                      Peace to all
wel lies exposed, i can be considered a Quranite and I try to give as much as I can every payday, I dont usually calculate it to a percentage, I just see how much I have left after I pay a few bills and buy a few necessities, if I have enough to make it to next pay day I will usually give away about 50 $ cash to someone in my community that i think needs it most. I started doing this a couple years ago and gave mostly to the elderly, recently ive been giving to the younger adults who are trying to start and raise a family. I just pay attention to my community and if i hear a story about someone going through a hard time for some reason I will usually go to them and give them whatever I have available at the time. They seem to really appreciate it, even though it may only help them very little in the long run, but just imagine if alot of us were doing this, there would be alot less suffering and sadness in the world.
                      Kurt

                      Peace,
                      Respectfully.

I agree. This is what i had in mind and what i have in plan, God willing. You're right, we must all strive to be like this, God willing and only then the community will not only grow, God willing, it will heal itself, God willing.

                      Peace.

                        Peace be upon you Alen,

Because I have input in this discussion, I know Arabic beter than you? That is not sound reasoning. I am not your enemy.

I just stated that in my last post ) Sadaqa is charity and Zakaat is purification.

Charity is giving the excess of what you have, that which you dont need to help others, to create a balance in the world where there are not 5% of the world hoarding goods while the rest suffers, etc.

Purification, in the context of this message is cleaning out your subconcious(nafs) of the wrong thoughts, images, ideas, etc. Remember, this message tells us about the nafs(subconcious/spirit), .....thos who PURIFY IT suceed, those who corrupt it fail.

So maintain salaat(programming of the nafs) and bring forth zakaat(purification of it).

                        bravo

That's exactly it. Zakat = bringing forth/making development/betterment/purification, and sadaqa is charity.

                        Peace to all

                                Peace,

22 This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those fearing (Almuttaqiyn)
23 Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and of what We have provided for them, they spend () it

                                2219
                                ...
And they ask you what they should spend ()?

                                "The Excess"

                                OMG that is clear!

or, according to some other translations, spend

"That which is beyond your needs."
                                "that which is superfluous."
                                "What is beyond your needs."
                                "What you can spare."
                                "Liberality (Or clemency)" ???

Zakat or not zakat, spend the excess (to those we're told to spend to/for -- 2177, 2215)

Those who want a little part of the world will be & (no way, the excess? What if it's too much? Oh but i need more... What if i just spare no excess? &amp

Those who want to be Almuttaqiyn will follow it by heart spend the excess ! pr group

One gold bar, one thousand gold bars, one million gold bars -- if it's the excess then spend it.

OK. That's settled. Infaq/sadaqat/charity spend the excess.

Now let's get back to "zakat". If it's no more a matter of "how much to pay", then simply "how"

                                How do i ?

                                Peace,

If you spend the excess, you can't save any money so you can never collect a fortune.

Hoarding of wealth will lead to punishment.

934 O you who believe, many of the Priests and Monks consume people's money in falsehood, and they turn away from the path of God. And those who hoard gold and silver, and do not spend it in the cause of God, give them news of a painful retribution.

Zakat is self-growth, development, betterment. This can be achieved through the salat/bond, for example.

919 Successful is the one who betters/develops/purifies (zakaha) it (the nafs).
Alternatively "...the one who makes it flourish."

9110 And failing is the one who hides/burries it.

It's getting clearer to me that we have, with Quran, a system that promotes collective financial interdependence and not individual financial independence.

Those are still applicable with charity.

                                      Peace
