABIC QUR'AN, in order THAT YE MAY learn wisdom.

42 7. And thus have We revealed to you AN ARABIC QURAN, that you may WARN the MOTHER CITY and those around it, and that you may give warning of the day of gathering together wherein is no doubt; a party shall be in the garden and (another) party in the burning fire.

                    1. Thus have We sent this down - AN ARABIC QUR'AN - and explained therein in detail some of the warnings, in order that they may fear Allah, or that it may cause their remembrance (of Him).

                    2. Had We sent this AS A QUR'AN (IN THE LANGUAGE) OTHER THAN ARABIC, THEY WOULD HAVE SAID "Why are not its verses explained in detail? What! (a Book) not in Arabic and (a Messenger an Arab?" Say "It is a Guide and a Healing to those who believe; and for those who believe not, there is a deafness in their ears, and it is blindness in their (eyes) They are (as it were) being called from a place far distant!"

                    3. Had We revealed it to any of THE NON-ARABS,

                    4. And had he recited it to them, THEY WOULD NOT HAVE BELIEVED IN IT.

the THEM, YE or THEY in the above verses are the native arabs who lived at that time and not us, according to verses 26198/199 if God had send a non arabic messenger, the arabs would have never believed in it??? so its a little confusing why it is expected from non arabs to believe in an arabic book, from a to z without even raising an eyebro? a book revealed 1400 years ago, which is not explained to us by the prophet himself in our language, but by men who translate it and interpret it and then want us to believe that every word is from God himself ? shouldnt we have the same rights similiar to those of the ancient arabs? so please take it easy on those who are a bit skeptical and keep in mind the verses 26198/199.

                    peace.

                      Peace everyone!

Thank you enquirer for your comments -)

However I realized one thing, and I want to share it, by commenting the quote below.

Next thing we hear will be, God is an idol (wasn't there some poster who said something along those lines?)...no, your mind is an idol, hell whatever you know is an idol.

                      Dear Savage_carrot,
I understand your concern, but you have made me realize one thing.

By 'you' in the coming sentences, I'm not referring to a spefic person. I just like to use the word -)

If by 'idol' we mean something or someone, that we obey or trust, without question. Then we cannot escape idolazation. There are assumptions that we blindly believe, and these assumptions become our idols. We trust them, believe them and act upon them. Just like any other idol-worshipper does for his idol. Today, most people would believe most professionals blindly. We blindly believe doctors; why do you take vaccinations? Have you verified their contents? Most people can't or won't; so the they don't. And what about architects? How do you know that your house is safe to reside in? What makes you think that it wont implode and kill you? Assumptions, based on thoughts from a third party.

If you think about it, you're putting your life on the line, trusting the architect's, doctor's etc. have you ever thought about it?
Doesn't this make you an idol-worshipper? You do the fit the description Following someone blindly.

My point should be clear We cannot escape idolazation; if by 'idol' we mean something or someone, that we obey or trust, without question.

Why am I preaching about it this? Bcause it makes (should make) you realize that each of us has a source we confide in. Some have scriptures, some have professionals, scholars, and some their own mind. And since no person knows the absolute truth, everyone is equally close to it(truth). That should be hard to swallow, but think it over.

Now Enquirer, my message to you is that while you're criticizing peoples trust in their sources, you are also criticizing the very same trust you have in yourself. Did you notice?

For you, you have the same trust in your mind, that the ones you criticize have for their sources. Do you see? Both of you seek guidance. There is no difference.

You may argue that the mind is more trustworthy, and you'll be refuted in a flash by valid arguments based on how easily the brain can be fooled.
The other side can argue that the scripture is more trustworthy since it's from god, and they'll get refuted by equally valid arguments based on that the quran has come to us from a place 1400 years back by a man claiming to be a prophet.

Each of the arguments make clear that both options are equally risky and uncertain.

Based on this I believe that it's pointless to criticize others faith or choice in the above alternatives. What we chose will be a personal choice. The first equally logic as the second. What should be criticized however, is whether your belief in one option, makes you blind for the other. That is to be criticized. It is now that we are really being idol-worshippers. When we listen to one source, and ignore all other sources without consideration.

My, that was a lot of text just for one simple point. I apologize if it seems irrelevant or unnecessary.

                      Nadeem.

Nothing that you have said really bothers me because i can see your comments are not very deep, and you want to subjugate your mind to a literal, dogmatic, narrow interpretation of the quran.
Again, I just quoted a passage, and again you showed exactly what you see and what you are - dogmatic and narrow. Tsk tsk. Don't take it personally enquirer, if you interpret those verses differently, then all should be well, yes? No need to get so emotional, open-minded sir.

You said your glad im not the judge of belief, didnt you judge me by quoting surah 109 to me?
Quoting a surah is judgmental? Weren't you the one who started the thread with "you guys", "you people"?... who's judging who?

It's funny, a self proclaimed "open-minded", "tolerant" person who doesn't act like one... deeds are better than all the energy you put in the posts! Take it easy

                            Peace nadeem,

                            Dear Savage_carrot,
I understand your concern, but you have made me realize one thing. If by 'idol' we mean something or someone, that we obey or trust, without question. Yes, it is a problem for some people especially when they will not take the effort to understand and research what is going on around them. Sometimes the fault extends both ways, when a person is deliberately deceiving another and the other believes it without question. Recently a relative of mine had her 2 year old undergo two operations to insert a tube in her lung. The circumstances were deplorable. This person never asked or informed herself as to the procedures involved in this, never read the medical literature. We were all up in arms about it. Scott Peck had a theory that all 'evil' stems from laziness. I might not believe in all he says but a great deal of harm is inflicted to others and to themselves by their laziness/unwillingness to put in effort.

If you think about it, you're putting your life on the line, trusting the architect's, doctor's etc. have you ever thought about it?
Doesn't this make you an idol-worshipper? You do the fit the description Following someone blindly.

Indeed, sometimes however based on your knowledge and the limits imposed on you by them (what you can conceivably acquire), there is no other way. Unless one were to research everything to the nth degree and thus be a master of all trades. You do see how impossible that is? One does what they can to the best of their ability. It does not make one an idol worshipper if they do that? That is just making it too extreme a view especially when you can know your limitations and what you can acquire realistically?

My point should be clear We cannot escape idolazation; if by 'idol' we mean something or someone, that we obey or trust, without question.

Most of us do not escape idolization because of our laziness to acquire knowledge which has limitations. Beyond that, trusting God is not idolization, even if we cannot verify all His concepts completely. We can try to a limited degree and succeed maybe to our own satisfaction and verification criteria. There is a level of trust involved, that is our iman/trust/faith. What God is asking us to do imo is to put in that effort into acquiring knowledge and this cannot be taken to an extreme obviously. This applies to everything.

I believe everyone is capable of being equally close to the truth. That does not mean in reality they are equally close. Everyone makes their own judgements regarding what they consider truth even if the truth is universal and/or a particular way (e.g. there can only be one God, right morals etc). In the end we will find out how close we really were. Unless of course one does not believe in the final judgement that is nigh

                              Peace 'enquirer'

I just went through this entire thread and am glad to read some great stuff from your end, begging for sincere answers rather than twists and twinky doodles.

peace all. What about the quran saying that allah doesnt change his ways or laws,(or sunnat.) and then jesus being born without a father,a stick turning into a snake, the splitting of the sea into two firm mountains, jesus speaking as a baby, fire not burning abraham etc...
All creatures are supposed to do sujood to allah alone, and yet allah asked the angels to do sujood to adam?
Allah never commanding indecency, but then abraham being asked to sacrifice an innocent son? If you take these literally you make the book contradictory and inconsistent... Please explain these verses...

Am surprised that your post above carrying much grounds to your topic seems to have tossed out, unnoticed. Anyhow, here's one for the road and several more to come as we travel along

                              415
                              Khalifa
Those who commit adultery among your women, you must have four witnesses against them, from among you. If they do bear witness, then you shall keep such women in their homes until they die, or until GOD creates an exit for them.
                              Yusuf Ali
If any of your women are guilty of lewdness, Take the evidence of four (Reliable) witnesses from amongst you against them; and if they testify, confine them to houses until death do claim them, or God ordain for them some (other) way.
                              Pickthal
As for those of your women who are guilty of lewdness, call to witness four of you against them. And if they testify (to the truth of the allegation) then confine them to the houses until death take them or (until) Allah appoint for them a way (through new legislation).

                              1. Who knows, in this case, the adulteresses may live longer than others until old age catches them in confinement. But hang on, lets see what happens to them next.
                              2. Four witnesses needed for lewdness of adulteress. What happens when witnesses fall short of four (3 or 2 or 1)?
                              3. What is the punishment for men (adulterer) in this case? Perhaps the answer is given elsewhere in a twisted fashion (see below).

                              242
                              Khalifa
The adulteress and the adulterer you shall whip each of them a hundred lashes. Do not be swayed by pity from carrying out GOD's law, if you truly believe in GOD and the Last Day. And let a group of believers witness their penalty.
                              Yusuf Ali
The woman and the man guilty of adultery or fornication,- flog each of them with a hundred stripes Let not compassion move you in their case, in a matter prescribed by God, if ye believe in God and the Last Day and let a party of the Believers witness their punishment.
                              Pickthal
The adulterer and the adulteress, scourge ye each one of them (with) a hundred stripes. And let not pity for the twain withhold you from obedience to Allah, if ye believe in Allah and the Last Day. And let a party of believers witness their punishment.

                              1. Isn?t the punishment for adulteresses (women) in 415 to confine them at homes until death do them away OR is it 100 lashes as per 242?
                              2. Giving 100 lashes as per 242 may very likely not save their lives of either of them, but saves the adulteress?s life from getting beaten up in public as per 415?
                              3. The demonstration of punishment prescribed in 242 will surely inflict bodily injury, mental deprivation and societal/family trauma but rather hushed out in 415, Why?
                              4. How many witnesses are needed on this case?

                              425
                              Khalifa
Those among you who cannot afford to marry free believing women, may marry believing slave women. GOD knows best about your belief, and you are equal to one another, as far as belief is concerned. You shall obtain permission from their guardians before you marry them, and pay them their due dowry equitably. They shall maintain moral behavior, by not committing adultery, or having secret lovers. Once they are freed through marriage, if they commit adultery, their punishment shall be half of that for the free women. Marrying a slave shall be a last resort for those unable to wait. To be patient is better for you. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful.
                              Yusuf Ali
If any of you have not the means wherewith to wed free believing women, they may wed believing girls from among those whom your right hands possess And God hath full knowledge about your faith. Ye are one from another Wed them with the leave of their owners, and give them their dowers, according to what is reasonable They should be chaste, not lustful, nor taking paramours when they are taken in wedlock, if they fall into shame, their punishment is half that for free women. This (permission) is for those among you who fear sin; but it is better for you that ye practise self-restraint. And God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.
                              Pickthal
And whoso is not able to afford to marry free, believing women, let them marry from the believing maids whom your right hands possess. Allah knoweth best (concerning) your faith. Ye (proceed) one from another; so wed them by permission of their folk, and give unto them their portions in kindness, they being honest, not debauched nor of loose conduct. And if when they are honourably married they commit lewdness they shall incur the half of the punishment (prescribed) for free women (in that case). This is for him among you who feareth to commit sin. But to have patience would be better for you. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

                              1. Now the adulteress?s punishment is halved because she is married. Okayyy. But halved as per 415 or 242 or what?
                              2. What about the married adulterer?s punishement?
                              3. How many witnesses are needed to this case?

                              3330
                              Khalifa
O wives of the prophet, if any of you commits a gross sin, the retribution will be doubled for her. This is easy for GOD to do.
                              Yusuf Ali
O Consorts of the Prophet! If any of you were guilty of evident unseemly conduct, the Punishment would be doubled to her, and that is easy for God.
                              Pickthal
O ye wives of the Prophet! Whosoever of you committeth manifest lewdness, the punishment for her will be doubled, and that is easy for Allah.

                              This is a tough one.

                              1. In this case the punishment for adulteress is doubled, but by which standards/rule. Is it doubled as per 415 or 242 or 425?
                              2. Who and how many witnesses shall we bring to this scenario, knowing that a prophet?s wife is being exposed of adultery?
                              3. Imagine what painful emotions and disgrace this would bring to the community, prophet?s own family members and followers and to top it up, his preachings?
                              4. Would the punishment be same (whatever that is) for prophet?s divorcees?

Not only are these verses in total contradiction, but inconsistent and incoherent.

Finally, what?s the prescription for gays and lisbians retribution? Are there any standards inherited on them? Are any standards described above valid, witnessed and declared/honored today, other than a few shreds of jahiliah seen once in a blue moon, withering away.

                                peace all,

Why this inconsistency? Is this because of translation or a memory lapse?

                                Right hand or back

                                Sura-84 (Al-Inshikak)

3?And when the earth is spread out
7?Then whoso is given his account in his right hand
8?He truly will receive an easy reckoning
10?But whoso is given his account behind his back,
                                11?He surely will invoke destruction
12?And be thrown to scorching fire.

                                or

20?Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning.
21?Then he will be in blissful state
                                22?In a high Garden
25?But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say Oh, would that I had not been given my book
29?My power hath gone from me.
30?(It will be said) Take him and fetter him

It leaves out nothing small or great but takes account thereof!" They will find all that they did placed before them and not one will thy Lord treat with

                                  Peace agent,

Are you really bringing in contradictions/inconsistencies?

                                  1. The ones receiving it in their right will be the ones with easy reckoning. The ones recieving it with/in their left will have a hard time. So what if the ones receiving it in their left will be given the account behind their back? The way it would be an inconsistency is if the lefts and rights were mixed up which aren't.

                                  2. Then he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) heavy and But he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) light.

I keep telling people to post literal verses.

                                  1016
So as for who his weights became heavy.

                                  1017
So he is in (an) acceptable/approved life/quality of life.

                                  1018
And but who his weights were reduced/lightened

                                  1019
                                  So his origin (is) Hell/destruction

                                  23102
So who his weights/measures became heavy, so those are the successful/winners.

                                  23103
And who his weights/measures were reduced/lightened, so those (are) those who lost themselves in Hell immortally/eternally.

                                  So...what is the contradiction?

                                  1. 1849
And The Book was put/laid/raised , so you see the criminals/sinners afraid/cautious from what (is) in it, and they say "Oh our calamity/scandal , what to that The Book , (it) does not leave out small/little and nor big/great except it counted/computed it ?" And they found what they made/did present, and your Lord does not cause injustice/oppression (to) anyone.

                                  6925
And but who was given/brought his Book/judgment with his left (hand), so he says "I wish I would have not been given my book/judgment ."

                                  Can you see the difference?

The above verses do not talk about any weighing of deeds? They simply say that the ones who will be given their records in their right hands will be in a blissful state and those who will be given their records in their left hands will be thrown into hell.

                                    or light or heavy

103-But those whose balance is light will be those who have lost their souls; in Hell will they abide

                                    Scenario 2.
No right hand or left hand mentioned in the above verses and they say whose balance of good deeds will be heavy there is good pleasure and satisfaction for them. But for those whose balance of deeds will be light will end up in a bottom less pit.

                                    Right hand or back

                                    Sura-84 (Al-Inshikak)
1?When the heaven is split asunder
3?And when the earth is spread out
7?Then whoso is given his account in his right hand
8?He truly will receive an easy reckoning
10?But whoso is given his account behind his back,
                                    11?He surely will invoke destruction
12?And be thrown to scorching fire.

                                    Scenario 3.
Whoso is given his account in the right hand will receive easy reckoning. But whoso is given his account behind his back, will be thrown to scorching fire.

                                    or placed before you

                                    Surah 18 Al-Kahf
49?And the Book (of Deeds) will be placed (before you); and thou wilt see the sinful in great terror because of what is (recorded) therein; they will say "Ah! woe to us! what a book is this! It leaves out nothing small or great but takes account thereof!" They will find all that they did placed before them and not one will thy Lord treat with injustice.

                                    Scenario 4.
No weighing of accounts or left hand/right hand/back. Simply the book will be placed in front of them.

Ok so now this is the scenario I have understood? The Book (of Deeds) will be placed before them; and they will see the sinful in great terror because of what is (recorded) therein, then the deeds will be weighed and whose deeds are heavy will be handed their records in their right hands , as for those whose deeds will be light will be handed their records in their left hands
Regarding giving their account behind their back? According to the commentary by ?yousaf ali? on 8410

?The wicked are given the Record in their left hand. But their hands will not be free. Sin will tie their hands behind their back and thus they can only receive their Records in their left hand, behind their back.?

                                    1. And We have indeed made the Qur'an EASY TO UNDERSTAND ? ???

sc-Are you really bringing in contradictions/inconsistencies?

                                      Scenario 1.
The above verses do not talk about any weighing of deeds? They simply say that the ones who will be given their records in their right hands will be in a blissful state and those who will be given their records in their left hands will be thrown into hell.

For one, start using the literal translation of verses so that you know what is actually present in the text and not inserted. www.yaqb.org is good.

Now what is the inconsistency with the verses? That weighing and recording is not given in the same place for people who prefer to read one sura instead of the book? Does the/their record not indicate whether their balance of deeds is heavy or light?

                                      Scenario 2.
No right hand or left hand mentioned in the above verses and they say whose balance of good deeds will be heavy there is good pleasure and satisfaction for them. But for those whose balance of deeds will be light will end up in a bottom less pit.

                                      Already addressed above.

                                      Scenario 3.
Whoso is given his account in the right hand will receive easy reckoning. But whoso is given his account behind his back, will be thrown to scorching fire.

Once again unless you can show us if the lefts or rights are messed up there is NO contradiction.

                                      Scenario 4.
No weighing of accounts or left hand/right hand/back. Simply the book will be placed in front of them.

I should once again repeat the first statement but there is really no point. 'The Book'!

According to the commentary by ?yousaf ali? on 8410

The only problem you have here is behind their back? Do I need to repeat that there is no inconsistency unless they suddenly recieve it in their rights instead of the left? Secondly their deeds are already weighed. Thirdly, please do rely on the original literal text and not commentary.

                                      1. And We have indeed made the Qur'an EASY TO UNDERSTAND ?

I am at a loss to explain why its so difficult unless there is some other motivation?

is there any other appropriate word

Sure, but I won't post it here.

                                      Peace.

Peace all. Because people insist on a literal and 'perfect' interpretation of the quran they leave their book open to contradictions and inconsistencies...If only they viewed their book as a source of potential symbolic wisdom, and not an unverified, literal, perfect idol, then they might actually get to follow god...and not just the quran.
I will start with the first contradiction; 478 and 479. Is evil from god or us? The literal translation is contradictory....Explain please.

                                        Hello enquirer

Obviously you have acted as a typical enemy of islam (not saying you are) you just acted as them by mentioning a contradiction, then ignoring all the responses by the brothers and sisters as well posting more alleged contradiction, if you are really looking for answers then I advice you to be a bit organised and please don?t confuse the hell out of us, and I mean by us (the true Muslims) who submitted to Allah and His words.

Obviously you lack the knowledge of the Quran despite you stated you read it a few times in two languages including Arabic, It seems the veil is still on your eyes, this veil does not make you blind though, it only makes you arrogant and see only what you want to see, you claim you have an open mind but I do believe that you have a very closed mind at least to Allah (The God), with Humans though you work hard to to show that you are open minded, therefore humans for you are more important than God hence you are a clear cut Mushrik, sorry, , In addition to that you are confused because I found you in many occasions that you lack common sense, for example this very thread you are telling us, here is a clear cut contradiction, well before we look at this allegation I need to explain a bit of common sense to you, if you accuse someone with something, you need to have compelling evidences that will convict that person beyond doubt, this is what the human law says not God, i.e. you can?t claim it is a contradiction until you succeed in proving as such, up to then it will stay an unfounded and ignorant statement and this is what I will prove to you right here right now, i.e. my job is to prove to every one that your statement is doubtful and has no merit, and if there is the slightest of doubt then it has to be for the benefit of the accused and the accusation should be thrown in the rubbish bin, this is very important because your allegation is huge, it is simply suggesting that 1.8 billion humans are dumb, as well all prophets are a bunch of fake liars and deceivers, therefore the true believers will not take what you say slightly as well I hope you do the same by not taking what you promote slightly.

Now let me start my defence case with a very simple logic.

If we have a law in hand that says if you do that then you have to be punished as such, the law does not really force itself on people, rather a bunch of humans called Judges are in charge of interpreting then forcing that law, therefore they are the ultimate ones for these laws to be implemented or even ignored, a judge can easily let someone off based on whatever ground he/she may come up with even if it violates the common sense, this in effect means the judges have a mighty power indeed, they can convict or let off someone that may be a real criminal.

Now was it really the Judges who caused the criminal to be convicted?, of course they are, however their decision was not really caused by them rather by the criminal self, i.e. if the criminal didn?t violate the law, the judges will never be able to convict him/her then force punishment upon him

So we have two different actions here

                                        1. A self harm inflicted by the self (violating the law and making ourselves vulnerable to be punished by judges)
                                        2. The Judges punishment that was caused by the previous action

Action 2 can?t happen on its own, it needs action 1 to be fulfilled before action 2 can take place

Therefore you have to agree that the harm (the punishment) was caused by the self (Action 1), and if no judges exist then no harm can be caused to that criminal , i.e. while Action 1 is the main cause to be harmed, the harm itself can?t happen unless we have action 2, i.e. action 2 is the ultimate finale for a chain of events that lead to it, without that chain of events action 2 will never happen

The above logic is simply a human logic, i.e. from our perspective as far as the common sense can tell us, if we consider God in the picture then an important subject must be considered within the whole picture, this subject is simply we have been forced to take on some serious test(s), this serious test(s) consist of a main test and many small ones during the entire life of any human, therefore when it comes to God the above logic discussed earlier will be slightly different

                                        1. it will work exactly the same, i.e. if you do something wrong in life you will be held responsible and a punishment must be incurred, this will differ from a person to another as they struggle through their test(s) in the day to day life, for example if I stole something like a car, then later on I may be driving this car and make an accident then become disabled, I saw this sort of divine justice happening to myself and many others around me all my life, there is no question about its reality, it is us who just can?t see it

                                        2. In addition to the above, if you don?t do anything wrong (violate a law) and just say you are a good believer in Allah, then your belief must be tested, this test is not a consequence of a bad deed, rather a consequence of a good deed, this test most likely is something bad, something we call misfortune

I.e. every human will be held hostage according to their actions, this is actually what the Quran says exactly

Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds

                                        (3

-> The Arabic word ?Rahina? actually means ?Hostage?, but this is not a case of an innocent hostage rather will be (held) a hostage for its deeds, this deeds covers the good and bad ones, now we have Action 1 in hand (Its deeds), and being held a hostage for these deeds is action 2 according to the simple logic I explained earlier, while the harm to ourselves is caused by us violating Allah laws, the punishment still has to come from Him, without Him, there will be no punishment even if the bad deeds has been committed, and again He will not punish anyone unless that one violates the law.

Now let?s consider another logic, imagine I have a desire to kill someone, I made a plan to achieve my desire, but will it really happen as I desired?, the Quran tells us another story indeed

But ye will not, except as Allah wills; for Allah is full of Knowledge and Wisdom.

                                        (30)

-> I.e if my will was to kill, this will can?t happen unless Allah?s will allow it to happen, the evil was coming from me but must be approved by Allah for it to happen, how it is managed?, well, the answer is known by Allah only because He is ? full of Knowledge and Wisdom.?, exactly as 7630 told us about Him, i.e. it does not happen randomly rather there is complete knowledge and wisdom behind it and all is part of the test(s)

This ultimate will of Allah is not only about the desire to do bad things, but the desire to do good deeds as well, to truly believe in Allah is the best and ultimate deed and yet can not be allowed unless the will of Allah allows it to happen

27- This is naught else than a reminder unto creation,

28- Unto whoever among you wills to go straight

29- And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation.

                                        (27)
                                        (2
                                        (29)

-> See, even our desire to go straight can?t happen unless Allah wills, again this is not randomly done, rather with full knowledge and wisdom in why it has to be that way, it is all part of the test(s) anyway and Allah uses the good and bad to test us during this life, our actions to these tests will definitely have a consequence from Allah side, but we are still a great player in the whole picture

Every soul shall have a taste of death and We test you by evil and by good by way of trial. to Us must ye return.

                                        (35)

-> See how the above verse started with a concrete fact about Death, this is the most fitnah and bad thing can happen to a human indeed, but the main message from the verse is ? We test you by evil and by good by way of trial?, these trials will have many consequences as we react to it then the ultimate consequence comes ? to Us must ye return.?

This test by good and evil will result in actions by the humans, these actions by the humans are the test results and require a verdict because it is a test from the first place, therefore the humans have a major part of what will happen to them as a consequence of their test results

If any one does a righteous deed, it ensures to the benefit of his own soul; if he does evil, it works against (his own soul). In the end will ye (all) be brought back to your Lord.

                                        (15)

-> See, ?If any one does a righteous deed, it ensures to the benefit of his own soul; if he does evil, it works against (his own soul).?, then we will return to the ultimate Judge ? In the end will ye (all) be brought back to your Lord.?, which is the ultimate consequence to our existence

                                        And again

Whoever does good, it is for his own soul, and whoever does evil, it is against it; and your Lord is not in the least unjust to the servants.

                                        (46)

-> i.e. the humans have a major role in what will happen to them as a consequence to their own actions, these actions yet has to be allowed by Allah?s Will according to His full knowledge and wisdom, it is very important that some consequences happen to the humans in this life before the ultimate consequence in the JD, the importance is simply to protect the earth from a disaster if the bad guys go freely for their evil deeds without some sort of force to repel them, this force might be Allah making another human to punish that bad guy

Those who have been expelled from their homes without a just cause except that they say Our Lord is Allah. And had there not been Allah's repelling some people by others, certainly there would have been pulled down cloisters and churches and synagogues and mosques in which Allah's name is much remembered; and surely Allah will help him who helps His cause; most surely Allah is Strong, Mighty.

                                        (40)

-> See, ? And had there not been Allah's repelling some people by others?, this is what must happen, ? certainly there would have been pulled down cloisters and churches and synagogues and mosques in which Allah's name is much remembered?, can you also see the consequence caused by Allah for a good deed? ? and surely Allah will help him who helps His cause?, it is all about trials bro, this is why we have been created from the first place.

                                        To be continued....

We have seen that the trials can be good or bad, here is an example of two good trials

Your riches and your children may be but a trial but in the Presence of Allah, is the highest, Reward.

                                          (15)

-> Most humans if not all think that having plenty of money and a lot of children are blessings, while I agree it can be but in this life everything is still a test, what I found amazing is, the Quran agrees with us that money and children are the most desirable to have in life, this may cause us to be blind and not see the trial within

Wealth and children are an ornament of the life of the world. But the good deeds which endure are better in thy Lord's sight for reward, and better in respect of hope.

                                          (46)

-> But Allah still reminded us not to be blinded by wealth and children ?But the good deeds which endure are better in thy Lord's sight for reward, and better in respect of hope?

Our actions against each other is actually one of the main trials

And We have not sent before you any messengers but they most surely ate food and went about in the markets; and We have made some of you a trial for others; will you bear patiently? And your Lord is ever Seeing.

                                          (20)

-> See, ? We have made some of you a trial for others?

Now the trial (good or bad) for those who do not hurt other humans and claim to be believers is also required to expose their hypocrisy if they are

2- Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, "We believe", and that they will not be tested?

3- We did test those before them, and Allah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false.

                                          (2)
                                          (3)

-> A few important notes in the above verses

                                          1. ?Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, ?We believe?, and that they will not be tested?
                                          2. Humans are equal in that test ? We did test those before them?
                                          3. The test is required for ? and Allah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false?

Now, after a few tests by Allah the hypocrisy of those who claim to be believers will be exposed to everyone

11- There are among men some who serve Allah, as it were on the verge if good befalls them, they are, therewith, well content; but if a trial comes to them, they turn on their faces they lose both this world and the Hereafter that is loss for all to see!

                                          (11)

-> Can you see that the loss is in this life and in the hereafter? ? they lose both this world and the Hereafter, and everyone will see it ?that is loss for all to see?

From all the above, it is clear what you have missed to come and suggest that 478-79 have a contradiction, let?s look at it again and clarify what you have missed

                                          Enquirer said

I will start with the first contradiction; 478 and 479. Is evil from god or us? The literal translation is contradictory

78- Wherever you are, death will overtake you, though you are in lofty towers, and if a benefit comes to them, they say This is from Allah; and if a misfortune befalls them, they say This is from you. Say All is from Allah, but what is the matter with these people that they do not make approach to understanding what is told (them)?

79- Whatever benefit comes to you (O man!), it is from Allah, and whatever misfortune befalls you, it is from yourself, and We have sent you (O Prophet!), to mankind as a messenger; and Allah is sufficient as a witness.

                                          (7
                                          (79)

                                          Ahmed says

-> When the people at Mohammad time were hit by misfortune they accused Mohammad that he caused it?and if a misfortune befalls them, they say This is from you.?, while on the other hand if some good fortune falls on them they say ? and if a benefit comes to them, they say This is from Allah?, very strange indeed, it seems they adapted the feel good religion as many do in here, see how the lack the knowledge about Allah?, they think that Allah will only provide good fortune, as if this life is like fun, fun and more fun, they even lack the knowledge about why we are created in this life, they totally wrote off that this life is a test

-> Allah then told Mohammad to respond to them by ? Say All is from Allah?, of course it must be, didn?t He create everything including good and evil from the first place? Isn?t He testing us with good and evil?, Isn?t He who is causing the consequences according to our actions for the tests that happen to us every day?

-> Then Allah is telling us ? Whatever benefit comes to you (O man!), it is from Allah, and whatever misfortune befalls you, it is from yourself?, well, it is not like we worship Allah to get rewarded, this is a hypocrisy on its own merit, therefore if we get rewarded it has to be because He is generous, i.e. any benefit really happen to us is from Allah and don?t forget that this benefit can also be a trial at the same time during this life, this trial brings an action from us then a consequence from Allah to our actions during the trial . For the misfortune, the same divine law apply if you are bad guy, i.e. expect misfortune in this life as a punishment ?consequence? to your bad actions, this misfortune must be caused by Allah while it may look the same as the good fortune being from Allah, Allah will never cause it to any one unless that one is any of the following

                                          1. Anyone who does bad deeds (believer or not), the consequence must happen
                                          2. Anyone who claims to be a believer while Allah knows that he is not (a hypocrite), or even a good believer that Allah wants us to take him as an example of passing a trial

In I & 2 Allah is the ultimate Judge who will have the final decision and action and this still based on what we want to do in this life. i.e. we are a major player in it, Allah simply elaborated in 479 by telling us that the bad fortunes will be because of bad deeds we did. And for others it will be a mere test, all in all Allah is the ultimate planner and ultimate judge and yet our actions is still required in the picture

If you don?t agree on the above, it will be simply because of the veil on your eyes, but logically speaking you can spread you feathered wings and say loudly here is a contradiction in the Quran, the bottom line is simply you need to prove to us that it is a contradiction 100% and for you to do that you need to respond to all the Muslims who replied to your main post and demolish all their arguments

After we finish this matter we can move on to another contradiction, so please don?t get existed with this contradictions thingy, it is not like you are the one who discovered it, you have simply been hypnotised to do what others want you to do indirectly while you claim to have a very open mind and sort of a smart chap but with a hypnotised eyes, well I say forget it unless you wake up, try smacking yourself on the face and if you can?t do it I will be happy to do it for ya

                                          Peace and take care
